That is in part true, higher interest rates put a downward pressure on the whole market and especially those companies that rely on a lot of borrowed money, but in Tesla's case it is a lot more complicated than that. A lot of it is tied to Musk selling stock to finance his twitter purchase as well as shifting narratives on the future profitability of the company and thus it's value. As a growth stock that pay no dividends, investors have to guess how much money the company will make in the future and thus how much it can pay out in dividends which will decide the eventual price of the company. Current investors are speculating that they can keep selling to someone else at a higher price and that can only continue as long as the market believes the eventual dividends are good. If that fades away then the will to buy disappears and the stock price falls with it.
Cult of personality did more to drive Tesla to the top than anything they ever created. The one thing they have done that they could potentially fall back on is the charging infrastructure they have set up that has to be netting them decent money. World famous money manager Peter Lynch once wrote in one of his books about some of the ways he evaluated companies he might want to invest in. Whenever I see some of Musk's recent behavior it makes me think of Lynch. Lynch wrote that he would personally visit such companies, take the tour, and ask question. But he also eyeballed the surroundings. He said something like any company where the CEO's office and the building that office was in was TOO neat and classy became a warning sign for him. In his view serious CEOs had serious work to do, and needed serious commitment. They didn't have time, and furthermore did want to waste resources working on or otherwise propping up an empty facade. The best ones, he found, were always interested in defending their company by material facts and numbers - not hype. While the hypesters (and borderline fraudsters) were notable not only by the hype they generated, but also the extra time and resources the were willing to spend on ephemera, like fancy art to decorate the headquarters, and so on. Their desks Lynch thought, should ideally be at least somewhat messy both because they did ACTUAL work there, and because making it perfectly clean, even for a visit from a potential investor, was a secondary consideration. Lynch asserted in his experience the best managed companies existed in a state of controlled disorder where there was no time or interest in messing around with superficial shit. It was how he knew the companies were being run by serious people. Lynch basically came from a pre-digital age, but I'm reasonably sure he would regard the time and inclination of a major CEO to get into weekly social media feuds and trolling as a similar warning sign. Musk is not a genius, scientist or engineer. A CEO's job is to have a hand constantly on the wheel of the ship. If any CEO has time to fuck around getting into petty social media spats and being a twitter twat, that CEO has become a liability. In many cases an active liability if he publicly shoots the company and himself in the foot enough times, but at a bare minimum he is removing himself from the REAL game and advertising to the whole world he is more interested in hype, image and his own ego than his actual job.

I changed my mind about electric cars, but I don't like the fact where they draw the power from, most of the power is coming from coal and gas anyway if it ran off of nuclear power I would certainly switch from gas to electric as the grid is really struggling with keeping up energy demands and it will get worse during the summer time. I live in a area with lots of hills and from some specs I see that electric cars don't struggle as much to move around up there
Sorry this is so late. Your observations are spot on. The green push only wants to solve 1/2 the problem while making the other half so much worse. The grid will never keep up without Nuclear of we go green.
It depends where you live. Even if the power comes from coal, it's alot more effiyand cleaner than burning gasoline or diesel in a combustion engine. If your power is from natural gas, which is more likely than coal, then your argument is really silly. Gas turbines in power stations can be up to 50% efficient. Getting your electricity from natural gas will be way more cleaner and efficient than burning fuel in an internal combustion engine. Obviously the best choice would be nuclear, hydro or renewables, but natural gas emits way less carbon than coal or any other oil based product.
It doesn't matter how long Tesla is going to lead, and when competitors will come up with better technology. What matters is Tesla was a pioneer, and will go down to history as such.

Musk was the first to mass produce the electric car to this scale. GM did it first, but was limited to California and Arizona. Also, they were leased and not sold. These EVs are just a trend. The whole point is to do better for the environment, but the adoption will be so slow and there’s not even enough resources to supply the demand. More fancy high tech cars is not what the world needs. Cities need better design for walk and bike ability, less cars and effective public transportation. This whole idea of selling more and more disposable cars will never really help fix any of the problems we have. Environmental impact from EVs is practically 0 because such little of the population has access to them.
I see Tesla vs competitors playing out like Apple vs Android/Windows/Blackberry. Tesla doesn't need the most market share, as Apple doesn't have the most market share
There are two problems with that analogy: 1) Apple has products only the very highend of Android can compete with. While within the EV market Tesla is already struggling to be recognised as a highend product. Porsche/Audi/Mercedes are already manufacturing EVs that are superior to Tesla for both design, engine, batteries and build quality. 2) Apple entire ecosystem lock in all the users, which makes them superloyal to the brand. I cannot see how Tesla will be able to get any sort of ecosystem that lock in their customers as efficient as Apple does. If you want to make speculations about future trends in the EV market, it might be worth checking out the Norwegian market. 80+% of all new cars sold in 2022 were EVs. Here Tesla's marketshare has been declining for several years, as other auto manufacturers have caught up with Tesla. Tesla was the IT-car in Norway in 2014-2018. But already in 2018 one saw more and more Tesla owners seeking other brands as their 3 year long leasing contracts startet to expire.
Ig he didn't wanna mention that the reason why everyone caught up so quick is because Elon made Tesla's patents free to use for competitors. I assume it was to try and expand the market but I'm pretty sure they knew this would happen.
@operandexpanse OP is correct. The internal combustion engine won out over over electric vehicles due to monopolisation from the oil industry. Read 'Internal Combustion' by Edwin Black.
I'm no Musk fanboy. But I feel like I remember him saying his aim with Tesla wasn't to be the biggest in the market. Just to be the first, to pave the way for other companies to take over in the future.. like an environmental pioneer of sorts. Idk.
I suppose that Tesla pioneered the electric car industry, and became a notable brand. But I guess electric cars became more common across other companies and people.
Other companies have caught up massively in the past 2-3 years. Just look at the range of EV’s on offer now. Prices are falling across the board as well enabling more choice for end users. @Callum Saunderson Yes but the second they put out a entry level model the rest of the industry will collapse. The reason being that tesla is the only electric car maker with a reliable and fast way of charging their vehicles on the go. The rest rely on third party networks which charge slowly and are very unreliable.

TSLA is not just an automotive company its literally 12 companies in one that doesn't hand hold or over-regulate its employees from creating a marginally effecient and well valued product, especially with it's upcoming products in the decade.

It's a nice video about the start and struggles of Tesla but it doesn't state anywhere why he would be a fraud, ending states he might be a liability because of behavior. One other reason for people to choose Tesla cars is their charging network, something that hasn't really been matched any other brands. There's also a variable with exclusion of the brand by other brands and the short selling that has been happening with Tesla stock by major investors for extended periods of time, his stock market announcement shenanigans didn't come from nowhere.

Call me crazy, but I just don’t trust billionaires.
Especially when it's all subsidised by tax payers and they fail to meet any deadlines they set.
He's controlled opposition.
It's not crazy. Wealth is not a basis for being trustworthy.
will be fun watching other videos analyzing this video, while I do not care about musk, there were inconsistencies in this video, and big ones at that too. Well guess time is the ultimate judge. Appreciate using your own voice on the videos unlike some.
A lot of the issue with Elon Musk is that people come into it with a preconceived notion and then find the information to support that. If I wasn't take this video seriously I would expect him to quote in the actual Tesla financials. But I can't. He didn't show any screen grabs from it.
@@Tential1 That would destroy the narrative of the video and the final forced conclusion: problems. While the financials would show (nevermind the stock market, they are idiots) a next level company with 50% growth PER YEAR and MOUNTAINS of cash and INCREDIBLE production capability with HUGE margins compared to others.
If I could buy a Tesla, I would buy a Taycan.
The Emerald Mine doesn't exist, never did. There's no evidence of it. There are no receipts, emails, or anything. His father has been reliant on him and his brother for support for years. Bis father gave him a company that soon failed.
So he did use Twitter to sell his Tesla shares when he knew it was over priced 🤔🤦
Well he tweet about how overpriced it is and he got in trouble. And why he can't sell his share anyway.
tesla is not only about the cars its also about the charging network. Trust me I tried different electric cars and charging stations and nothing comes close to the tesla charging network and its simplicity of use. At least for now.
Yeah for the next 1-2 years a massive amount of other chargers will be installed. I assume that is affecting repairs because they are too busy building new ones but I could be wrong.
Imagine taking over a company lying it's your creation then burning it to the ground?
On the note of firing anyone that criticized him on twitter, who in their right mind thinks they can criticize their boss on social media and not get fired? It's the same as sending out a mass email to everyone in your office talking trash about your boss, you're gonna have a bad time. Great video though.
People are not allowed to criticize their boss? Where I'm from, the Netherlands, that would be almost unthinkable. As long as you respect your boss and do your job you should be able to disagree. Without constructive teamwork people in this country would have drowned again and again.
@@RobSoskop tag you boss with his name openly at twitter and write what ..... he is. Let's see even in Netherlands how long you will keep your job ...

Tesla model Y will be the most sold carmodel on planet Earth in year 2023
People thinking Elon Musk is stupid... Richest man in the world. You can mock the blue checkmark or see what really happened. Meta copied it.
I see Tesla vs competitors playing out like Apple vs Android/Windows/Blackberry. Tesla doesn't need the most market share, as Apple doesn't have the most market share
There are two problems with that analogy:
1) Apple has products only the very highend of Android can compete with.

I like hybrids, still appreciate the convenience of gas.
No auto manufacturer stays on top for ever.
is there a single positive video on this channel ? like in general , just curious . everything's just bad and negative
Everything is fear mongering doom and gloom with no basis in realty on this channel.
2021 was a bull run with both stocks and cryptos reaching all time highs. The drop off isn’t that big of a deal
Pretty much every altcoin has dropped by 90% since then and the stock market hasn't looked this bearish in a very long time.
Fun fact the first car ever made was electric. But they had to do something with all that oil.
Had batteries been invented back then? I think not.
@@operandexpanse you probably should pick up a book
@@clintonwashington8609You should specify a specific book.
@@deussivenatura5805 my bad. Look up William Morrison. He was the one to invent it in 1890
@operandexpanse OP is correct. The internal combustion engine won out over over electric vehicles due to monopolisation from the oil industry. Read 'Internal Combustion' by Edwin Black.
This video contains so many errors. It's basically a Musk fluff piece pretending to be critical. Sad.
I'm no Musk fanboy. But I feel like I remember him saying his aim with Tesla wasn't to be the biggest in the market. Just to be the first, to pave the way for other companies to take over in the future.. like an environmental pioneer of sorts. Idk.
musk says one thing but then does another is nothing new.
The £20k - £30k market is where the growth for EV’s will be and in the UK Tesla simply doesn’t have any share in that section due to the pricing been ridiculously high for an entry model.
@@NigelAndTommyAreGrifters As the electric grid across the planet begins to falter.
Perfect timing for the great reset!
@Callum Saunderson Yes but the second they put out a entry level model the rest of the industry will collapse. The reason being that tesla is the only electric car maker with a reliable and fast way of charging their vehicles on the go. The rest rely on third party networks which charge slowly and are very unreliable.
@@appropriate-channelname3049 And the rest loose money on their EVs except ford mustang-e. all other cars loose money on production.
@-····- Hybrids used to be way more expensive to but now you can buy a Toyota corolla hybrid for only 20k with no subsidies.

The EV-1 was actually really popular, but the company had only built it due to the emissions regulations in CA. When those were eased, they quickly cancelled it, even going so far as to seize and crush all the existing units, despite massive public outcry.

To all the rookie investors, fundamentally TSLA is one of the best stocks to purchase. The current price now is extremely undervalued. TSLA is not just an automotive company its literally 12 companies in one that doesn't hand hold or over-regulate its employees from creating a marginally effecient and well valued product, especially with it's upcoming products in the decade.
I disagree. Most big investors have not been buying Tesla, it may lose more market share, high P/E. Anyone wanting to buy Tesla can do so but do your due diligence

I'm sorry, are you telling me Trained firefighters use water on an electric fire, that's incompetence to say the least, and don't give me they didn't know it was an electric car, even if it was a petrol fire you don't use water, the second it was reported a car was on fire they should have brought the CO2 foam out or at least a chemical fire extinguisher, did they not think 10,000 gallons in if they should use a different strategy?
It's a nice video about the start and struggles of Tesla but it doesn't state anywhere why he would be a fraud, ending states he might be a liability because of behavior. One other reason for people to choose Tesla cars is their charging network, something that hasn't really been matched any other brands. There's also a variable with exclusion of the brand by other brands and the short selling that has been happening with Tesla stock by major investors for extended periods of time, his stock market announcement shenanigans didn't come from nowhere.
