My favorite episode to date! I can relate to all of those same things in the beginning of marriage too! This was relatable, thought provoking, and hilarious! What more could you ask for?! 😍

I so appreciate your transparency. Podcasts’ like this can’t be easy but knowing that we aren’t the only ones navigating similar challenges - is priceless. It means so much to my family & thousands of others as well. Thank you both for sharing & for showing us what biblical instruction looks like in a healthy marriage 🙌🏼🥰

I related to so much of this. I struggle with being sneaky and deceptive because of the way I was raised and my desire to avoid conflict so I completely understand where Elisha is coming from! But he’s so right there’s still no excuse. And it has damaged the trust in my marriage.
I appreciate this episode and really the whole podcast. Gives me great encouragement for the future of my marriage.

I just love your transparency and bring things up that are so common to marriage. Marriage is not always pretty. Thank you! Also, my husband and I went through a time a couple of years ago and continue to occasionally as well. I am adopted and it took 4 years into our marriage for me to understand that my adoption story had planted seeds of distrust in our marriage. I was just waiting for him to fall for someone else. And I would react to pretty normal circumstances as him talking to a female member of our church as there was something going on. But I found out that this is common with adopted individuals with the fear that they will be left again as they had been left by their mother. Knowing this information was so healing to our marriage. My husband didn't feel as if he was always on the defense and I could have more confidence in him know and seeking God's healing for these wounds from birth. I still have episodes but I know to bring them up to him and we discuss them and then the fear lessens. But it did take a few disappearances of homes and some very heated arguments and stress and strain on a new marriage.

I appreciate the honesty about the little irritations and challenges in marriage because it helps me to know that my own marriage is normal! I love the encouragement to assume the best about the other person’s intentions and to bring up confrontational topics with a more neutral tone. Hard to do at times but so helpful in the long run in keeping or building trust!

I just found your podcast and am loving it in general (just listened to your interview with your MIL) - But I just want to leave a positive review for the Voetberg Music Academy! We have one kiddo working through the Piano 1 and another working through the Guitar 1 and it has been such a huge blessing to our family! Totally agree that the overall price for a family’s music lessons is beyond compare to anything else I’ve seen. Plus we can do it from our home and it is building our kids confidence in and enjoyment of music!
(We’re doing the courses along with some cousins and planning a family recital also!)
