- The focus of this tutorial video serves as a reference to help Oakland University's ISE students to learn how to define a robot in Siemens Tecnomatix application - Process Simulate. The tutorial gives a quick demonstration on importing a CAD model as a JT file, and then define its kinematics. Following actions needs to be taken to achieve this task;
- Define parts in the model as links and define kinematics tree
- Define the type of joints (prismatic or revolute), and apply various constraint as applicable to the robot or gripper tool
- Create new poses
- Derive joint angles for each joint of the robot using concept of forward kinematics
- Use Robot Jog tool to understand the concept of inverse kinematics
