- Hey y’all ! Welcome to another Friday with CWCOI ! In this week’s episode our host, Ally Yost, shares more about what the Bible says about fasting and why we are encouraged to fast. The purpose of fasting is so we can take our focus off the things of this world so that we are then able to completely focus on our Father. When we fast in a spirit of humility and joy, we are able to hear the Lord's voice clearer. We hope this episode leaves you encouraged to fast or to pray more about what that might look for you !

I say this out of love and compassion but looking up videos on you tube about fasting, as opposed to reading the word of the Creator?!
The Lord’s “thing” is His word. I urge you to read it for your sake and you’ll know the truth about it.

i have been hearing the Lord telling me to fast these past few days but i’ve been ignoring it because it felt like i couldn’t do it. this coming out today was such a confirmation that it’s time for me to fast and it encouraged me so much, He is so good
THE LORD IS SPEAKING!!! I was just talking to my friends yesterday about fasting and how we wanted to do it (it would be my first time), and then this video popped up today. I love your podcast and talk about it all the time! My friend responded: God is really talking to you. Thank you Jesus!!!

11:22 Amen!!!!!! i hope this encourages someone out there who struggled with anorexia:
i was badly anorexic for 12yrs, in and out of hospital, was in the psych ward for a time, the whole shebang. something finally clicked in me (before Jesus, but now i know it WAS Jesus) and i started recovery. i was in recovery for 9yrs but struggling left and right with slip ups.
Then i met Jesus 2yrs ago and He HEALED me! He gave me victory over it and only after i met Him can i say i'm no longer in recovery, but fully recovered 1000%! Like, SO past tense, hallelujah! 🙌🙌🙌
Anyway, i was concerned about fasting b'coz we're supposed to flee our temptations. But i kept feeling Him guide me towards fasting over the last 1.5yr, until finally i really understood what fasting was and i rrrrreally wanted to do this special thing for Him. i started slowly by only doing a day fast and praying through it just like Ally said. Keeping in prayer for the reason for my fast, in addition to asking Jesus to guard my heart from the enemy and keep Him my focus and not allow it to turn into ED mindset.
In time i was able to do a 2 day fast and any time even the smallest intrusive thought from the enemy came in trynna turn it into a control thing, i rebuked it, leaned into Jesus, prayed, and asked for strength. He is so so sweet and tender and looooves when we come to Him, when we ask Him for help to do something for Him, so if we're asking for a right heart inclined towards Him, a d asking to be more tender to His voice and leadership and we mean it, He WILL answer and help you stay in check ❤🥰
There may be thoughts and the enemy may try, but if you keep your focus on the Lord and the reason why you're fasting, pray through it deeply and take everything to Him running at top speed the moment you notice it, fasting for a person who struggled with eating disorders should be a-ok b'coz JESUS! 😃🙌🙏❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

I have been needing answers about how to address a recurring spiritual attack that has been happening and I asked God this morning what I should do about it and He told me prayer and fasting. I then opened up my YT and your video was the first thing that popped up as soon as I opened it up. God speaks to me this way many times. This was yet another confirmation that this is what I need to do. Thank you for this video.

Sister, I say this with love and sincerity because I too can struggle with the sin of idolatry. But the recent TikTok video of you fan-girling over Paris Hilton is giving idolizing her for being a celebrity. I don't understand why you made a whole post about her but at the same time, I can see she gets to look at your page and a seed of Jesus from you will be planted. I pray she comes to know and love Jesus, as Lord & Savior. 🙏🏼💓
YES ! I agree. The only person I would ever be impressed to see is Jesus when He comes back :) Celebs are just people and some really evil ones. 🤷🏻♀ We should pray for them and their salvation but we should not be glorifying them in any way. They are human beings, sinners at heart, who need Jesus, just like the rest of us. 🤍

i’d loooove to see a video on keeping the commandments and specifically the sabbath :) i’ve seen some christian’s talking about how we no longer need to keep the commandments because of the new testament message butttt i do believe the Lord urges us out of sin ..
Heyy! I've been doing a study around that, and reading the book of Galatians is a good start. Paul talks about how the gentiles where saved through believing in the gospel but after they were saved they started to follow the law and paul believes that this is useless and worng, why? because, it highlighted that we are a sinner and we needed a redeemer, but it couldn't redeem us; Christ did. It was appointed as a temporary guidance, for us to have access to God, until Jesus came to give us access us full access to have a relationship with God through faith. The bible talks about Abraham being the father of faith and righteousness was accounted to him through faith, not through the law. yes the lord does urges us out of sin, but the commandments does not change our hearts the way reading his word and the Holyspirit does and also the law couldn't pay the price for the all of our sins like Jesus did. Following the laws, is like saying Jesus' death on the cross wasn't enough. The whole gospel is about, believing in his death and resurrection and having faith in his word and living it out; that ultimately changes us and we become more christlike through this process. The emphasis is now on Faith, walking in the spirit and ultimately, knowing that yes sometimes we may fall short, but God gives us room for Grace. We move onto perfection (sanctification) but we wont be perfect until christ comes. Galations 4: 21 - 32 talks about the old/ new covenants. I hope this helps you and gives you some idea and i pray that God gives your a clear revelation, God bless sis! - scriptures - Galatians 1, 2, 3, 4,5, 6. Romans 6:6. Hebrews 7:11 -20 Romans 8:9

Hey girl absolutely love your podcast! It is a blessing in my life! I just felt led to leave this comment. I mean this correction with the most love possible. And I know it’s a topic that some people disagree on. But anyways my dad is a pastor and he was working in deliverance ministry for almost a decade when I was growing up. And he has had experiences of casting out demons from Christians. We’re Brazilian but I grew up in the states. And sometimes he would go on trips to Brazil to do deliverance for churches. He’s cast out demons from many Christians in Jesus name. One time he went to preach at a church and later do deliverance and even some of the leaders that were on the intercession team, fell to the ground demonized and needed deliverance themselves. Cause sometimes people come to Jesus but then don’t know that they should pray for deliverance. My dad would say that it’s always important after a demon is casted out for the persons pastor or leader to follow up with them, to with prayer find out how the demon potentially got in them so that they’re not demonized again. Cause there’s the scripture in Matthew 12:43-45 43 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” Some people in Brazil were consecrated at birth to demons and then later come to Christ and don’t know they need deliverance. Others (for example myself at one point I was lukewarm, so I had been living in sin, ) andwhen I came back wholeheartedly to Christ I started experiencing oppression and so I sought out deliverance by praying with my pastors wife and Jesus set me free. Ive seen a friend before who is a Christian be on the floor possessed demonized and her pastor casted the demon out. If we give the devil a foothold by living in iniquity, I’m not saying he will possess a Christian, but it can happen. But it’s nothing to be afraid of because when we pray in Jesus name the demons have to leave. “Greater is he who is in us than he who is in the world.” And I do believe if we’re faithful to Christ they can’t enter again. But it is something to be aware of.

I am 11 yrs old and have been wanting to fast, but is it even possible if I’m so young? I’ve been saved since June but it doesn’t feel like my relationship with Jesus has been going anywhere. I’ve been praying, reading and studying my bible, listening to worship music, and overall trying to spend most of my free time with Jesus. I hear from God, but it seems like the only time I do, I get convicted for something. So I’m wondering if fasting will deepen my relationship and be a testimony to other people. Also, since I’m 11, I live with my parents and siblings, so how would I tell them I’m fasting? - I’m the only Christian in my household and I don’t think they would understand and/or possibly keep me from doing it. So, once again, can I fast at 11 yrs old?
Hi I'm 18 yrs old and I just wanted to encourage you that yes you absolutely can fast! Honestly it's inspiring that you have such a hunger for God at such a young age and God loves that ❤. Considering that you are young and this is your first time I would suggest starting small. You don't have to do a full fast esp since you aren't used to it. Also starting small could help if your family would have an issue with you fasting. You could fast one meal, for example breakfast or lunch. But if you eat dinner or a meal with your family you shouldn't skip it because you still live under their roof. You have to be mindful that they took the time to cook for you and you don't want to disrespect that esp if they don't understand why you are fasting. But there are other ways to fast, you could fast snacks, candy, sweets video games. Or even your phone or social media.
Fasting is meant to bring you closer with God and God knows your heart and as long as it is a sacrifice to you and you are replacing it with prayer/reading the bible/worship music, he will use it. Also 1st Timothy 4:12 NIV says "Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." So don't let your age discourage you because it is actually really bold and honorable that you want to fast! I hope this helps, God Bless you! 💕🙏
