    Glad you had a picture of Brandon de Wilde with Paul Newman in the bar scene in “Hud”. I thought he was so handsome when I first saw Hud in the 1950s. He died way too young in a tragic accident. So did Robert Francis, the also handsome young man who played Ensign Willie Keith in “The Caine Mutiny”.

    In the early 1980's we had a large color TV in the family room, and a small black and white TV upstairs. I remember on Sundays my father had control of the color TV for Sports, so my big sister and I would watch "Fame" upstairs on the b&w 📺🙂

All the way from Andy Gibb (youngest Gibb brother b. 5 March 1958 d.10 March 1988 he never made the fame as the rest of the Bee Gees brothers. Several appearances of Turner&Tovey and Christopher Atkins in his more grown up age, although he was 18 when Blue Lagoon was filmed. You can see the blue in Paul Newman's eyes wowwwww. The rest of the archive is bonzer wowww. Cheers DougT 🇫🇴

He looks a regular 🌈 guy and maybe fought against stylists advice to get his ears pinned back 😎 At least there is something to hold onto 😉 The Poldark image of Aiden Turner is very him, no make up or body hair prosthetics needed there for him. Dayum, Chris Atkins was such a hottie in his youth. Andy Gibb was such a cutie, so sad that his torrid relationship with Victoria Principal wrecked him til he took his own life. I remember the John Davidson show where they were introduced, they both seemed perfect for each other.

      Atkins and The Blue Lagoon were a pivotal part of my formative years. As for Andy, I think his problems pre-dated Ms. Principal, but I could be wrong. My understanding is addiction and the pressures of measuring up to his brothers' legacy were likely as much contributing factors. Though...whatever the reason(s), what a loss.

      I refuse to play such silly games. I'm a tastemaker. You're a tastemaker. We're all tastemakers. No one's personal preference is that important...men are men. Hairy, smooth, or somewhere in between. It's all good. And natural. :-)

      @@CollidePress I think you misunderstand me. My observation is that the torso of the man in public space went from mostly hairy as you can see in this vid, to almost exclusively smooth in 50 years time. And that cannot be natural, that must be because there is a presure to shave the chest.

    • @CollidePress
      @CollidePress  Месяц назад +1

      Ahhhh. I see. What I find interesting is someone like Jonathan Bailey--who's a bit hairy. He varies his look by photo shoot. Not sure who's decision it is, but based on the years I spent on film/tv sets, my guess is it has as much to do with the actor/model's preference as the photographer/producer. Some guys change their chest hair like others change their shirts. lol
