Tracey , I i am a 67 year old woman. It is important for all people to have a passion but I think particularly as we get older. How blessed you are to have found such a passion and also be living it with your family. ❤🎉
Back breaking work! You guys are doing so amazing. You all must be so exhausted after a day in the garden. Will be so worth it!! Remember to take good care of yourselves too!
Ash, no one is born knowing how to use machinery. Keep using new equipment at every opportunity, and soon, you’ll be a pro. Lovely work so far. Such a pleasure to watch it all coming together.
Ash you are just the cutest walking around your path you built . You have every right to be proud of yourself. Congratulations on a job well done and skills learned. Everyone has done a phenomenal job.
I have no doubt that the 3 days spent digging, loading, hauling, and unloading were back breaking! Thank goodness for the extra hands. Your visitors have been amazing. And everyone looks happy😄
It is really interesting watching a strutchered garden being formed. It makes you realise what hard work must have been done originally, when they had no machinery. The soil looks great. Well done lovely family 🤗
Hi Guys, it's Michael here. You have all made tremendous progress, my jaw drops at the amount of headway you've made. So glad you're all smiling and still having a good time. You should absolutely be happy and proud of your progress!!!
I came back to watch this video again while I had a quiet home. You all are knocking it out of the park. It is going to take a lot of time to establish the garden. Digging out the paths does define it quite well. Terry is using his landscaping skills with string and tape. ❤ All of you are such a pleasure to watch as you create your dream.
Its magic watching you all work together on this beautiful design. The volunteers are doing an amazing job. So satisfying tearing down ivy and uncovering the ancient walling.
Your iron piece looks like a ridge cap for the roof of your entry porch. Great find! Your pathways look so crisp they set a beautiful visual of the garden dimensions. Tough work satisfying results.
Ash you are a born presenter and explaining everything perfectly thank you ☺️ so much for keeping us updated…Was amazing Tracy found a hidden treasure! 😊
You did a great job Ash! 🚜 I hope everyone takes it easy this weekend... arms, shoulders, back and abs must be aching! It's looking phenomenal. Hi Jonathon 👋 😊
I can see the shape of the garden, looks great. Tracy is working away, digging, and driving tractor to remove the dirt, along the rest of you! Exciting times!!!😊
Ash you did a great job working with the digger👍 Terry is right person to do the finishing touches with the measurements of the paths with the wooden toon he used. Loved that you took use on a tour and explaining what the ideas are for the grand garden and vegi garden. Everybody is working so hard. 😘👌
You're a natural in front of the camera Ash. Love your commentary. I can't wait to see the finished product. It's going to look "amazing". Well done all of you.
I have been working on a 15' x 10' garden for the last 3 years. Even that feels like a huge garden! You've done amazing work getting this far so quickly.
A tremendous amout of work has been done so far, congratulations as this is back braking work. The new vegie beds will be easier to cover with a fine net and even add an extra greenhouse against a wall somewhere at a later date. Growing your own food is going to be more important next year for sure. Well done everyone including Jonathan 💕🇦🇺
Ash, Terry, have you considered incorporating a Gazebo/Pavillion in the garden? Depending on the size, it could take a big chunk of real estate and reduce the amount of plants to plant. Not to mention, it would be a lovely place for guests to enjoy the garden.
What a great find, Tracy! I think Ash is right, and it's the 'ridge pole' for the glass enclosure. I hadn't noticed before, but looking at the photograph reminded me strongly of the 1851 Great Exhibition. I'm eager to watch the replication/renovation of La Lacelle's porch. But on to the spectacular efforts of the team in the walled garden: WOW! It's starting to really take the concept into reality. Great job, everyone!
Oh, it's looking so good! I can't believe how quickly you've made such good progress on it. I'm sure it's a thrill to look down on it from the chateau and see it shaping up! Just imagine in a few years once it's all been planted and the plants have had a chance to fill in nicely; it's going to be gorgeous!
Oh you do still have the peacocks! So happy to hear that. I would love to see them in one of your videos sometime. You guys are really making so much progress on a strenuous backbreaking job. Please tell everyone well done from me.
Oh dang it- I’m late to the party and missed the Live chat! Oh you guys, I’ll bet you are feeling muscles you never even knew you possessed, after all that digging and raking! Ouch! Dear Lord, Ash, those roots you are removing are massive! Great job on the digger, you’re a quick learner. Excellent episode today! ❤️🇨🇦
Loved the video! Anyone who has had a shovel and used it for any amount of time can certainly appreciate how hard you're all working. Having large machines to help is priceless. Working together with others, especially all of you makes work light-hearted. Congratulations and well-deserved R&R this weekend.
Terry you are doing awesome on your “as above so below “theme. The garden layout is just like working on the molding on the ceiling. You got it mastered 😉❤️
Absolutely a major landscape project! You will use muscles you never knew you had 😂 My husband has three large compost binds great for our vegetable garden and trees. He actually sells bags to our neighbors 🤗 The dogs love being out with y’all hopefully they get a nice bath prior to coming inside 🛁
What a wonderful hard life you've chosen for yourselves. The chateau and the grounds are going to be specular when everything is done. I can't wait to see what next year brings for the gardens, I'm sure it's going to be wonderful. Love, Kathy USA
You don't realise how big that garden is until you see the little blue car in the background, great job done by all love the new garden beds,I'm getting excited with everystep
Tracy is a rock star as far as I’m concerned. Wish you filmed some of her hard work always good to see how plants pan out! Varieties that work or don’t. I use plumbing pipes and a garden material from amazing that kets in water but blocks out pesky munchers. Such a blessing to grow your own veg to enjoy!
Oh Ash, enjoy every minute you can in the gardens, I'm 74 and still going strong in the gardens, though not grand like they used to be, it's still great exercise out in nature in the sun...there are always grand rewards to be had...CHEERS...!!!
Your videos are always a delight to watch. All of you are so happy and appear to be having so much fun. I'm tempted to offer to join you just to share the enjoyment with you. Way to go Ash on the dirt digger! Is there any new task or skill you can't learn to master? 😍
What a labor you have all done!! And don’t minimize what you’ve done. Moving that much soil is amazing. Can’t wait to see what it will look like with all the pathways all dug out.
Amazing progress so far, it's definitely strenuous work and it looks like y'all have some great helpers, It's nice to see the process. Great work everyone!
Check out the peacock proofing the Château de la Lande has done in their walled garden. It seems pretty effective.❤ Ash, I have to disagree on the original placement of the angle iron. The roof has three sides, the apex of which all meet at the façade of the house. It could be part of one of the sides if the entabliture was fastened to it and the degree of bend is greater than 90°, (to account for the slope of the roof it would have to be greater). If it is 90°, it could be one of the upright corners. Judging from the photo, the roofline was just a few inches below the top of the doorframe. The porch door in the photo looks disproportionately small compared to the grandness of the rest of the house. Maybe even 6" or 8" taller would make a visual difference. The whole thing will need to be fabricated so you should be able to make it to whatever dimensions you like.
I someone as fit as Ash is feeling the aches after riding bronco on that digger for a few days, that thing must really be a workout! Great to see the progress you are making and interesting to hear about the future plans for the porch and the gardens.
Ash, I think you are doing great on the digger. You will only get better. You all are amazing. It would be nice yo meet and hear to chat to your volunteers. They are greatly appreciated by us all. Tendons work. The vision is coming to life. Johnathan, well done yourself young man. Tracy, you work ha4d as two men or more. It is cool that you found part of the porch. Take some time for yourselves with the volunteers. I am sure you all feel like an extended family by now. You all have built one huge community of wonderful people who unite together and are creating a master piece. Lots of love to you all.❤
Such a joy to see the garden coming to life. I think you will find you could make another three raised veg beds and still use more. With more beds you can plant more varieties of veg and as you have B&B guests you will need more veg.
Love Love Love the music. So happy!!! The car by the wall really gives perspective on how big the garden is. So impressed with your progress and you're incredible hard work. Glad to see the Canadians helping out. Cheers from Toronto!
What a wonderful video, so much hard work. Great job Ash learning the digger something else under your belt. Everybody has been working so hard. I bet there will be a few radox baths .. loving the gardens
I applaud each and every one of you right on down to Patrick. It's amazing at the amount of work that is done and Ash you're correct, not everything is shown on video. This is very grueling and back breaking and the aches. The pains is unimaginable. I certainly understand but you all are doing an excellent, wonderful job. Keep up the great work! Because we're following this journey and even as it is with the chateau itself, this garden will rise just like the chateau from the ashes. Envy absolutely beautiful breathtaking❤ Love you all and god bless 💗
💕You could also do some longer No Dig veggie gardens lay down minimum 1” of cardboard then place your soil on top💕Cover with netting hoops for raised beds great protection from birds insects & probably lizards as well💕You can also choose other covers as well & remember to leave them room to grow💕
I feel giddy with excitement watching 👀 your vision coming to life, i cannot believe that we get to watch. Thank you , to you and and your other château families.
I love a mystery and you all just keep finding them. The picture seems to show the porch front rested on the last step of the chateau. I think you were correct when you considered that the post you found was the vertical corner posts. The front of the porch seems to sit a bit above the last stair which would make the post you found the right length for the corner posts. If the post is the roof beam, and the porch extends to almost the garden stairs, it would really cause a bottle neck to get from one side of the upper garden deck to the other. If the porch does go out beyond the chateau stairs, it would seem they would have made some sort of flooring at the foot of the stairs like pavers of some sort. Have you looked for something like that? It may help determine the proportions of the porch. What great progress on the garden. It would be terrific if you could open those four doors on the stone wall again. Hopefully the plantings and garden plan will accommodate that if you should do it in the future. Congratulations on all your successes.
Oh guys...I'm speechless, again. Just don't know how ya do it. You have some extra volunteers right now so that surely helps. Speaking of volunteers & extra help...4give me all if I missed it but I assume Rob has departed? Haven't seen him. Stay safe. See yous Sunday😊
You have made tremendous progress Rome wasn't built in a day has they say...the digger has made light work of shifting soil like you said Ash digging up old tree roots...❤
Wouldn’t say the metal piece was for the top of the roof but a side piece, building to the front of the porch. From the photo the roof at the front looks like it slopes back so it would be shorter, just a though. Love we get to be armchair detectives with you. 👍🏻👍🏻
Tracey , I i am a 67 year old woman. It is important for all people to have a passion but I think particularly as we get older. How blessed you are to have found such a passion and also be living it with your family. ❤🎉

Jonathan is a lucky young man to be growing up with such upbeat, hardworking role models !❤️
Thanks Maureen 😊
Cheers to that!
It is really interesting watching a strutchered garden being formed. It makes you realise what hard work must have been done originally, when they had no machinery. The soil looks great. Well done lovely family 🤗

It’s a mammoth task, but if anyone’s going to nail this it’s you guys. I’m loving the plant plans going in so so exciting ❤
The garden is going to be so beautiful. Great work everyone. Exciting about the porch too ❤
Your iron piece looks like a ridge cap for the roof of your entry porch. Great find! Your pathways look so crisp they set a beautiful visual of the garden dimensions. Tough work satisfying results.
Actually, Ash, the amount of work accomplished is utterly astounding! You all are marvels!
Ash you are a born presenter and explaining everything perfectly thank you ☺️ so much for keeping us updated…Was amazing Tracy found a hidden treasure! 😊
Agree!😊
Yes I’ve said that too! Ashe is excellent at presenting. Very natural in front of a camera.
You did a great job Ash! 🚜 I hope everyone takes it easy this weekend... arms, shoulders, back and abs must be aching! It's looking phenomenal. Hi Jonathon 👋 😊
Thanks Jo :) 😊

Yes, Terry is a measurement meister ! 😍
Tracy, your courage, selflessness, and dedication are humbling. Thank you.
Cool music is playing in the background. 🎼❣️
You're a natural in front of the camera Ash. Love your commentary. I can't wait to see the finished product. It's going to look "amazing". Well done all of you.
The sections that Terry sliced and Tracy smoothed out look totally professional. It becoming amazing.

You folks are absolutely brilliant ❤. This is going to be an amazing peaceful, scented sanctuary 😊

Just imagine in a few years once it's all been planted and the plants have had a chance to fill in nicely; it's going to be gorgeous!
Tracy looks so cool driving the tractor. So much getting done with a big team. The sheer scale of the garden is quite daunting!
There is no way it looks as if you haven't done much! I am agog at how much you've accomplished in 3 days. It is also being done the right way!
Oh you do still have the peacocks! So happy to hear that. I would love to see them in one of your videos sometime.

Oh my….Broke out a smile when you showed the painted gazebo! Way to go . Getting excited seeing all the work you have accomplished
Getting a replica of the porch on the back of the Chateau would be amazing Ash. I wish you all the best on that job in the future.
You all really are such hard workers. 🙂 It’s going to be magnificent. Can’t wait. 🌹

Pls try garlic planting now to harvest next July. Then you get more use out of a planter.
I just love your enthusiasm and excitement Ash. ❤ The garden is looking fantastic too. Boy you are all such hard workers. Well done once again. UTB
The roses by the chateau are such a luscious color! Good work guys.
Thanks Mustang 😊
I know, Ash was talking about new gardens and there was that awesome peach color rose there,,really my fav color!
The garden size alone is hard labour let alone the design, as usual you all make it look easy, already shaping up to be beautiful
If you dig out the grass around the stairs you may be able to find the foundations of the portico.
You don't realise how big that garden is until you see the little blue car in the background, great job done by all love the new garden beds,I'm getting excited with everystep

Looking forward to seeing the French formal gardens coming into reality.
The Chateau is going to be amazing with all the hard work you have all put into it. You are all such inspirations.
Your hard work is not going unnoticed. You are doing a great job everyone! So much to look forward to in the coming months and years. Cannot wait! 🎉

Lovely to hear the rooster and see the chicken out free ranging in the new garden. Eating the bugs and leaving manure behind. Win win
Such a joy to watch your videos. You all are such hard workers, and all so excited to see the progress. Hats off to all of you!

Starting to see the big picture now and it’s fabulous. You really do outdo yourselves every single day, love watching your vlogs 💗
I someone as fit as Ash is feeling the aches after riding bronco on that digger for a few days, that thing must really be a workout! Great to see the progress you are making and interesting to hear about the future plans for the porch and the gardens.
Tracy look absolutely knackered in the early scene with the blue shirt. You boys keep an eye on her. I'm sure she won't complain but she is a jewel.
She’s amazing :) thank you 😊
I’m pleased you guys are using the soil wisely via the raised veg gardens-good use of time & strength 😊
Such a lovely host you make Ash I enjoyed your presentation. Great work
Your garden is going to be so beautiful, congratulations❤️❤️❤️❤️
🇱🇷 Sock it to me. Beautiful work. Bravo. Splendid work, everyone.
Id be out there with a metal detector. I have a feeling there's history in that dirt.
I wish I was there helping you.
Watching you all work has me exhausted! Love how the frame works of the garden paths are evolving. Love as always from County Durham xxx ❤
Thanks Glenys 😊
You are all doing a wonderful job. Considering the equipment you have to use; I think you've accomplished a great deal. This is going to be beautiful.

This was great, especially loved the music starting at 4:42.
Love that edit where Ash walks through the door of the walled garden and the camera appears to go through the wall! Very well done!
You All Work So So Hard And A Good Term Tracy Carry On On Works “ So Hard It Will Be Amazing When Plants 🌱 Are In And Grown” ❤
Looking wonderful I can not wait to see it finished.. Jonathan great work helping !!!

A drone shot of the garden would be nice.
You make my half hour bit of weeding now and then look very pathetic. Great work!
Don't forget power cable in the garden for sockets and lighting
OMG. I love Patrick. Love you all too , but Patrick is the bomb. ❤️
Love watching yer progress well done🥰❤❤❤❤
When all is done, I have no doubt that you will achieve a mini Chateau Villandry in terms of a garden. Crack on!
Jack/Jills of all trades :)-even Patrick is in on the action! Love it! way to go team!!
Look at that Mz Tracey. Driving the tractor so well with the dirt wagon!!! Nothing she cant do😂🎉
I was just thinking how amazing Tracey is with her can do attitude.
Tracy looks spiffy driving that tractor, you go girl! ❤❤❤
Thank you 🙏 😊
Johnathan really has the sweetest smile❤
