Sorry to read that. My forecast at the moment shows cloudy for the weekend right up until 8 pm on Sunday night. If that holds, I'll be able to see them at just the right time. But I don't put a lot of faith in forecasts more than 24-48 hours out, so we'll see how that actually goes. Maybe yours will change for the better!
@@Eyesonthesky man that sucks. I saw a meteor show 10-15 years ago that spoiled me though. They were in the north and falling straight down every few seconds sometimes multiple at a time. Very bright and had trails. I’ll probably never see one like that again. I need to research what they were from.
How to differentiate between hallucinations and a real meteor shower, because here due to light pollution And other pollution. It's not guaranteed what you are seeing is an actual fall. By d way nice vid as always.
Are you sure about the velocity? I thought the Geminids are known for being much slower than other showers, like the Perseids. Anyway, great video, thank you! Best wishes from Germany
According to various sources I've read, yes. "The Geminids are bright and fast meteors and tend to be yellow in color." From here: solarsystem.nasa.gov/asteroids-comets-and-meteors/meteors-and-meteorites/geminids/in-depth/#:~:text=During%20its%20peak%2C%20120%20Geminid,to%20be%20yellow%20in%20color.
@@Eyesonthesky I also searched and found this, e.g.: www.imo.net/viewing-the-geminid-meteor-shower-in-2020/ "Due to their medium-slow velocity, persistent trains are not usually seen." Average Geminid velocity is given as 35 km/s, while Perseids are 58 km/s, so considerably slower. As far as I have looked, the Geminids are the slowest among the great showers (Orionids, Perseids, Lyrids, Leonids, ...) but still, it is 35 kilometers per second we are talking about :D
grabbing my merino wool sox and my star gazing chair. Hope we get a clear sky. Thanks again David!
If our forecast holds, then it should clear up just about the right time!
Ha ha ha! love the thumbnail David. Great info as always buddy. Clear skies.
Thanks! Thought I'd do something a little more theatrical. :-D
I was waiting for this for a long time. Hope that we could have a clear night sky. Thanks for the video❤❤
I hope everyone has clear skies for this. It is a good meteor shower!
Great Video David As Always 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Well, it's been raining here all week and the chances are slim that I'll be able too see it. Great video by the way!

Woe is me.. the clouds are here.
Meant to be.. as I shed one tear.
Hey, David! Thank you for the info! With weather like this I guess we'll definitely need to bring some blankets, umbrella and may be some vodka!
Go easy on the vodka. Alcohol may make you feel warm, but thins the blood and makes you colder! (Or bring more blankets...)
Thanks great info💫
Glad it was helpful!
I am happy that i found your channel, and i missed this meteor shower it was cloudy that night. :/
It’s supercold here in Germany but will try to look up the sky. Hope it will be dark and clear! Thanks for this
bestimmt ist es wieder zu bewölkt, wie leider jedes Jahr.
Great video dude
Thank you!
I’m trying to watch from LA but it’s hard with all the light pollution
Oof. Yes, the light pollution is quite bad out there. I didn't see any, but that's because I had 100% clouds.
I went in for the epic thumbnail and stayed for the content.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! ;-)
Waiting now....from Nepal...its 9:22 pm...but no signs...but I think i will see them
Did you spot any? I had 100% cloudy weather, so I saw zero.
@@Eyesonthesky after 10 I was lucky enough to watch it....as in my area the weather was clear
Saw about 3 last night, but unfortunately it’s raining here tonight.
Glad you saw some .... I had 100% clouds all weekend long. :(
