Wendy ─ Yuju ─ Jihyo I'm saying the truth based on my observations, I'm a singer too. I can say that Jihyo's voice is UNIQUE and good but I can't say that she can be in Wendy or Yuju's level. Yuju on the other hand has more stable vocals because she often uses her lower range in her high notes, her voice is more lower than Wendy's too. And as for Wendy she has this high voice and she has a head voice which sometimes accompany her singing voice. Her voice is much higher than Yuju and Jihyo so whenever she sing high notes, she reaches it effortlessly. And when Wendy sings, she always feels the song. Every lyric she sang has an emotion on it, even her face says it all. So yeah, Wendy is great
For me 1. Wendy, emotional, stable, in thia video i just found some videos that shows her voice is really good 2. Yuju, she is amazed me when sings ost, but sometimes she is not stable 3. Jihyo, she is good but until now there's no line from her that amazed me as much as Wendy and Yuju do

Wendy Yuju Jihyo Wendy honestly felt like she was the only one not straining herself to project her notes and enjoys it. Yuju and Wendy’s voices are really the only ones competing in this video but since they’re group styles are different it would be difficult to tell unless they happened to be singing the same song. My vote goes to Wendy though since I personally can tell she feels the songs and not just regurgitates what her company feeds her to sing.

Being a trainee for 10 years doesnt really means youre good. According to talent agencies, the longer you are, the lesser you are wanted to debut. The shorter the trainee years, the better you are.

MMA 2016 when Yuju sang Navillera solo beautifully, she had it all (technique, high notes and it was so fluent) I felt the emotion in her voice enough for my eyes to water

Wendy has it all. She has great technique, pitch, tone, and can belt her high notes very well. Her voice is full of emotion and can easily touch your feels, she knows what she's doing and her voice is just so great to hear. And even being compared with Taeyeon, you can already tell the level that she's on. She can pull of any song with such a golden voice, and overall is just a goddess like actually- great personality, voice, and is vv pretty, she's got it all.
Yuju and Wendy are on another level! And Jihyo can't reach as high as that... *ps.. i love jihyo too she needs to improve in vocals and high notes so she can be as yuju and wendy too*
For my opinion the next Taeyeon will be Wendy, they are both small, they are both pretty and adorable and they both sing really really good. I hate SM but I cannot deny the fact that they train the best and talented artists.

Wendy is the perfect for me. She kills the high note while she's dance/move. And her voice stable. Yuju is amazing but when she reach the high note, she not even dance/move(that's what i see when she's perform) She just stay still. Both great and have a angelic voice ❤ For the win is Wendy for me.

Wendy's control and technique is better than the two. And she sings with emotion too. I just salute Wendy. I must say SMEnt trains their vocalists well. Yuju's voice is good too. Her, hitting high notes is like laser piercing you. However I feel like their something lacking with her technique. I cannot exactly point it out since I'm not expert on this field. Also, I think she could work out expressing emotion when singing. I don't know about Jihyo cause I'm not a fan of Twice and I don't often hear her singing. But I think she's okay but not that stable. Yuju's voice is a bit thinner (?) since she was trained to only hit those high notes. The foundation of technique lies in learning to become stable in low notes first, which I don't think she was taught enough it. That's why in strength she would be a bit inferior to Wendy.

Nathalia Bernal Dancing and singing at the same time is hard, which is why I don't judge singers based on their dancing and singing at the same time videos, but when they are standing still or in the studio. Some singers are more stable when they sing and dance at the same time than others, but being stable when dancing doesn't make someone the better singer for me. Wendy's a stronger vocalist no matter which way you swing it. I don't care if her voice shakes when she dances. It doesn't happen all the time. There are plenty of stable Wendy performances live when dancing than there are with a shaky voice. I commend all idols for dancing and singing at the same time. It's not easy to do. YuJu is wise to stop to hit the vocals. Wendy continues to move while hitting the high notes.

*lower register (chest voice):* wendy>yuju>jihyo wendy got quite good low notes that is supported all the way down to F#3/G3 while yuju can only support to A3 but anything lower than that becomes breathier and fades out. have not seen much of jihyo in her lower register but I think she can only support down to Bb3/B3. *mixed register (mixed voice):* wendy=yuju>jihyo wendy got better support than yuju and she can support up to D5 and yuju can support up to C5/C#5 but its just that she doesnt really have true resonance in her mixed voice and yuju have sung an F5 with resonance which is impressive but honestly her resonance isn't always there to be honest. but jihyo cant support above B4. *upper register (head voice/falsetto):* wendy>yuju>jihyo this is the part where wendy really shines since her head voice is one of the best out of all female kpop vocalists. she can support with head voice up to A5/Bb5. her range is big enough for her to do whistles. yuju does have head voice but its just that she tend to switch into falsetto above E5. (overall its better to have head voice than falsetto. falsetto literally means 'false voice'. falsetto is always airy which means you cant have support in your falsetto and your true voice is hiding behind all that air which is why its 'false voice'. head voice sounds more clean and clear and its much easier to control than falsetto which is why head voice is better to have than falsetto). i havent seen much of jihyos upper register but in cheer up she lipsync all the falsetto notes but in ooh ahh she tend to not stay in pitch in her falsetto parts of the song. *overall rank: NOT MY OPINION* 1. wendy (competent vocalist) 2. yuju (above average to competent vocalist) 3. jihyo (average vocalist) *voice:* (subjective unlike the other things ive said) 1. wendy - her voice is very clear and it can sound rough which i like 2. jihyo - she has a unique voice which is nice but she isnt as skilled as the other ones 3. yuju - very mature voice *emotion* (subjective) 1. yuju/wendy - yuju has a very mature voice which helps her get out the emotions easier but wendy has this very sad face when she sings emotional songs and it looks more emotional than yujus or jihyos face 2. jihyo - dont feel much
yeppeun seonyeoyeo yes they are strained but she can still hit them. at least they were not screamed like others in high note battles (like someone in a pinks G#7). a proper whistle note is sung in head voice (not in falsetto like Christina Aguilera or ariana grande) so im sure if she just develop her head voice a lot more she could sing proper whistles like mariah carey.

Yuju: even though she still lipsynced for some parts from her part in GFriend, but her voice is indeed in good level.. If she improves her vocal skill, i'm sure she'll be in another level higher than before Wendy: nothing lack from Wendy, she always hits the high notes perfectly even the lowest note too... even though when she's not in a good condition, her voice is still amazing Jihyo: the fact that she often didn't do her high note in Cheer Up, i think her voice is good too, but she just don't wanna try it live like Wendy and Yuju, she choose to do the choreography and not sing the high note part which makes it wrong technically.. like what Yuju's do, she just focus on the high note so she didn't do the choreo while hit the high note..
it's actually common for singers to skip some lines to prepare for the main high note. yuju literally does her high notes after most of their dance breaks which could cause loss of breath. in me gustas tu she hit the high note after spinning & jumping & in rough, she sings right after sitting & spinning but still manages to do those high notes well. Most vocalist don't do their choreo while hitting high notes even jihyo. I think jihyo has more power than yuju, but just like sinb in dancing, they aren't brave enough to show what they really got.

i like to hear someone's voice/high note when they sing (ofc sing why would they rap tho) if i cry, i always cry when i watch and listen to taeyeon's high note. in this case i do cry a little bit when i hear wendy's high note. kinda got goosebump when yuju hit the high note but didn't feel anything when jihyo sing/high note idek why. so i will say 1. wendy 2. yuju 3. jihyo p/s : dont ask me why im crying, bcs i dont even know why, the tears come out so naturally lol

well wendy has a 4 octave range that is actually the biggest vocal range in kpop and she has whistle notes so I guess "high notes" goes to wendy. if youre talking about belted high notes then wendy can support up to D5 with no resonance and yuju can support up to C5/C#5 with resonance up to F5 which is actually very impressive but either belted high notes goes to wendy or yuju. as for low notes it definitely does to wendy since she can support down to F#3 and yuju can only support down to A3 and jihyo can only support down to Bb3 or B3. emotions and voice are subjective so there for only judged by your personal opinion but vocal techniques are facts and there for can not be judged by someones personal opinion.
For me (i won't get biased now [RV stan here]) they have different types of voices but i'd have to say 3. Jihyo - tbh her voice is good, (and unique) esp when she sings low or normal (i mean not those high notes) i do admire her voice but for me it isn't that powerful, i guess? plus there's only types of songs that her voice can really really sound good. 2. Yuju. Her range is no joke. Mature voice too! Not a fan but whenever i see her perform, i knew she'll sound awesome but i think she's the "voice of korea" i mean how she sings suits the best standard of koreans (like seo or tiff etc. i love them ok) and maybe as well as other people's choices but there are countries where you can find more great singers. 1. Wendy, it's not bcos i love her so much (i dooo) it's actually how her she sings, the quality, the range (bruh) and over all just how her voice sounds are on an entire different level. I have to go with Yuju...I love her voice and of course, her high notes are out of this world. But I don't just love her for her high notes, but also her singing in general. For instance, I think Gfriend's song Summer Rain is underrated. A lot of fans say that it's not as good as their other songs because it doesn't really have high notes. But that's because the highlight of the song isn't the high note but when Yuju sings the chorus. Her voice isn't just high, it can be very melodic. And she is extremely stable. Yuju, I admit, is my ultimate bias as well. Wendy is a very close second. She can pull off amazing high notes too and she has a unique sound to her voice. I think she has the greatest projection out of the three and her voice is flexible. She is my bias in Red Velvet. Jihyo is good and is the best vocal in Twice and she sings high notes well. Her voice has a huskier quality to it as well. But I put her third cause tbh I do find her to be an average singer. This is an opinion from a stan of all three groups. Don't come at me with technique because I don't know anything about that.
if you honestly think Wendy does not deserve to be first then you need to come out of your little bubble and accept the reality. Technique-wise and vocal-wise Wendy easily beats Yuju and both of them by no doubt beat Jihyo who strains herself most of the time.
stan loona jihyo actually has good sense of breathsupport and honestly yuju and wendy has an equal mixed register even though wendy has a wider supported range wendy is inconsistent with resonance which yuju does quite well
Yuju is definitely among my ultimate biases but Wendy is the better vocalist. Wendy is able support up to D5's and is general, more consistent than Yuju in her highs and lows. However, in terms of resonance, Yuju definitely has her beat in that aspect. As of now, Yuju is able to consistently support up to C#5 and has even supported an F5 once! I don't doubt that Yuju could indeed, surpass Wendy. But as of now, Wendy is better vocalist and I'm sure Wendy will improve too ^^
Oh yep~ I know about that. Because of her 4 octave range, she's able to access her whistle register too! Which is really impressive and amazing! Honestly, Yuju and Wendy are on the same level. But, in an unbiased POV, Wendy does have a stronger voice than Yuju. Yuju can hit higher, but her voice is a little weaker than Wendy's, and Wendy can still sing with breath. As for Jihyo, she's an amazing singer as well. Her voice is strong, but her pitches are very breathless. She seems like those vocalists who can be out of breath in seconds. I think Nayeon would been a better candidate to represent Twice's vocalist. So basically, in my opinion: Wendy > Yuju > Jihyo But if Nayeon was the Twice representative, then she might've been closer to Yuju, but maybe still behind. PLEASE DON'T START FANWARS, THOUGH!

Ikr!! The video clearly shows YuJu stopping to hit her notes. People want to point out Wendy being unstable, but try dancing as hard as she does at the same time while hitting those notes. She does a great job in comparison when the other main vocals stop to hit their high notes. I have to keep telling people Wendy does way more than high notes, though. I'm saying the truth based on my observations, I'm a singer too. I can say that Jihyo's voice is UNIQUE and good but I can't say that she can be in Wendy or Yuju's level. Yuju on the other hand has more stable vocals because she often uses her lower range in her high notes, her voice is more lower than Wendy's too. And as for Wendy she has this high voice and she has a head voice which sometimes accompany her singing voice. Her voice is much higher than Yuju and Jihyo so whenever she sing high notes, she reaches it effortlessly. And when Wendy sings, she always feels the song. Every lyric she sang has an emotion on it, even her face says it all. So yeah, Wendy is great

Wendy's control and technique is better than the two. And she sings with emotion too. I just salute Wendy. I must say SMEnt trains their vocalists well. Yuju's voice is good too. Her, hitting high notes is like laser piercing you. However I feel like their something lacking with her technique. I cannot exactly point it out since I'm not expert on this field. Also, I think she could work out expressing emotion when singing.
I don't know about Jihyo cause I'm not a fan of Twice and I don't often hear her singing. But I think she's okay but not that stable. I wouldn't put her on the same line with the two.

Yuju's voice is a bit thinner (?) since she was trained to only hit those high notes. The foundation of technique lies in learning to become stable in low notes first, which I don't think she was taught enough it. That's why in strength she would be a bit inferior to Wendy.

Dancing and singing at the same time is hard, which is why I don't judge singers based on their dancing and singing at the same time videos, but when they are standing still or in the studio.
Some singers are more stable when they sing and dance at the same time than others, but being stable when dancing doesn't make someone the better singer for me.
Wendy's a stronger vocalist no matter which way you swing it. I don't care if her voice shakes when she dances. It doesn't happen all the time. There are plenty of stable Wendy performances live when dancing than there are with a shaky voice.
I commend all idols for dancing and singing at the same time. It's not easy to do.

wendy got quite good low notes that is supported all the way down to F#3/G3 while yuju can only support to A3 but anything lower than that becomes breathier and fades out. have not seen much of jihyo in her lower register but I think she can only support down to Bb3/B3.
*mixed register (mixed voice):* wendy=yuju>jihyo
wendy got better support than yuju and she can support up to D5 and yuju can support up to C5/C#5 but its just that she doesnt really have true resonance in her mixed voice and yuju have sung an F5 with resonance which is impressive but honestly her resonance isn't always there to be honest. but jihyo cant support above B4.
*upper register (head voice/falsetto):* wendy>yuju>jihyo
this is the part where wendy really shines since her head voice is one of the best out of all female kpop vocalists. she can support with head voice up to A5/Bb5. her range is big enough for her to do whistles. yuju does have head voice but its just that she tend to switch into falsetto above E5. (overall its better to have head voice than falsetto. falsetto literally means 'false voice'. falsetto is always airy which means you cant have support in your falsetto and your true voice is hiding behind all that air which is why its 'false voice'. head voice sounds more clean and clear and its much easier to control than falsetto which is why head voice is better to have than falsetto). i havent seen much of jihyos upper register but in cheer up she lipsync all the falsetto notes but in ooh ahh she tend to not stay in pitch in her falsetto parts of the song.

Yuju: even though she still lipsynced for some parts from her part in GFriend, but her voice is indeed in good level.. If she improves her vocal skill, i'm sure she'll be in another level higher than before
Wendy: nothing lack from Wendy, she always hits the high notes perfectly even the lowest note too... even though when she's not in a good condition, her voice is still amazing
Jihyo: the fact that she often didn't do her high note in Cheer Up, i think her voice is good too, but she just don't wanna try it live like Wendy and Yuju, she choose to do the choreography and not sing the high note part which makes it wrong technically.. like what Yuju's do, she just focus on the high note so she didn't do the choreo while hit the high note..

it's actually common for singers to skip some lines to prepare for the main high note. yuju literally does her high notes after most of their dance breaks which could cause loss of breath. in me gustas tu she hit the high note after spinning & jumping & in rough, she sings right after sitting & spinning but still manages to do those high notes well. Most vocalist don't do their choreo while hitting high notes even jihyo. I think jihyo has more power than yuju, but just like sinb in dancing, they aren't brave enough to show what they really got.

well wendy has a 4 octave range that is actually the biggest vocal range in kpop and she has whistle notes so I guess "high notes" goes to wendy. if youre talking about belted high notes then wendy can support up to D5 with no resonance and yuju can support up to C5/C#5 with resonance up to F5 which is actually very impressive but either belted high notes goes to wendy or yuju. as for low notes it definitely does to wendy since she can support down to F#3 and yuju can only support down to A3 and jihyo can only support down to Bb3 or B3.
emotions and voice are subjective so there for only judged by your personal opinion but vocal techniques are facts and there for can not be judged by someones personal opinion.

3. Jihyo - tbh her voice is good, (and unique) esp when she sings low or normal (i mean not those high notes) i do admire her voice but for me it isn't that powerful, i guess? plus there's only types of songs that her voice can really really sound good.
2. Yuju. Her range is no joke. Mature voice too! Not a fan but whenever i see her perform, i knew she'll sound awesome but i think she's the "voice of korea" i mean how she sings suits the best standard of koreans (like seo or tiff etc. i love them ok) and maybe as well as other people's choices but there are countries where you can find more great singers.

I have to go with Yuju...I love her voice and of course, her high notes are out of this world. But I don't just love her for her high notes, but also her singing in general. For instance, I think Gfriend's song Summer Rain is underrated. A lot of fans say that it's not as good as their other songs because it doesn't really have high notes. But that's because the highlight of the song isn't the high note but when Yuju sings the chorus. Her voice isn't just high, it can be very melodic. And she is extremely stable. Yuju, I admit, is my ultimate bias as well.
Wendy is a very close second. She can pull off amazing high notes too and she has a unique sound to her voice. I think she has the greatest projection out of the three and her voice is flexible. She is my bias in Red Velvet.
Jihyo is good and is the best vocal in Twice and she sings high notes well. Her voice has a huskier quality to it as well. But I put her third cause tbh I do find her to be an average singer.
This is an opinion from a stan of all three groups. Don't come at me with technique because I don't know anything about that.
Me too i prefer Yuju and Wendy for high notes and melodic voice, Jihyo has a more darker voices but not bad
if you honestly think Wendy does not deserve to be first then you need to come out of your little bubble and accept the reality. Technique-wise and vocal-wise Wendy easily beats Yuju and both of them by no doubt beat Jihyo who strains herself most of the time.
stan loona jihyo actually has good sense of breathsupport and honestly yuju and wendy has an equal mixed register even though wendy has a wider supported range wendy is inconsistent with resonance which yuju does quite well
Yuju is definitely among my ultimate biases but Wendy is the better vocalist. Wendy is able support up to D5's and is general, more consistent than Yuju in her highs and lows. However, in terms of resonance, Yuju definitely has her beat in that aspect. As of now, Yuju is able to consistently support up to C#5 and has even supported an F5 once! I don't doubt that Yuju could indeed, surpass Wendy. But as of now, Wendy is better vocalist and I'm sure Wendy will improve too ^^

Oh yep~ I know about that. Because of her 4 octave range, she's able to access her whistle register too! Which is really impressive and amazing! But a wider range doesn't always make someone a better singer. Wendy lacks resonance and her support lacks consistency after C#5-D5. But both of them are truly amazing vocalists :)

Honestly, Yuju and Wendy are on the same level. But, in an unbiased POV, Wendy does have a stronger voice than Yuju. Yuju can hit higher, but her voice is a little weaker than Wendy's, and Wendy can still sing with breath. As for Jihyo, she's an amazing singer as well. Her voice is strong, but her pitches are very breathless. She seems like those vocalists who can be out of breath in seconds. I think Nayeon would been a better candidate to represent Twice's vocalist.
So basically, in my opinion: Wendy > Yuju > Jihyo
But if Nayeon was the Twice representative, then she might've been closer to Yuju, but maybe still behind.

Ikr!! The video clearly shows YuJu stopping to hit her notes. People want to point out Wendy being unstable, but try dancing as hard as she does at the same time while hitting those notes. She does a great job in comparison when the other main vocals stop to hit their high notes. I have to keep telling people Wendy does way more than high notes, though. I honestly don't know how she does that head voice/falsetto that she does while dancing at the same time. Amazing!
