can i ask if ballerinas have big quads. thinking of doing ballet but with all those plie squats im afraid my quads will get more bigger. I did a lot of circuit training body weight before at the gym (lots of squats) thats why it got bigger
No, just the oposite actually. When done properly, ballet will actually make your thights slimmer. Plie's aren't squats. you don't sit back (sticking your butt out like squatting), the tailbone goes staight down and the knees go to the sides. Working with the hips turned out puts more emphasis on the inner and outer thighs and butt. Take a few classes, you'll see what I mean. I'm a ballet dancer, personal trainer and nutrition/health coach, by the way.
Barbie Lee All of my exercise are designed to lengthen and strengthen. Squats incorporates the thigh muscles but ballet plies use far more the inner thighs and glutes. Following along with my workouts won’t bulk your quads 🙏🏽

Hello, what is the recommended resistance of the band for these exercises?
This is completely up to you. I usually use a medium strength but on days I’m quite sore I’ll got for a light one. Even without a band it’s tough 🔥
