      @@markm0000 Oddly enough I had some tools in my truck for a specific job I get once in a blue moon. I had them in zippered pouches. I wanted to combine the pouches in a small Veto TP-XL . I ordered that Snap_On Combi cutters that doc featured a couple months ago. Cuts wires ties at the tip and wires towards the rivet. I thought those were slick and I only need one pair of cutters.

    The little “knife” in the small circle looks like a “Stage Pin” splitting tool. Stage Pin connections are used frequently in the entertainment industry for 120v power connections. The splitter tool is used on the male connector pin to widen just a little bit for a firmer connection.

    Probably an effect of being a tool hoarder but the more features, the less I like the tool. I was even disappointed with the knipex 6 in 1 pliers that I thought didn't do any of the functions besides the cutters particularly well. Even then, I have a set of their little cable shears that do that perfectly in a smaller form.

    Just avoid Chinese hand tools.

  • @shinrah4772
    @shinrah4772 4 дня назад

    Well they wouldn't make them if absolutely nobody buys them. I guess they do actually sell fairly well because they are so cheap and offer that many gimmicks, so people buy them for that. The realiziation that they might not do the job you need em to do well enough only comes later and due to the low price most people likely wont bother going through the hassle of returning them either.
    The problem I see is mostly that even a tool like that can only be as cheap as it is cause china has vast overcapacities in manufacturing right now and is subsidizing those companies in order to keep people employed and prevent the bubble from bursting, so things that are more likely to end in a landfill instead of being used are produced. It's a massive waste of resources and also screws "earnest" companies who still have to compete with this.
