Had one ,loved it I stopped at my local Honda dealer for a minor part and test rode a VALKYRIE INTERSTATE, well that’s pretty much it. We got what we paid the ACE On a trade so it was a win win for us .we rode the nuts off the bike never a problem just normal maintenance.but I did miss the ACE .
I wouldn't be so concerned about the mileage. If taken care of, these engines will last you a life time (it's a Honda, not a Harley) The only issues I've had with any of my Shadows is the poor factory voltage regulators. They run too hot and do not do a very good job at charging the battery, especially if you run any extra accessories. I always replaced the regulator with a Mosfet regulator, which runs a lot cooler and sends more juice to the battery, even at idle. Other than that, keep the chain adjusted (unless it's shaft drive) and do regular maintenance on the bike and you'll be a happy camper!

I haven't encountered any problems at all basically the only thing that has been an inconvenience was that about in october last year my key wouldn't turn but all it needed was some elbow grease and it worked. Just change the oil, the transmission oil, and what i'm about to do next is clean my carburetors to make the bike run even better. but its an all around great bike its not slow its started about every single time I pushed the ignition button and really just a nice bike. hope this helps. if you have another specific question let me know, I like talking about motorcycles.
Dude, you need not worry about the age. Pay attention to the mileage, and how good the bike looks. You can easily tell how well the bike was taken care of. Motorcycles are a lot like boats. Most of them are used very little, and spend 80% of their lives in a garage.

planning to get myself a shadow for daily driving, they are capable of up to 100,00 miles. if driven daily and for long distances.
