Love my council tool flying fox Hatchett and it is only $50 on amazon right now. Thanks again Will appreciate your down to earth no bull crap reviews and opinions. Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas
That is the hatchet I always take in my daypack. It has a broad bite and the handle is long enough to swing two handed. I wouldn't prefer it for carving, it's more of a beater.
Nice hatchet. I particularly like the expensive one you showed. The little Beavercraft looks very handy. Better to use an axe to chop wood than a thin expensive knife 😂 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
The edge on first one is oriented lightly for right-hand use. Nice little tool. I have few romanian custom really handforged hatchet's. Are top quality and one i bought lately was about 100 $ Nice tools have you there👍 Blessed Merry Christmas!
Oritiation for right hand or left hand use is usually done for pure carving axes so don’t think this was intentional but of the use is carving and your right handed is could help. 😂 appreciate your view and comment.
Have you ever thought about making a hatchet? I’ll preorder one today. I can see it now, the WCSH (William Collins Survival Hatchet). Thank you for pointing out the way the grains should be in the handle. I never thought about that and will look for it now.
Very welcome, axes and hatchets are typically forged. I do not use forges for knife making I use kilns for more control of heat for the steels I use. So hatchet’s are not likely. Appreciate the question though. 😁
The Woodsman Finest axe is from Fadir tools also known as Kharkiv Forge and Svarogych. I have tools and axes from them, all in 52100, and they are amazing and sharp as hell on arrival.
Great video and reviews William. Personally I will stick with my US made Council Tool Flying Fox,which is a bit cheaper than the Beavercraft, my Council Tool Woodcraft Camp Carver, and my Mccoun Tomahawks are higher priced but great quality. I have been intrigued by several axes/hatchets from Europe but have never felt the need to try them do to being happy with my current models. Stay sharp my friend and Merry Christmas!
Have a Council Tool Woodcraft by the shop wood stove and it gets well used in January and February. Great little axe. Appreciate your view and thoughts.
The expensive carving axe is from Wild Fields Forge. I am very interested by this axe but I am not sure that they are still in business because of the war. They are not on Etsy anymore but they still have a Facebook account. I will write to them to see if they are still in business and will let everyone know.

Council makes some great tools. I have one of their small axes next to the shop wood heater..

Appreciate the info.
I’ll always know them as Kharkiv forge. Without a doubt the finest axes you can own as a woodsman.

Thanks, I know the Woodsman Finest still has some. May try his website. Link is in the description.
@@wcknives Thanks for the tip.
I never saw your video on the special on the knives
What special knives video?
I like the hatchets that you showed us, and you talked me right out of buying the beaver craft….
