I love this! All it needs to be perfect is a few more shots! I see some comments here about Hagerty. It’s like saying Throttle House copied CarWow. Jason talks so much! Is it an 8 min video vs this 5 min? This is straight to the point, no chats, just racing! I loved the introduction with the previous video insert that way people don’t miss anything. Short and sweet! Few more shots on the outside and you have a great format. I hated the 1-2-3 drags before, this is much easier to follow. And thank you for your times. 👍👍👍

Hey guys I’m the M3 owner,
Just wanted to point out after we did the dig race I started to have a boost leak and eventually mid roll my charge pipe seal came off and gave me a drivetrain malfunction so we couldn’t continue. Just bad timing car has been great otherwise.
Look forward to coming back out when it’s warmer as both cars will be able to hook better and deliver better performance/ 1/4 mile times. Great time as usual

@Catholic Firefighter have you heard him talk about mods on cars and referencing bhp on those instead of whp? He doesn't know his stuff when it comes to mods and tunes.
@Catholic Firefighter still that doesn't make him technical or knowledgeable. Plenty of evidence. Heck he sometimes says "close race" when there's a 3 car gap (and growing) over the quarter. Watch Auto Glory channel and maybe you'll understand what I mean about understanding modded cars and race results.

This comment just about sums up how ridiculous this race was.
Cannot see, who was the first to launch from a dig. R8 definitely goes way quicker, than you measured. You need to rerace that, dislike for not enough transparency,
for sure. I've reviewed the launch sequence multiple times and clearly the m3 either started ahead or was allowed to launch first.
I like both cars, and can actually position myself to own either one if I wanted. so there is no fanboy hatred on me.
But like you, I want to see a good clean race with zero manipulation.
I'm gonna to ahead and unfollow this channel.

I like the updated format! BUT please keep providing the action footage from both cars. I'd like to see the actual gaps as they are happening and also seeing the cars ross the line, and not an estimated final result.

Tuned BMWs are temperamental, proceed with caution as expected results are not guaranteed. Fun day as usual at the drag strip!
The owner clarified it was a charge pipe issue. Well tuned BMWs are great but can't always say the same for those on a piggyback like a jb4.

@@m3awd598 I’m 100% in favour of a flash but I can’t have the car sitting while I wait for the ecu to come back it’s just not an option for me right now. Hopefully a local solution comes up sometime soon. Car has been great otherwise doing very nice numbers it’s just a weak charge pipe nothing a flash could’ve prevented

A good stage 2 with ecu unlocked makes these M3 insane lol, used the jb4 and while it was good you’ll quickly see why everyone unlocks ecu

I have a flashed M3 tuned by F80 Paul and my Dad owns an R8 V10 Plus. I can confirm with the flash and tune the car will beat the R8 by about 5 car lengths on a roll.

Always leave positive comments when deserved, first one that wasn't, hit a nerve? Have to be able to take criticism to.... seeing each car as they pull through the rom range relative to others is valuable. Walking in front of cars that are standing there and talking about how many feet one is in front of the other is useless.

Maybe don't shift the R8 1,000+ rpm before redline in the dig race. The first shift you showed was at a little over 7k and the second was at about 8k. The redline is almost 9k and peak power is at 8,500. You're probably leaving a 1/2 second on the table with just those two shifts. Between 7k and redline the R8 Plus picks up almost 50hp.

What da and altitude? My R8 runs 10's @ over 130mph consistently. why is this plus so slow?
He was having a hard time launching, we film in Canada and it was cold & bogging on launch which I’ve seen a lot with this platform. My M3 also normally runs 10’s @130+. We’ll go back out in the summer to run it back 👌
@@laurent36 I have to let the brake go before the rpm's settle for my R8 not to bog and get a good run. It's nearly impossible to time on an arm drop or at the drag strip against another car. Looks like your M3 is definitely the winner in the launch category.
@@laurent36 Even from a roll the R8 doesn't rev the engine up to 8600-8800rpm redline. It shifts at 8000.
G80 m3 runs 11.2 stock, with jb4 should be mid 10,s easily. These guys don’t know how to drive. In the first race we can see shortshifting twice for r8… what else i can say

I just want to confirm that the numbers that you’re comparing for horsepower are relative to each other. Typically when a car is tuned you run it on a Dyno and you quote horsepower numbers as net or wheel horsepower.
Of course, the Audis numbers are horsepower at the crank can you clarify?

The R8 does 0-60 in 2.8s and 1/4m in 10.5s. What is this?
This is your race with no stock tires and a car with a lot of kms. You won’t get that kid of time anymore.
@@SamCarLegion I don't know. Bear in mind that the TTRS with 396hp does 0-100 in 3.4s and 1/4m in 11.6.

Please return to your previous style. The Hagerty style is not well done in your video with your resources we can understand.
I like this style. Previously it was boring. This is not hagerty, Jason talks so much at the beginning, they don’t do roll races and definitely not the same intro. It’s like saying that First Gear copied Top Gear. I love this style, I hope he keeps it. Just needs a few extra cameras on the outside.

Please add go pro shots on the vehicle at least, drones only are not enough to give different prescriptive or add more angles in the finish line. Moreover, I appreciate you are doing rolling and no long intro but to me something is missing. I just want to see this channel improve always that is why I am commenting (which I rarely do). This is one of the few channels I get notification for every upload. Thanks for understanding.
@@yaqdhanhinai221 gopros are the worst for drag races, they distort completely the distance between cars. You think a car is 2 cars ahead but it’s probably 1/2 car. They also have horrible reliability they break down often

Wrong…these turbo BMW perform very well with the right tuning program. JB4 is known to be very inconsistent and I can speak from experience. MHD and BootMod3 are absolutely amazing for these cars especially for the B58 and S58 platforms.

@@bassnjeep6537 funny enough. The average viewership length has gone up by 40% while the videos are 30/40% shorter. I look at the analytics and they tell me something different in terms of total length viewed. So clearly this is a great format. I may include 1-2 cameras inside.

Nothing to do with the ecu, was having a boost leak and charge pipe seal popped off
@@laurent36 that’s early e9x series and early f3x, I never had that issue on my f30. M3s never had that issue. JB4 is tricking the computer into providing more boost instead of actual tuned ecu, that’s the problem.
@@Areku06 he was the owner / driver of the M3 in these video… had a physical issue happen nothing to do with the JB4.

Yeah.. first of all there is no way the jb4 will bump 100 hp ,it’s not a real tune just a smart boost controller that alters the DME and tricks it to give more boost, so the claim that this m3 has 630hp is a complete farse. And the video was pretty bad , everything was from a distance or showing both clusters of both cars. I give this video 3 out of 10.
