- Thanks to an upcoming PS5 firmware update that finally sees the integration of Discord on the console, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 console gamers can party chat with each other directly from their preferred consoles.
Here's how to use Discord to cross-platform party chat between Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Nice! Finally a possibility to play and voice with friends on both consoles! Both colsoles are great! But it's like Android/Samsung v.s. Ios/iPhone. People choose what they are use to. I am really glad to see that cross-play finally works

How do you switch between discord and game chat while in game without going through the Xbox menu/standing idle in game to switch in Xbox menu. Is there a way to set up the screen shot button on the controller to switch between discord and game chat???

I think the only way you can talk to ur playstation friends threw ur xbox is have the playstation app on ur phone i thought about buying me a xbox concole and having my playstation plus expire. I can talk to my PS friends on my phone.

You'll have to have some sort of input if you're using Xbox/PlayStation voice chat. So most likely, yes. If you want to stick to your phone you don't need to transfer it to console - Craig

@@briancotter7179 So what happens is it transfers the call from your phone to your console, so whatever input is plugged into your console is what it's been transferred too. If that makes sense? - Craig

Why not just call on your phone?
Because then you can’t hear the game and your friend through your headset simultaneously

Update: Apparently PS5 is getting it only. Just more proof that PlayStation gives no fucks for its customers, this is exactly why I prefer Xbox bc they're actually giving it to Xbox One users too. I can't stand Sony
