@@eaglepointewesthoa2072 Don't forget the parents, who are more important in the decision than the player. Parents want a mature, stoic adult, not a cheerleader. Freeman is in WAY over his head!

That’s a 20th century approach to coaching. It’s been starting to disappear slowly due to the fact that recruiting has now become more important than ever. You can’t just seem good anymore. You have to prove it and have people that make a good impression. Literally everyone loves Freeman. The recruits love him, and as a result we have top 4 classes coming in the next two years. He’s the definition of making a team a family and a family will play hard for each other. Freeman has already done an amazing job with the defense. He is pioneering this new style of coaching.

@@megaladon5203 It's human nature for boys to crave adult male leadership. It will NEVER go out of style. Yes, they may like his style as a fun-loving assistant coach, but not as a head coach.

@@francisdashwood1760 I guess time will just have to tell. It’s definitely hard, but when you use Freeman’s coaching style right, it can be deadly. It results in better recruiting, less transfers, and less leaving for the NFL early. Freeman’s goal is to get this team to the point where they will die for each other, and so far I think he’s accomplishing that.

I think Fickell may already be coaching in the B1G by then anyway and possibly elsewhere, unavailable -- so many big programs are desperate for a winning coach.

Kirby Smart, Dabo Swinney, Lincoln Riley, Jimbo Fisher, and Bob Stoops are some names of coaches that had *zero* track record. While coaches like PJ Flick and Chip Kelly are coaches with track records who are struggling. Dan Mullen just got fired and he had track record.

Lincoln Riley didn’t have head coaching experience before Oklahoma, and look how he turned out: one of the best head coaches in cfb.
