  • This video covers the entire process after a drawing on a lithographic stone is complete: first etch, wash-out and roll-up, second etch, and printing. The process is the same for plate lithography, but one would use a different etching solution for plate litho. Any other differences are noted in the video. Fall in love with lithography!

    Thanks for the great video. Super thorough! I have a question about your gum etches... they are pre-mixed and kept in squirt bottles. You or your tech must do this in advance and keep them on hand for printers. This is mind-blowing to me! The scariest thing any of my students do in any of the media I teach is mix gum and nitric. Is there any issue doing it your way? The etches stay "fresh" and consistent?
