Plot Synopsis:
Set 51 years before Katniss Everdeen stepped foot in the arena was Cirrus Quell, the 17-year-old District 7 volunteer for the 23rd Annual Hunger Games. The real reason why the Quarter Quell was created.
Scout actually won, but died. *long live cirrus and scout**
Oh my god... I kind of hated Cirrus right through until he asked Scout if she wanted to go home... then I lost it.
This, along with your Finnick Odair film and Weeping Willow, is up there with my favourite Hunger Games fan films.
But unlike the other two you mentioned this one wasn't quick and was drawn out in an episode format

@@noosh9837 Snow became president around the time of the 20th hunger games so overall such a big decision would’ve ultimately come down to him (relating to this fan film of course not cannon). In cannon it was hinted at that the quarter quell was something that was created when the games originally started and the person who wrote them wrote hundreds of cards assuming the games would last.

No wonder the Gamemakers didn't want Peeta and Katniss to die. It would've been a repeat of this one. But overall, the best thing I've seen yet on RUclips Hunger Games wise. So awesome, so epic, yet so sad at the end. But awesome!

Your explanation for the naming of the Quarter Quell was genius! This was amazing!! I was most thoroughly impressed by the flashback scenes and want to tip my hat to the actor who played Cirrus Quell. If I were Suzanne Collins, I would thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving the books so much to do this. Very well done. *bows* Keep on making these films. :)
I just thought of something. In the book they mentioned a guy named Sirius who went mad. I wonder, I wonder... could they be connected?

yes, it was Titus. He went insane and started to eat the hearts, specifically, but because that didnt sit well with the capitol audience, the game makers used a landslide to wipe him out of the games.

What I would give to act in a hunger games fan film... This is beyond amazing...
So thoughtful, it really reached my heart , in the beginning I was like I don't understand why his surname is the same as quarter QUELL so somewhere I figured it out but wow, this film like oh my god they should make a real movie of this damn.

no matter how many times I watch this that last scene with Cirrus and Scout brings me to tears.
It's explained in the epilogue, because of his betrayal of taking his own life and not the Capitol having control of his actions, they make others suffer for his actions. I wrote this piece to coincide with the Katniss/Peeta events doing the same thing except they were stopped (In reminder to the not to be spoken of 23rd Hunger Games). It's all fan fiction though, not to be 100% accurate to the books. Thank you very much! :)
I'm a BIG fan of Katniss and Peeta, but I didn't cry during their movies. But this, this was sad. Congrats, best RUclips series ever!

I really have to praise your work, it is really really amazing! Love it, the ending was amazingly good n' the background story of the quarter quell's origins...very creative and the guy who's acting Cirrus is excellent in my opinion! :) Props
I enjoyed this series SOO much!!!! I rate this 10/10 and this was like awesome, and whoever filmed, acted, and did the work in this, should really grow up to be a professional filmer and actor, and actresses!!

I have a question. Why was Cirrus so connected with scout? He only met her at the end of the games yet he killed his game long ally without hesitation.
Are you talking about gem? If you are, Cirrus didn't kill gem. It was Mai (district 4) who killed her.

I think it was because out of all of them, Scout was the purest. She never killed anyone and he always seemed to be more wary or biased against the ones who had killed more. Also, she offered to help take care of him when the other two were obviously ready to turn on him when he was starting to lose it. Also, I think after killing all those other kids, he might have started to feel like he was losing his humanity, and it greatly troubled him, so in an attempt to defy the people who forced it on him and to find redemption he tried to sacrifice himself to save her.
I don’t think this was about Scout, but more of the realization of what the games turned him into. There he is holding a knife over an ally who helped him live many times. He has nothing to lose. He already doesn’t have parents and he came to the games to be a victor and have some meaning. So in the end, he said screw it, i’m not killing her and i’m not going back. Because at the end of the day, none of them are free

To be honest i thought this was going to be another average fan film on my recommended list,but turns out it's actually good,great job!
Amazing... I've watched this film 2 or 3 times, and I am still amused by it. For being a fan-made film, it is great. I hope you continue doing amazing stuff like this one Joshua! :D
Other than I don’t like seeing the brutality that follows this world (which I realize is the whole premise of the Hunger Games franchise) I wanted to say, @1109films, you did a really good job here. Very intentional cinematography, good set design, acting that showed not told, a story arc that allowed the audience to get to know Cirrus piece by piece
very well done. good acting and good camera work. I also like how the plot had a twist at the end and it began a hunger games tradition. Big thumbs up for everyone who made this

OMG!!! THIS WAS AMAZING!!! Even though I thought only one of them were gonna survive. I wanted Cirrus, Gem, Scout, and that other guy, I don; know his name to win. This is amazing. You did awesome amazing job. This exactly felt like a movie. It was epic that all of tributes that were left alive to fight to the death. I was hoping for one of them to survive. This was amazing. Unexpected ending :D!!!!!!

I still can't get over how flawless this is. It's amazing, especially for a RUclips production, and the script's so exciting and completely blew me away. The acting and editing is spot-on. Suzanne Collins or at least SOMEONE from the production of the real Hunger Games movie should see this!

This was amazing. I watched the whole series and found my self cradling in my seat waiting to see what happened. All actors were amazing, the script seamed so detailed and the moments were planned perfectly to tool with the audience's emotions. Also, the set's were outstanding. This is the same quality as the real Hunger Games itself. Outstanding, I swear this needs more views!!!

So did scout die? I think she did. Well whatever ok? Lol. I loved it. I thought it was really freakin awesome. I loved the end. Cirus loved scout and wanted her to go home, but it sucked she died in the end. Can't wait for your next video

Yes Laura scout died in the end and if you watch the ending explanation it says there was an "empty victory" meaning no one won in the end or no one lived. Thus the Capitol erased all memory of the ending so no one remembers it.

That was a tragic, but heartfelt ending. Really well done. I feel like it would have meant more to the character, however, if it had been that other girl he had initially allied with, but amazing nevertheless
Joshua Chislett, you are the MAN!! you're such a detailed movie creator.the reason you put this thing about how the Quarter Quell started makes so much sense. Because the word quell means "to put an end to". and with Cirrus Quell committing suicide so the girl could go home, then the girl dying making the 23rd Hunger Games have no victor thoroughly defines the word. anyways, thank u for making this.I REALLY appreciate it
so, i watch these parodies,amazing. final 3, 2 of them allies, career kills ally 1, makes ally 2, main chrachter, look at them. main charachter now has adreniline to kill last tribute for their ally. why would you give them that potential to kill you with hatred and vengence?!
I wasn’t planning on watching all the episodes but oh my goodness I couldn’t stop!!! Besides a quick pee break I went straight through them all. Good job to everyone involved making these !

Good job on the special effects, and with completing such a large project. I liked the movie overall, although it was sometimes hard to understand what was going on, especially why some characters' meetings were friendly, while others went as expected. I liked your conclusion, and tie-in to the idea of a Quarter Quell.

that is what I thought it is better than the actual source material and I wish this would get the attention it deserves.

Really REALLY great story. Actually, it kinda makes sense:
1st Qtr. Quell - Voting for their tributes: Cirrus was a volunteer. It's like saying "because a volunteer messed up, you districts have to volunteer someone".
2nd Qtr. Quell - 100% more tributes: No one won in the 23rd. To pay for that, they send twice as many.
The 3rd was obviously meant for Katniss, but still. Great job, it actually felt like it's canon

I don't know how you did it, but whatever you did to make this story was great. the ending was such a surprise, I actually thought she was gonna live. but when that cannon fired and it ended, I sat here with my jaw dropped in shock. BRAVO!
this was over all amazing!!!! loved this more than the actual movie! You should make more!!!!! The acting was perfect as well as the editing and filming! I love this so much! The camera was so much more controlled then it was in the movie! Gosh! SO AMAZING!!!!!!

This was such an amazing story. It really built as it went along. The ending with scout was so emotional. It really makes you think about these "tributes" comforting each other in their final moments. He was defiant, he rebelled against the system. And it was an amazingly crafted story. Well done

Welp! I'm in tears now. This was so beautifully done and I loved how it explained the Quarter Quell. I feel as though Suzanne should make a shout out to you guys. Well done. Well done indeed.
This was well done. The only negative thing that I can say is that I cared for all the characters equally for a lot of the story, since they all found themselves in the Hunger Games. Here is why: Cirrus didn't stand out to me as the principle character out of the group that I should root for until the dream sequence that revealed his motivation. We saw him get attacked and beaten up by other tributes, but all the other tributes were probably getting attacked who we weren't following on camera, and they could also be seen as underdog hero type characters. I don't know that you are going to change this or not, but if you do, I would actually get rid of the narrative in the beginning and show him trying and failing to make ends meet in District 7. Maybe he was homeless and didn't have enough to eat because he was too young to find work, so he learned how to stealth so he could steal from people?
I balled my eyes out at the end of this... I love Cirrus and the story of the Quarter Quell. Makes it super sad and really awesome of him.
Three of us watched all six episode with full attention. It kept us totally entertained. Job very well done, on all fronts visually, placement of music, dialogue etc...
