It is difficult to present a design without the background/history of said design. It’s like showing you Scorpion without telling you what he is, and never pushing his story further, which makes his design stagnant and boring. Fanbase sometimes contributes to the lore part with all the theories, that’s why Fnaf is still around and kicking. But why is their lore so big? It’s simple: when the main representatives of this game’s world are fighting in arenas, which are the only known showcases of said world, it’s easy for creators to run wild with all the possible explanations.
You don't even need to know anything about Tsukihime remotely to enjoy this video. It's so gold that it stands on its own as the downward spiral that one falls into when attempting to comprehend multiple characters who all share the same name or presence within said name. This is a great video, 10/10 masterpiece.

Nanaya is more complex than split personality. It's like if Nanaya is a computer, then Tohno is exactly the same computer, except Tohno doesn't have administrator permission to open some files/programs while Nanaya have that permission.

Nanaya is more complex than split personality. It's like if Nanaya is a computer, then Tohno is exactly the same computer, except Tohno doesn't have administrator permission to open some files/programs while Nanaya have that permission.

Nanaya is nothing more than Tohno's nightmare, something he feared of becoming (a fullblown killer), which is why when Nanaya matterialized, he simply wants to kill anyone he meets, no matter if they're non-human or not, which's not the same thing that happens to Tohno when he's being controlled by the Nanaya blood within him.
