- The Half-Life series is full of strong protagonists who each played their own important role in the fight against The Combine. While Gordon Freeman, Barney Calhoun, Eli Vance and even Judith Mossman were essential in this conflict, there was another person who would do anything to save her resistance family. A person who was pushed on by the G-Man, the Vortigaunt and her father.
Who was this young fiery resistance member? Just how important was she? And what and who would she lose on her path to freedom for humanity?

Had the biggest crush on her when middle school me first saw her smile after getting ambushed by the civil protection squad in the apartment complex. Well written, animated, and acted, she is and still is in my opinion the best companion in a video game

@@user-xh8df9oz4yall I can think of is she tries too hard to act cool. Or rather, the game tries to make her look too cool. "Oh no, you almost died, but she just took out 4 soldiers without a weapon. So strong!" Granted, I feel that way about Freeman as well - "oh look, he beats up hundreds of soldiers as an army of one and also a giant psychic baby, so badass." But, like, that's the point of video games - being some kind of OP superhero.

Dude I was recently replaying the half life 2 episodes. Somehow they do such a good job at game design that it’s SUPER easy to develop a connection to Alyx. It’s wild
The connection is insane. The only similar character I can think of is Elizabeth from Bioshock.

To be honest, I always thought that they were referring to the pet headcrab as a cat. I don't know why I thought that.
Honestly the only thing that should have happened was them actually making Episode 3 back when. It's caused this big problem with Half Life now and I don't see how they can undo it really.
Unless they planned this lame retcon and timeline all the way back from the start.
That cinematic scene at the beginning, specifically when Eli said "my god, what have we done?" makes me want to see a (well written) movie or TV show about Eli Vance and his experience before and after the events.
And seeing the story from his perspective, since he knows a lot and has seen a lot.
That was kind of what I was hoping for when I put that sequence together. I'd love a Half-Life tv show too but we'd need Valve to finish it, or we'd have another Game of Thrones situation.

This was an absolute blast to watch. You outdid yourself with the new presentation and it just gave your words much more weight when you see actual footage of scenes your describing at the respective moments. Can't imagine the plus on expense and time this had to take but it was very worth it!
It was a lot more work to put together but the reception is absolutely worth it. Going forward, I may have to think about how I put these together. Quality works over quantity.

Alyx became of my fave HL characters after Episode 1. She is so a badass and the hospital section with her is of the most memorable moments in the franchise.

Imagine in a future 3rd major Half-Life game, you would have 2 choices before beginning the campaign story, another 2 choices to choose from right before using the Borealis, and another 2 choices you'd be given during the end.

Fantastic video. And let me say, there is no way the story of Alyx and Gordon ends here. Valve just continued the story of Half Life through Half Life Alyx and basically red conned ( or maybe this was their plan and story all along ) the ending of HL ep 3.
After so many years we got a continuation of the story, brief as it was, no way they are not seeing this through.
My headcannon for why D0G always knows where Alyx is, is because Eli put a tracking chip in Alyx--likely implanted under her skin--that only D0G is able to pick up on. Since the robot was meant to protect his daughter, it makes sense that Eli would go to such precautions to make sure that D0G would always be able to find her.

Dammit, you did a good job with this lore. I'd be more than happy if you shared your thoughts on the story of HL:3, the most awaited video game that never was. Do think that HL:3 should be the finale or we do deserve more especially after more than a decade and half? I just want your mere thoughts without referring to Epistle 3.
I would say that Episode 3 would have pushed the story forward, and then Half-Life 3 many have been the conclusion. I think I am one in the minority that liked Epistle 3 and I cannot help but think about it when I think of a future storyline.
Half-Life: Alyx set up something really interesting in which Alyx is an agent of the G-Man. Gordon is no longer under the protection of him. I do hope we get some sort of conclusion. I don't know what I would want that to be though. The fall of The Combine, a timeloop, or maybe a moment in which Gordon becomes the G-Man. If done correctly, all three could be great. We just have to wait for Valve really. I think if I really thought about it, I could maybe come up with something that'd be interesting.
@@Skyrionn Man, for sure, Valve can't let the entire gaming community down. When they come out out with something, they always amazes us. They're really the MVP of this industry, as they only focus on business and don't shove agendas down the fans' throats. They're really an asset.

Winter rain and chill winds outside, and you are inside the warm blanket watching half life lore of skyrion while wishing you are transported in the labs and century where this story would occur to solve teleportation and travel beyond the stars.
I keep reading and researching with greater passion the science of artificial intelligence, quantum physics and in the background of my mind is the beautiful story and characters of half life. Never felt this type of Connection with any other art or literature.
