Yeah Yeah Yeahs haven't put out a good album in ~17 years and after their first album being such a classic, I think it must have gone to their heads and they stopped making music that people actually want to listen to. It's great to make music that only you like, but its a bit narcy too. I think the gift of being able to move people with music is not permanent. You have a moments, and some people's moment is longer than others. Karen is still basking in the glory of the first classic album and a decent sophomore album, but 3Y are quite simply not making good music anymore and have not earned the right to claim anything but having made one of the greatest albums ever made. But that is a legendary album, not a legendary band/career/body of work. My advice to any musicians out there: don't fall in love with your cool image. Make music that you believe in, but also make sure it is musically interesting/worth listening to for others.
