Tested: Silver Jubilee is the best Marshall amp (I dimed it)

- The best Marshall amp ever - could that be said about the Marshall Silver Jubilee? It is used by guitar players with great tone - Joe Bonamassa, Slash, John Frusciante and others. Most guitar playes reduce the Marshall Silver Jubilee amplifier to its lead channel. However, this Marshall amp has so many different guitar tones in it, it's easy to say it's at least a very underrated Marshall amp. However, I think the Marshall Silver Jubilee is the best Marshall ever. And yes, I turned it up to 10.

The natural sustain of a Marshall, even with midgain, is part of the magic. Slash uses it to great effect. You have a great blues/rock feel in your playing.
I really appreciate all the information and how you show us what the tones sound like when you manipulate the knobs that was very informative thank you
Oh man, this is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Came here for the Jubilee then stayed for the awesome tasteful playing. Love my hundred jubilee and it’s a re-issue.
Great sound! And good to see an LP in your talented hands.
You’re the first person to actually make the Silver Jubilee sound good to my eyes. I had a reissue about 8 years ago and sold it because it sounded hi-fi to me, too grainy. And pretty much every media video sounded the same but you demonstrated how to dial in some glorious tones. Made me want another one!
It’s so much about the right speaker with this one. Jubilees are incredibly picky when it comes to speakers.
Fantastic Sound! Great Playing!
Sounds Amazing . Beautiful playing
Thank you
Great plaing, great tone and great video!
I love this channel!
Go to see someone using it properly (through an attenuator).
The master on this amp really start to make a difference at around 8
Love the stranglehold you played here
Fabulous vibrato!
incredible playing and tone!! could you share the settings on the amp from this video? 😎
Love your Tone ... your phrasing is superb !!
Thanks man ❤️
What IRs did you use for this amp?:) sounds killer!
This was always my favorite post-JCM Marshall. I almost bought a 50 watt head and stack when they came out in 1987 after plugging in with a PRS. I just loved the tone. It was everything the JCM should have been and more. I love the Jubilee reissue too. I played a JMP for years, then borrowed or owned a lot of Marshall combos for years. With Marshalls you have to get the tubes cooking. It's just how they are designed. But nothing sounds as good as a cranked Marshall to me. Nice demo, great playing.
Agreed! Got a love a martial
Sounds amazing, awesome playing 👋
Have you made Kemper Profiles of it?
Yeah!!
What humbuckers do you have on your guitar?
You are such a good player!
Very tasty dude , got yourself a new sub bud ❤
What settings on the pots ?
Hello which pickups is in your Gibson?
I got one of these in black tolex from 1996 🎸
That Mid knob on the amp reminds me of Marshall Shredmaster pedal's Contour knob. Very useful for a wide palette of tones. Therefore i'd recommend you to try Shredmaster pedal my fellow lefty :)
1st video of yours Ive seen so far and ot was very impressive Joe.....had to subscribe. 🤘 EDIT: ok its the 2nd video of yours Ive seen and sub'd.
Thank you!
Now that is the sound of Rock & Roll🤘🏽 if only somebody could put that sound in a pedal
Playing so good, I forgot what amp you’re presenting.
Fuck yeah! That amp os awesome, but your licks are not less! Do you have videos with the studio version?.
Cheers from Portugal 🤘🍺🇵🇹
What does the Silver Jubilee sound like? All I heard was other FX.
Loved joe bonamassas tone when he used the jubilees. This reminded me of that. Amazing tone.
Oh and u did mention Joe also. Hehe
In my opinion his best tone is always with just a pair of Jubs.
Perfect demo :) what IR cab are you using?
I’ll do a video about that soon. It’s gonna be the follow up for this.
Please show Logic Pro plugins you're using and amp settings. I would like to try it with my SJ and load box. Thanks!
Hi Joey ! What's the IR of your favorite cabinet ? 😁
Silver Jubilee rocks 😍
Will do a follow-up! Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it 🤘🏻
I'm sure this question has come up before, but why is the silk screen on your Les Paul headstock upside down? Was that a mistake by Gibson or did you request it that way?
It is historically correct! Back in the 50s when you ordered a Les Paul Lefty, they would use a right handed neck and turn it around. Thus it looks upside down. Gibson kept it that way for the reissues.
Hmm OK, I'd never seen that before. 🤔
Can u make a video about how you dim it
sounds great, how is this setup?
It’s good! A little less flexible than my Kemper setup and it’s messy (because I don’t have an amp shelf yet 😅), but the sound is so nice. It’s just different to play a real amp.
What pickups are in that Les Paul?
What cab or IR are you using?
Really it sounds good because of the way you play it.
Aw thanks!
Hey man - any change to get your kemper profile of the amp? would love to get those crunchy/gainy tones...
A couple profiles will be in my shop shortly!
@@joeyjooones thanks bro, really appreciate it🤟
@@joeyjooones is the coffee shop the right place?
Have you tried the 20 watt version? Does it compare to the model you're playing on here? Love the tone but I definitely don't need a 100 watt tube amp.
Even a 20W marshall is unplayable at home unless you're in clean mode
Too damn loud
@@dpajc056 Agreed but I believe the 20 watt version can be dropped to 5 as well.
Haven’t tried the 20 watt version, but heard it’s painfully loud. 5 watt mode won’t make a huge difference I guess, it’ll just saturate faster.
I’m playing a load box so I can dime my Marshall (it’s a 50 Watt model by the way) at bedroom volume. Sounds great.
@@ianhanson85 It sounds thin in 5watt mode, better to leave it at 20watt's and turn down the output master a little.
@@dpajc056 Not the Marshall Silver Jubilee studio 2525. It has a gain knob, a master volume and an overal master volume. This way you can turn it down without much compromise in tone. Sounds better than any one watt amplifier at the same low volume IMHO.
Your solos are so vibrating in my man...
FUCKING AWESOME!
WHY IS THE LES PAUL SIGNATURE UPSIDE DOWN?
Some complain that it is too harsh and is fizzy. (who have a silver jubilee 25/25h mini) Have you or anyone else here experienced this? This can probably be removed with eq then.
If there was a guitar face competition you would win.
What speakers you use with it!!!???
Video about that is coming soon! Subscribe so you’ll see it! 🙃
@@joeyjooones I’m already subscribed, now you can tell me! 🤣
Alright! I will be waiting! Thanks!
which master are you cranking? there is the output master and the lead master
How about both 😂
I own both a Mesa boogie Mark series and a Marshall. Two great flavors!
True! And both so usable!
@@joeyjooones Marshalls are so much easier to dial in. That said it is so rewarding when you learn how to make a mesa sound amazing.
That face in the begining 😂😂😂
My N°1 amp
I bought a new one about 10 years ago for $1000 because of an overstock!
awesome price. The news ones are good, but the OG 1987s are something else..
Is it a 1987 Original or Reissue?
6:33 1987
Sorry, but I've own a few of these in the past (2 x silver one from 1987, 1x black one from 1988 and a JCM Slash which have a bit more bottom end and is a bit darker), and yours sound so boxy, seem like something's wrong, it sound nothing like what we expect from a Jubilee. Maybe it got some mods over times, quite common on old amps
For once someone that can play tastefully!
These are the type of videos that help sell products !
Dang, I have one that I bought at a great price and put it up. I need to break it out and Rock on \m/. Your playing is excellent, Joey! Give us your settings, Please!
Will do a follow-up! Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it!
тот момент когда сам себе можешь сыграть хорошей музыки!😄
Always a lethal combination gibson and marshall. 🙌
Good one "Mark" 🤣🤣
Could you try a video with your telecaster in the future?
LEFTEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imo there are several Marshalls that are better, but it is a good amp. I had several 50s which were nice, and a jcm slash which wasn't very good at all. I think the originals are better and use better components. That said, imo there's nothing that the jubilees do that plexis, or either the single or dual channel JCM800s, don't do better.
Maybe a bit more monkeying around with the faces
