Air conditioning tends to fail more if you don’t run it all the time.! As the seals and o rings etc go hard and leak. Also bearings etc prefer regular use.
A minor issue encountered were headlight & tailight seals wear. Noticeable by water condensation in the area of the broken seals. Commonly seen on cold days. It is likely a manufacture flaw along with age. Blocked scuttle drains can occur. Symptom is a musty/mouldy old smell in the interior
Good vid. To add to the common problems: - Lower swivel joints. They make a ticking sound when they go and are a pain the arse to replace. Either buy the whole hub from Renault for $900+ per side, or buy custom made swivel joints from the UK for about $150 and you have to pull apart your hubs and press them out. - Front passenger airbag sensor likes to shit itself. I'm replacing my AC compressor soon but it sucks there's no guides for it anywhere. How did you get to it? I imagine you just pull the whole front end off (front bumper, intercooler, radiator etc)
Great shout out! I haven't heard of those issues so unsure how common they are. As for AC compressor, it was changed by a Renault specialist so I couldn't tell you how it was done unfortunately :/ Try finding a how to guide in French ! I managed to find French RUclips guides for bits and pieces on my Megane when I needed to change them. I managed by just watching the video rather than understanding the commentary. All the Best !
Daily drive mine for a year and half only issues ive had is rear spings snapped, engine mount and mu clutch is on the way out but thats just wear and tear other than that its been a solid car
They are mostly solid in terms of maintenance. As all cars have their issues but in Australia parts are not as common and come at a large cost which can deter people.
6 years does seem like a stretch however I got that from French manual. I personally would change at 4 years or 50,000 km's however the job can be costly. BC RACING COILOVER KIT V1-VA

It depends on driving roads and preferences. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a Sport-performance car rather then a GT-performance car. Yes Brembos are stock. Brake pads are interchangeable with other cars that uses a similar 4 pot brembo caliper.(e.g. Holden VE SS)
thanks for the informative video, I'd like to mention the clutch slave cylinder as the one that could fail, at least more often than the master; and the gearbox mount bolt issue is for RS 250 cars, all 265 and 275 came with better tensile bolt.
Jokes video. “Megane Rs are great. Heres my one” I dont use the aircon in a budget hatchback in case it breaks. I dont use the door handles incase it comes off. 🤯 Its not an antique vase. Most of these end up just doing track days.
I Sold my Megane RS To Buy a V8 Roadster. Check it out ! | ruclips.net/video/uvOnAyd8QQQ/видео.html

Noted !
Can confirm this one. I have this issue on my 1.5tdci 2011 megane.
I’m assuming they’re the same/similar headlights

mine is used as a daily and slight tune pushing 280hp
never experienced these issues
Most people don't ! But the issues still exist.
i thought timing belts get done every 4 years? - what coilovers do you have?

Any1 having evap error causing check enginge? evap replaced - nothing changed
Evap is ? Unsure if I've heard of this issue.

that answers my question it seems like for me a megane is worth it and they are really cheap still. Are those brembos stock?
glad it helped

Great to note ! Cheers for the comment. I figured I'd mix up something BUT that should make those RS265+ owners happy.
Good info, just stop calling it a “Renolt”.
lol
THANK U
You're welcome!
