Doug the type of guy
oh wait wrong channel
UltimateStance
That comment gets a good DougScore from me.
I thought that Doug won't experience with a Renaultsport unless he leaves for Europe and so did this kind of a video myself :)
That is true. I doubt they have many over there since the Mégane wasn't sold over there, let alone the R.S.250 :P
UltimateStance Doug the type of guy to suddenly become estonian
@@georgegreen1349 they can't get foreign cars due to a 25 years old import ban to protect their manufacturers in the US.
You are Doug DeMuro Jr.
Your English is getting really good man!
He is still mumbling, he puts more value into "sounding like native american" instead of speaking lound and clear.
Damian Toczek bruh he's from a country that is so far from English culture, learn to listen better? I talk to all kinds of different races and cultures and have zero issue figuring out what was said
@@damiantoczek4814 Eastern Euro/RusFed accents never truly fade unless born in or lived in an English speaking Nation from very young.
Trust me 😒
The things I love with French cars, for having a friend with a Saxo VTS 16V and owning a 206 rc, is that as they feel cheap (but don't get me wrong, it's often anoying) it makes them pretty raw. There is no complexe electronic systems or fancy features. Just a steering on 4 wheels. You get to feel everything in the steering wheel and the sound of the engines is awesome, not crazily engineered, just raw. As I got to see those Renault RS, Peugeot GTi and Citroën VTS on the road I love them more and more. They are great "cheap" (or cheaper) hothatches.
They do feel often cheap, but they also usually handle better than their counterparts. I'd go as far as to say the French make the best hot hatches.
French cars are great because they aren’t ordinary, they are quirky with great design que’s. I’ve owned lots and German cars as well and they have all been reliable. The RS has some great design lines running from windows through to doors, windows, etc.
good thing is most of the parts are shared with standard Méganes so it'll be cheaper
also Renault knows how to make good chassis
and icing on the cake, it's pretty exclusive since you can only find them in Europe, unlike the type R or BRZ
Visio De Racer
You should change the rubber bushings of the gear level for solid ones to get the best feel out of it. Cheers!
Very nice video man, keep up the consistent good work
This is a brilliant review. Very informative. Great job. Greetings from Ireland.
Sorry to be that guy VisioRacer but Renaults first hit hatch wasn’t the Williams it was the Renault 5 gt turbo which is a truly great car, in fact there was a quick hatchback before that, the Renault 5 alpine, which went on sale 2 months before the original golf Gti in 1976! The more you know, keep up the great work
You are right, I completely forgot about it!
Renault 5 Gordini was pre Golf gti.
Nice buy, congrats and keep making vlogs, i really like your channel !!!
My Civic Type R (FK8) uses about 8l/100km on average, just regular driving. On the Ring is uses more and on the German Autobahn as well, but then you can go 270, quite fast. Will check if you have a video on the FK8 on this channel, first time I've been here. Like your main channel for a while now. You do great videos, thanks a lot!!!
Great vid. Thanks
Oh my God, visioracer became daddydoug.
Love your channels Sammy! ^_^
I really love the clio rs 200 in green. It looks so good. Thats nice too but the newer renaults have weirdish looks so i like the older better.
Good video. What exhaust do u have in ur Megane. Sounds good.?
Nice vid subbed
I have one of these :) awesome car!
How's the reliability and running costs?
I own one too, coming from honda CL9&CU2. Amazing car, reliability is comparable to any other 10 year old mid range hot hatch really. No major issues. Expect to fix the door lock actuators, change speakers, brakes every 20-25km (standard for brembos) and tyres depends on your driving but expect to pay a pretty penny for all the excellent handling ;) its all worth it in the end for the smile on your face every single day you drive even if you've had a bad day. Enjoy
Wish we got these in the u.s.
I drive this car in my driver's school, its amazing
rs version? Where is that school :P
@@s_hi_kooo195 in croatia, you can serch croatia start thats the name of the school, now they switched old one with brand new rs trophy
I had a Megane Coupe too, non RS. I loved the look, but ...
A lot of small annoyances. Noises everywhere, problems with being leaky, problem with breaks on wet weather, fuel comsumption, ... TCE = efficiency?? Must be kidding!
The cruise control had its good points and flaws.
In my Fords I have to turn it on every time I start the vehicle, the steering wheel has much more buttons so I still need longer to find the right one - liked the Renault solution better - BUT, cancel resume just didn't work so smooth, sometimes the Renault on Resume started to loose speed, after 1-2 seconds it noticed that and started then to accelerate hard over the desired speed etc.
Finally it got stolen, I even saw a monitoring record, the keyless entry was just hacked.
I was not that sad about it, had it about one year and it was like 12 times at the dealer for repairs.
Nice car want one also
Which tyres have you used? Opinions?
According to me:
Bridgestone RE050A: Stable but didn´t last more than 18290 km.
Vredestein Ultrac Vorti: Really floaty feeling, I would say dangerous at higher speeds. When the tread was down to 5-6 mm it got much better.
Next set will probably be RE050A again. My car has the 19 inch rims. Other than that, I really like the MK3 Megane RS.
Currently on Cup2, but I don't like them much, not for the value I got for such money. I am very satisfied with the Yokohama AD08R I had before the Michelins, much better tire for less money with similar wet handling, if not better. Definitely going that way again.
Would be nice to test semi slicks and interesting to hear that you wasn´t impressed with the much praised Cup2. I don´t know if semi slicks are the right choice when you are going fast on motorways and daily drive your car 50 km/day. I guess they won´t last that long.
Thanks for your input!
Yes, they are the right choice for me. It makes no sense for me to put something else on a car like this. I like to push it to the limit :)
@@VisioRacer Very interesting! It seems so many love the Michelin Cup 2. I have some AD08R and think they are good, I've never tried Michelin Cup 2s.
I have a cup 265- how do you check the tyre pressure? mine doesnt seem to have the option :( but has RS moniter
Renault shifters are just horrible just like their materials thanks for expressing my thoughts!
Keep going man i love your videos
Shifetrs or Garbox? Gearbox is made in Japan...
I have a 197 Clio RS. The RS series will feel plasticy and not as ridget because they are built to be as light as possible. If you think your car sounds loud you haven’t heard my clio😂
N/A will always be louder with a straight-pipe, the turbo muffles some of the noise. Anyway, for a daily it is very noisy :)
VisioRacer I love the RS’s even though they feel plasticy you know they are built for lightness and taking on twisty roads
THE BEST MEGANE
W A F T I N G
You didn't mention the stupid "cupholder" infront of shifter. It's positioned such that you can't actually place the cup/bottle straight up because the dash gets in the way, and if you still decide to use it and try to fit a bottle on an angle, it will get in the way of shifter. I ended up kicking a bottle with loose cap out of it when shifting and spilled water all over the place
So true. I use it for energy candies and chewing gum.
Amazing car,in Brazil this car is a dream, a petrolhead yet dream...lol
Nothing is perfect, but its a cool car,the dashboard is very similar to renault sandero RS.
Your car engine is a F4R ?
Yes, actually the F4R M8 according to the papers.
F4rt
Sandero RS -- amazing!!!! :D
I have an 2007 Clio R.S. with the same 2l engine (originally with 200 cv, but I modified it with a turbo from a Megane, now it has 260 cv) and I love it, but the interior are veeery chep, every month broke something. And I have in plan to put an self-locking differential because with 260 cv is pretty uncontrollable. (Sorry for my not so much correct english)
Yeah, an LSD is a need with a power like that.
I drove a lot the base version of Megane and I felt the steering wheel was offset to the seat. Is it the same with this? The suspension was top, but the seats again very uncomfortable after a long trip
No, I don't feel the steering wheel being offset to the seat.
Renault should listen to you!
What intake do you have
Nice i am the first one here even though i didnt even tried
Forge, have this Same Position for it:P
hey! how tall are you? wondering because of the seats :) thank you
180 cm, around 73 kg
máš tam 18" alu disky alebo 19" ? aký rozmer pneumatík ?
Wait what!? F type? Same engine of the williams? Since the F7x is obsolete since 2003 at least, you're saying that is an F4R turbo? I'm amazed to know they still use those engines, only proves that older design engines prove to be more reliable, just my opinion. Proud owner of an F7P xD
Yes, that's right. Today I was told that this MRS3 has the Russian's Renault Master engine block which is tougher and the whole unit is dimensioned for 250,000 km at the redline, supposedly. That is good to know for me having 134,000 km now hehe
what front tyre pressures are you running??
2.2 bar
I have the same car, maybe we can ride toogether some day 🤙
No noise in my 250. Must be something wrong with yours
Yes I think it has been messed with before this owner
As good as this engine is, it's still looks like a big piece of plastic put under the hood. Sad to not see "beautiful" engine anymore.
Wait no Doug score?
you will buy the RWD pack for him?
You need Alpine conversion for that! hehe
What suspension is on your car?
Stock Cup suspension with stiffer Elia springs. In combination with wheel spacers, the car almost totally lost that oversteery behaviour. It does no lift-off oversteer and barely slides that back-end under heavy braking and trail braking. Unbelievable how stable it is with the solid rear axle.
Kokos tak dlho ťa sledujem a až teraz som si všimol že si Slovák 😂
Som, odjakživa 😄
hmm how to get hits. I know! use Demuro's line! durp
I just dont understand why they put only cruise controls on the steering wheel..on a hot hatch? This car isnt a highway cruiser that you need ONLY cruise control on the steering wheel. It would have been much better if it were volume controls or esp off or I dont know literally anything but cruise control
The volume controls are on the stalk behind the steering wheel. Cruise control buttons work well on the steering wheel imo.
Renault is still renault still that oil cap from the crapy clio from the 2000s
Once you drive a Renaultsport, come back and let's talk. Yeah, they are cheap looking and sometimes too expensive, especially as new, but driving-wise there is only a few cars competitive enough. I drove the new 2018 Mégane R.S. and Clio R.S., too, by the way, so I guess I have experience enough to tell.
1.86m and i'm comfy af in that car
Je nutná tá angličtina? Nedá sa to počúvať ako sa s tým trápiš. Radšej sprav titulky a rozprávaj normálne. Bude to o znieť lepšie a aj video bude svižnejšie. ;)
Keby nebola, nie je tam. Netrápim sa s tým, práveže je to sranda a učím sa. Dík za podporu
Ta vrzající madla byla prý vyřešena až po faceliftu. Známý má obyč Megane hatch a problémy tam má úplně stejné.
Posledné Clio R.S. má ten istý problém...
Heel toe is unuseful
I guess it was always like that. Germans do its job very well in every aspect. Build qualitiy, logical configuration of buttons etc. but French or Japanese make more exciting cars (looks, power) and lack in some other departments.
same thing doug demuro says
Heel and toes in a fwd car sure why not!?
Heel & toe (or rev-matching if not braking) in any car, I do it all the time in my mum's Mazda2, too.
TT04 u noob.
Heel and toeing originally became widespread because of FWD rally cars such as the Mini, Lancia Fulvia et al. Without FWD, you might never have even heard of heel and toeing.
@@varmastiko2908 I'm not sure about that. Any cars with gears requires rev matching (i.e., heel toe) when braking hard and changing to a lower gear, or when changing down gears without braking (just a regular throttle blip), doesn't it? :)
Why does he have it on Slovak plates
Because I am Slovak, maybe?
😅😅😅😅 Perfect response
I have given up trying to understand the French...
Brodie Bennett The language or the peoples ?
Wtf mate take it down 😂
interesting Nissan
Actually, more like nissans are renaults.
