Snow White wasn't even fazed by being betrayed. Despite all of the horror everyone had endured, she never lost sight of her objective.
From saving The Ark, to killing the Queen.
Wayward and restless, she carries on.
"Of course I am. I can't tell you how furious I am. But we're the Goddess Squad. The Goddess of Victory. Mankind's last hope."
Best character.
Snow White's already endured a Mind Switch (presumably with the loss of Lilith and/or the disappearance of their Commander and Red Hood). The rest of Goddess Squad callously joke about how it "made her more reliable" early in the event story. Her personality's already been muted to help her deal with the intense PTSD she got before the event.
And she says it's because Dorothy taught them that... Then Dorothy, although devastated, seems to have found some solace with her comrades. Then they split and you see her broken again... 😢

The Final Scene of Dorothy looking at the sign "WELCOME TO THE ARK" feels so bitter. You can't even blame her for the way she is now. Abandoned by the very people the promised you paradise. After all the sacrifices they made, the pain and suffering they experienced; all of it was for nothing and they were cast aside like garbage.
It's even harder hitting when you realize that these are the war vets of the nikke universe, can you imagine US war vets being thrown in the garbage like this

I was like "f*ck the ark" as well, but then Red Ash event happened and made me questioning, which one is the enemy really? Goddess Squad abandonment became more complex and not straight up black and white anymore

This hits hard the first time but hits harder when the goddess squad separates in the story and in the event you don't see their mini figures in the map. :c

I decided to roam the map one more time before doing the final chapter.
Only Pinne was there. She wasn't talking.
Then Pinne disappears again too :c
The updates to the map as you progress with the story was masterfully done. Snow White getting down from the tower, the plant growing, Pinne walking around when Dorothy was talking funny in Story 2, Pioneer trio disappearing from the map after they leave while Pinne is at the gravesite. Then finally, Dorothy all alone.

@@SecondCom1ng dont know how far you are in the story or with some bond stories, but in one, its explained that each nikke has different degrees on tehir NIMPH regarding orders, some will take the actions and never question or oppose, while others have some major range of free will, and tehn you have certain ones that can bypass it or simply have absolute free will (the last 2 being different cases)
@@HaxeRain I'm ~midway chapter 20 currently, taking it slow (and finally got some levels).
If you don't mean the whole Exia bit then no, probably haven't seen that (or don't remember it). Thing is, they-the Goddess squad, were the first ever NIKKEs manufactured, so, if anything, the humans should know every detail about them (unless something super secret went down). I guess it's possible, given the emotional strain (and/or Mind Switc(es) ) and stuff, for them to develop some degree of 'independence'.
Something else that doesn't click to me is in the discussion, Oswald spoke so proudly about the "new generation of NIKKEs" they're developing and that they'll be better than them (Goddess)-however, this doesn't seem to be the case as the new NIKKEs from the Ark seem helpless against Heretics while Goddess seem able to match them (as well as Eden NIKKEs since they come with advanced technology); unless he meant compared to the mass-produced ones.

This song in my opinion feels bittersweet. Contrary to Dorothy's desire for "retaliation" coming from her frustration, sacrifices, and feeling abandoned by the people she loves, this song conveys the message of acceptance, of letting go, and maybe sincerity. The lyrics as we can see really portrays the struggle of the goddess squad and how the try to amend with their anger and disappointment towards the ark who and their role as the "beacon of hope" for humanity, hence the lyrics "This is what we are" and "This is what we vowed" coming after "Smoke and dust, our path is falling down" and "Defection, meaningless victory" and also the "Ascend, a tale finding what we mean", a depicting image of the being a goddess who bear the hope of the whole humanity.. well, maybe i was just getting too deep into this one XD, well this song will remain as one of my favorite Nikke's ost

I don’t think no event has actually messed with me on such a emotional level like over zone has. I literally feel uncomfortable and depress just walking around the over zone map with no one around but just Dorothy. No manufacture Nikke, no Snow White, no Scarlet, no Rapunzel, and no Pinne… I seriously hope Dorothy can find some closure because she didn’t deserve how the ark treated her.
I know how that feels that was so dad to see from the beginning of over zone you see so many niikes we know slowly start to go one by one until Dorothy is all alone

After playing through the first story, it really gives a lot of contexts when going through Dorothey's Bond story. Ultimately, we can't blame Dorothey for her cold, manipulative demeanor or her irascible behavior towards us since it was humans who betrayed her and her squad in the first place.
Well, i was taken aback that she's a character that actually expects and demands treatment as a Goddess. She still has her memories as a human too so that seems really twisted to me. Did that original Goddess squad have that kind of cult following back in the day? It'll be harder for her not to be let down.
Imo ultimately she wasn't wishing for "goddess treatment" literally, it's mostly a way to keep herself and nikkes who fight alongside her motivated
If she was really that greedy I think she would've reacted differently towards commander's efforts in her bond story, besides the fact that towards the latter half they really seem to be trying to hammer down her sentiment of "still loves humans for all their faults"
@@seija8588 Dunno. Her lines kind of give a feeling that she was somewhat fanatical in her beliefs. Did they lock her out because they were terrified that she was out of control? I otherwise can't understand why the Ark would cut off basically their most effective fighting force. Maybe it has something to do with Red Hood. She apparently wanted to destroy the Ark. Was she corrupted or did she have a legitimate reason to attack the Ark? Perhaps something to do with their Legendary Commander? Did the Ark leaders discover what his blood could do and harvest him for research and development?
@@jljl4560 that was just her copium and they got rid of them bcus they started to build a new generation of Nikkes, the Ark did see them as obsolete models at that point
@@jljl4560 they locked them out because they have no use of them. No need to sugarcoat things because it is what it is. They are developing newer generations and might as well use the older ones to protect them while they are sealing the ark.
Regarding the goddess, it is more of a motivation she used to rally those who fight in the surface. To give them purpose/hope that after the hellish nightmare, they will be enjoying their lives in peace within the Ark.

I just returned to the game, and frankly.. this half year anniversary and the PC version made me really love Nikke. I almost regret not sticking with the game early on, but more importantly, am here now.

this game is a trap. it makes you think you're playing another waifu game and then you get a story about the fucked up aspects of humanity and the pain and feels of lost and mental instability and it tears you apart. it really makes you want to care about each and every character.

@pasunnapaz9311 I'd say counters actually had experience vs a heretic imo its not plot armor more like they at least know how to survive after everything that happened. I remember a part of chapter 21 where Anis challenged Noah in a fist fight without the high tech weapons and she backed out lmao.

Honestly this half anniversary was amazing. And to think Over Zone was going to be this good I was overall impressed, and crying in my seat with how good and emotional this story was. I really appreciate that they made it really easy to get through, and experience the entire story for newer players and old players. Also this is the first time we got a 2nd chapter for a side story considering all other side stories were only 1 chapter long (they were still good). I love this story cause not only did we get origin story of the Pilgrims, and a bigger scope or the lore of this game. Also we finally learn the story behind the "goddess of victory" which gives the title so much more meaning that it is worth playing. Shout out to the developers for creating an amazing send off for this half-anniversary. The future 1 year anniversary I can't wait for what in store. Shout out to my fellow Commanders as we fight to take back the surface, and love our favorite waifu's in the process.
P.S. This song is banger and emotionally thought bringing and fitting for the story(If you haven't played this game definitely worth playing).

(Warning: this post is very long, but I have a lot I want to say and get off my chest, so if you somehow get to the end, thank you for your time)
I’m rather new to the NIKKE community (like really new, I’ve only been playing for a little over a month), and tbh, I’m already in love with this game. I thought it was going to be a typical anime game that I’d get bored of within a week, but in my one mere month of playing this game I’ve already been treated to good music, very well designed characters, good graphics, mechanics, storylines, etc., and Over Zone is no different.
At first, I just skimmed through Over Zone’s dialogue because it was late and I was tired, but I’m really glad I didn’t. This event was extremely well written, the dialogue and heavy themes made me want to cry, but I pushed through, and I’m really glad I did.
I had just gotten to the point in the game where you first meet Snow White, so it was nice to see some background on a rather mysterious and interesting character (Snow White being a foodie and unable to stop herself drooling when she smells food is absolutely adorable, and really humanizes her in a way the main game (so far) hasn’t). I was always curious as to why Dorothy and Inherit weren’t fighting for humans like the Pilgrims were, and I got a pretty good answer. But the worst of all… Pinne.
Pinne was something very precious to the event’s campaign. She was a mass produced NIKKE, and thus considered “expendable” as she could easily be replaced. But her mere existence implied that all mass produced NIKKEs have names, personalities, interests, and even friends. It really changes your perspective on mass produced NIKKEs into seeing them as more human than before. Pinne was a kind, understanding soul, who cared about her teammates and wanted to protect them, as that was what she was built to do. When Dorothy promised to taker her to the Ark beside her, it warmed my heart like never before. So you can imagine how I felt when she…
“fulfilled her duty”.
What was even more heartbreaking was seeing Dorothy act as though she was still there. She still held conversations with Pinne, still not wanting to believe that she was gone.
And then the betrayal. I kind of knew it was happening, like at the back of my mind, I knew it was going to happen, but I ignored that feeling. Seeing how enraged Dorothy was, seeing the Ark, the humans they worked so hard and sacrificed so much to protect leave them behind was devastating. Shock turned to tears as Dorothy begged them to at least let Pinne in, trying so desperately to fulfill her promise to her best friend, only to be shot down again.
The team’s break up was both tragic and bittersweet, everything they had worked hard to build for those months was now useless. They all broke up, going their separate ways but promised to stay in touch. Dorothy, however, was hardest hit. She lost so much in so little time, she just wanted to hold onto this little slice of paradise she built, but ultimately accepted that she needed to move on too.
When she stands in front of that sign, “Welcome to the Ark”, she laughs, feeling nothing but contempt for the humans who took so much away from her. She promises to be better without them, and that she’ll never forgive them for what they did to her.
This song is perfect because it encapsulates all that, all the pain, all the suffering, the sadness, sacrifice, and betrayal that Goddess Squad was forced to endure. It’s perfect because it captures the essence of a new beginning, both for humanity and Dorothy. The fight isn’t over, it’s just entered a new chapter. What will happen next? Only time will tell.
To me every mass produced nikke is important. From the one trying to recover her friends minds in time or the one who wanted a Christmas tree because somewhere in her memories there was a time she was happy and the tree reminded her of her family.
@@AlexPerez-tt9ru Agreed. That’s one of the things I dislike about how NIKKEs are treated. The “unique” NIKKEs are sometimes treated like humans, but the mass produced NIKKEs are almost always treated as expendable. It would be one thing if the were clearly just machines with no thoughts other than “Obey the Commander”, but numerous interactions with them prove that mass produced NIKKEs have personalities, feelings, and friends, which makes it more sad.
Yea I got back into the game for Nier collab but Over Zone really got me invested in the story.

Overthrown by reality where the ark, the one she fighting for, the one reason why Pinne died, not giving anything back.
All the rest of the goddess squad had suffered it first, especially snow white, but dorothy suffered the most.

This event is a reminder true heroes dont desire rewards or recognition. Even if they break, even if theyre forgotten, even if theyre betrayed theyll keep pushing forward as beacons as hopes
It reminds me of that scene in Breaking Bad, where Gus told Walter that a man provides for his family, even if he is not loved, appreciated, or respected.
Obviously Nikke's aren't dudes, but it just goes to show how much of a tough front you have to put up as a hero. What they're doing is for the greater good and there's no good ending for them
The devs, please bring back the Over Zone one day. I got into the game literally as the event was ending. I’d love to experience this story .
For now, SHIFT UP considering to make all Past Events been accessible for newer player, who miss those Events. So yeah, hope they will implement that someday. Just be patience for that.
FYI, besides Overzone, Miracle Snow (Last year Christmas Event) is considered as 1 of the best Event in NIKKE too.

Even after the event, her dialogues in Command Center/Eden is pretty much justified how angry she is. I will never blame her.

To the Central Govt. and everyone who agreed to this as Oswald said yeah, but not dooming everyone in the Ark by breaking it open (although many in there are just privileged people; and we're told Raptures actually know the location of the Ark but don't attack due to a deal with Chatterbox and Einkk, however we don't know what will happen now that Chatterbox's Deadge)

One of the best prequel stories I've ever experienced, and it comes from a mobile gacha game with waifus and a lot of ASSets!
I'm glad that this game has a story reply mechanic because I've missed this one. Took a long break, then came back on the Red Hood update. I just got to say that I loved it from start to finish. So far, these tear jerking stories are done right. In my opinion.

Am I the only one who thinks it was HIGHLY irresponsible of the other members of goddess squad to split up and leave Dorothy alone when they KNEW she was cracking and was so far gone that she was hallucinating Pinne as a coping mechanism
I think Scarlet was going to go back but Snow White stopped her. But yeah, not sure why they would leave her on her own like that
well, I'm pretty sure they all were in similar straights and did not feel they had the right or answer for hers I think. Snow White was not sleeping and trying to keep busy I think to keep her mind focused elsewhere. Scarlet was pretending to drink because I think she wished she could in that moment. Rapunzel didn't know what to do and felt unable to do anything so she prayed for the fallen. While they didn't come out and exactly point it out, I think they all were in the same boat and coping in their own way.
Glad I'm not the only one that thought of it. Although I agree with @ExMerc that they were all trying to cope in their own ways, by the time they knew of the Ark's betrayal, Dorothy already helped them get over their anxieties (atleast to the point of them moving past their coping mechanism). It's even emphasized by Snow White telling Dorothy while she was breaking down that Dorothy herself taught them that they need to persevere, be strong and hold their heads high as they were Goddesses, Mankind's last hope.
I can't think of a valid excuse for leaving Dorothy alone other than prioritizing finding the Rapture Queen as efficiently and as soon as possible. But that is a bit too cruel of an interpretation for my tastes, I don't think the Pioneer trio are that heartless. The least they could do is atleast have 1 of them accompany Dorothy until she's stable enough to walk on her own.
@IrMaXuS I don't disagree that someone should have probably stayed with Dorothy a bit. I'm not so sure that the others really are past their own coping outlets though. What we see in the story and side stories is they're still pretty much doing what they were during this. Snow white is always busy. Scarlet drinks. Rapunzel makes trips to pray for the fallen.
To me it feels like that's what this event is trying to also show us, that some of the quirkiness of these Nikke's personalities we've seen and known is really them still carrying that weight of all this.
@@irmaxus8475 yes I agree that there would have been some grounds that they might have believed she was fine before the arks betrayal, they all recognized that hallucinating Pinne was a coping mechanism and to just let it be for the moment…….however there was a CRIMSON red flag upon learning of the arks betrayal and that was Dorothy first reaction was to blow open the sealed entrance way to murder the heads of the ark…..and when the representative pointed out that if she did that she would doom humanity, instead of backing down she used that as leverage to try and force them to open the door. Snow White had to step in and make her remember her role as a member of goddess squad and what they are fighting for. If Snow White or the other members of goddess squad were not there she very well might have attempted to breach the door and condemn the ark…..Dorothy upgraded from someone just coping to someone who could easily become an active threat to the ark
I’m so glad that despite being a new player, I chose to use the record player thing to play overzone and the impact it had on my affection to some pilgrims
