Does Behaving Badly Make You Bad?

  • Well, no. It doesn't.
But more importantly - when did you realise that? And do you practice that knowledge in your day-to-day?
And maybe most of all: if you judge someone's behaviour, are you sure you know the full story?
Love to all of you out there

if people aren’t their actions, then how would you judge if they’re good or bad? purely belief or benefit of the doubt?
also, odd mistakes/bad or wrong actions don’t make you a bad person (of course) but if certain behaviours are continued then surely that’s justifiable to view said person as bad?
very much miss being in your class eddie! hope you’re doing well and merry christmas :)

Great questions Ell - ones that have kept people taking for many centuries, if not millennia!
The question we must ask is: to what ratio do intentions and consequences impact on morality? Is it enough to have good intentions, or to achieve good outcomes alone? Not easy.
Personally, I feel a clear conscience if I knew that my intentions were good, and I couldn't have done any more than I did. But that's just me!
      I hope you're well :)

Hi Eddie. This request might be slightly out of place, but I'm currently writing an essay and thought that you told us how you used to structure your essays at uni. I think you use the DOOR acronym to structure the introduction? Could you please remind me what it stands for? Also you had something for main body as well as the conclusion. I hope you're doing well. Thanks a lot!

Hi Mik, it's a bit out of place, but why not?
      Define, Options, Outcome, Reason.
      Point, Evidence, Analyse, Criticise, Evaluate
      Summary, Opinion, Furthermore, Triumphant end.
      I hope this helps!
