  • How to Read Carp Bites - Underwater Footage. Do you know how to tell a real carp bite from a false one? When carp are milling around underwater they create a lot of disturbance and they knock into your line or feeder which creates what we call "Line Bites" or "Liners".
These liners can easily appear to be positive bites and many anglers will strike an these indications. When they don't hit the fish, they get frustrated and don't enjoy their fishing as much as they could if they learned to identify real bites.
So what's the trick? There isn't one. All you have to do is understand what is going on underwater and how that affects your float or feeder.
In this video I explain exactly what is happening, so the next time you go fishing you will understand when to strike and when not to.

Great shots of them feeding. I agree it is so tempting to strike as soon as it dips.

Hello fellow angler. Now I, even from the start of my professional fishing career have I ever had to keep striking at liners as we call them especially not with a Feeder. I have a bait runner reel and don't use buzzers which I could understand why you feel the urge to pick up. Just sit on your hands until the rod is definitely bent or pulling line off of your bait runner. I don't know how people fish without a bait runner reel
Mine are the older Shimano aero 4000 gt and are brilliant . They have the drag at the back and not the front but I don't use the drag even on my Daiwa tdrs. Tight lines 👍
