IDK what I would do without your channel. Almost every channel that shows indie horror games like this has some dude talking or even worse making his face take up a fifth of the screen. Cheers to you for letting us actually enjoy the gameplay.
Instead, how about a Silent Hill 1 inspired FPS with no combat, but you get to have collectable scattered notes and achromatic aberration burning into your peripheral vision.
It's a stretch to call this "analog horror" just because it has a few transitional slides with VHS overlays, but it's a pretty damn effective horror experience nonetheless. I think the Mandela Catalogue has both ruined a lot of good horror in that this silent text scroll in that same font needs to be featured in practically everything, but also inspired a lot of cool stuff.
@@markdaniel9657 Vol 2 and whichever one had the two kids that were essentially "ghosthunting" the alternates were insanely good. From what I remember, I could take or leave the others. The dude doing the (more popular) Backrooms material should get his own goddamn TV series, though.
@@seymourdemonica9264 It didn't lol. I understand if YOU knew analog horror from Mandela Catalogue, but it was also just hopping on a bandwagon that's already rolling. Which kind of makes it even more dull.
I don’t have a problem with Mandela Catalogue. As far as I’m aware, their recent volume was a major improvement over the initial series. That being said I think the mainstream horror genre is generally artistically bankrupt and unable to focus on communicating their own ideas about why things are scary. This is how cliches are created, we fixate on every trope that pops up and just vomit it out repeatedly without understanding the nuances of how and when to use them. Analogue horror is effective for older audiences because it brings to mind fear of getting older, of looking at relics long since passed into obscurity. Its like finding a polaroid picture of a homicide victim; unsettlingly out of focus, and long since vanished. Younger audiences dont get that, they haven’t even been exposed to the medium long enough to be conditioned to find it unsettling, and find the references in themselves to be “the conditioning” intended to make it scary. It just doesn’t work anymore.
That alarm tone on the 20th of June was the exact same as one of the alarms I use every morning. Watching this video at half-past midnight, after a big meal, with the lights off, with my heater on, getting verrry sleepy... now THAT was a shock.
i think there's a very real difference between horror games and games with horror elements, this is the latter sure, there are a lot of things here that are traditionally associated with horror, but there's never any tension, never any real atmosphere, and not much of a story going on it's just a lot of things that happen, the horror equivalent of michael bay's transformers
Nothing makes this stand out from the other dime a dozen “analog” horror games. The genre has been completely milked dry it’s time for something new. People were onto something with Mandela catalogue and the backrooms but nobody improvised on the formula at all so it just remains as cheesy early 2010s creepypasta type shit.
Last time I commented something like this someone mouthed off to me then deleted it before I could reply. I don’t think these devs like it when you call their games bad 🤭
Backrooms never even got good for me. I didn't get the point of original creepypasta where main character just noclipped through a wall and got to endless labyrinth. I thought there is something in the end of that creepypasta that makes it so good and respected, but turned out its just that main character hears some weird noises like someone's with him, but in fact isn't. After this I thought that it might get a good game adaptation, but there was nothing new than setting of endless rooms. So in the end I'm glad this pointless popularity ended
Well, I hope the devs take constructive criticism- positive and negative. They aren't professional if they can't. I get not wanting derogatory and offensive personnel attacks- but there's nothing wrong with calling out something that's bad and articulating where and how it fell apart.
I don't see anything personal. You are expressing a valid opinion here. I don't like everything on this channel either. Some things are "meh," but there's also some really great stuff here as well
I enjoyed the game alot but damn these comments are salty. Maybe go outside and touch some grass? Get some fresh air? A bottle of water? Going off about how sick of something you are isn't really beneficial to anyone especially when there is zero criticism in it.
Honestly I prefer games more like the Bloodwash or japanese horrorgames where the game takes place in real world but with plenty of mysteries and clues. I dont know I just think that the thrill theme makes the game more scary than actually seeing corpses and blood 2 minutes into the game. I remember that there was also a swedish game set in that theme but I really cant remember the name of it... anyways still my favourite channel when it comes to horror gaming! Keep it up ABG :)
I don't like the game's usage of AI generated art. AI generated art does have potential, but in its current state there's too much rampant copyright infringement. Just a few minutes into the game and I'm positive I've seen those mugshots and paintings before with only slight differences.

This scared me more then the entire game what the fuck-
F**k off! (edm music played in the background)

Yeah, I can’t stand most game channels. As soon as I hear “hey guys” I close the video, especially with horror games.
Modern developers try not to make horror VHS for 5 minutes:
And don't foget the PS1 graphic and textures
The graphics make me dizzy. Some of these games feel like they were made in about 15 minutes.
Instead, how about a Silent Hill 1 inspired FPS with no combat, but you get to have collectable scattered notes and achromatic aberration burning into your peripheral vision.
Here for comments.

NGL, the Mandela Catalogue is pretty hit or miss
You think Mandela Catalogue started the trend?
@@yueshijoorya601 Likely not. But, you can't tell me it didn't popularize it.

Four little ducks went swimming one day, over the hills and far way.
as sure as the ducks meet the sea, back in his wings she will be.
Holy shit balls just heard it as I read your msg
They say one was rubbery...
That was pretty damn freaky. Great twist on the Analog Horror genre.
mugshot looks like joker without makeup lol
I think the mugshots are AI-generated. They have these distortions that don't look right.
It's "The Static Speaks My Name" times four. Because four dudes, get i-

Exactly! If you think this was made in 5 minutes, go learn Unity and repeat that to me with a straight face.
Saying you're sick of a thing is a criticism. Maybe think through your comment while you're giving sarcastically childish responses.
This almost makes it seem like this based on a real case, but as far as I can find its not
Im commenting before watchin the video cuz that thumbnail scared the shit outta me, one of the scariest on your channel Bob... 😦😂😂
I love your videos
Well at least the notepad is cute 😶
SO what does happen if you type in "wanker" on the title screen?
What's that "fuck off" clip? Was that you or the game?
?where
Anybody else just find this way more confusing than “scary” ?
its not meant to be analogue horror its meant to be liminal horror ( i asked the dev as i know him personally).
