Her articulation is insane. Especially considering how it seems like she's not even touching the piano. Her hands seem to float just above the keys. Remarkable.
To those saying this was messy execution, I just want you to know that this is a live performance invitation, and during this time, she might have been invited with so many recitals within a month. So she doesn't have all the energy to prepare for all events. So please understand that this is not a Studio version where you make is exactly perfect as it is. or a Competition preparation to portray perfection! Just like any other singers out there they worn out, so does Valentina. I'm a pianist myself and there are so many things to consider to perform, no.1 the type of piano to get used to. no. 2 The mood of your day, no.3 the amount of Rest and Sleep no.4 the type of music piece to play. She might have played this by memory only, and did not really prepare a lot for this. But she manages to play it with ease and with her awesome skills. Love her so much
4:08 I’m so in love with how she resolved the tensions by decaying strength in her right handit’s really beautiful really sensitive way to play that i haven’t seen anywhere for that moment
Dear Rune! I am, as many others, very thankful to you for having the opportunity to watch this good recital of Valentina. Video recording is very good as much as the foreshortenings. It is really cool and in some cases can be very helpful for others to see the pianist's hands from different angles. Thanks again!
Valentina plays this work better than anyone in my opinion. Her touch, feeling and impeccable technique are transcendental pianism of the highest calibre.
If you know the history of this piece, this is even better. Gaspard de la nuit (Ondine is the 1st of the three movements) is a masterpiece. It is based on poems by Aloysius Bertrand, and I encourage you to read them ! :)
There is a lot to criticize but also a lot to like in the performance. The ending is specifically marked not to slow down, yet she slows down a lot. There are a bunch of wrong notes and wrong patterns, such as in the opening and the first pseudo-glissando, and wrong notes throughout, and a pretty weak glissando around 4:50 on the black keys. The climax died off awfully quickly. But there is good stuff too: some originality in the crescendos around the 1:00 mark, a good and faster tempo than I usually hear around 3:20, and an overall sense of watery evocation. And this is an encore, rather than a recording session, we keep in mind. And this piece is very difficult. Of course the Bosendorfer piano seems remarkable and well-maintained and tuned and up to the task of the piece.
Can't say I particularly enjoy this rendition. Not because of all the wrong notes, but the actual tension in this incredible pice isn't quite adequatly portrayed, there's little of an arch over the entirety of it. Maybe I'm just to spoilt by Argerich's masterpiece of a recording.
Masterful. Magical. But she only practices 12 hours a day AND has a photographic memory and perfect pitch. Even with all that talent she still works harder than most.
I don’t think the Russians understand French music AT ALL.… Horribly percussive and messy rendition that’s not accurate with the score in the least! There was nothing magical or engaging about this performance.
@@katerynataier-ulianova8462 right, but she's a world famous pianist. I would expect this to more or less be relatively clean from an accuracy standpoint.
Many pianists have made mistakes in their interpretations, for example Barenboim, Pogorelich or Cortot. In the end they are people like us, let us not forget that
You kinda have to take to consideration of Ravel's Ondine. It is truly a force to be reckoned with. Even Marc Andre Hamelin had difficulty playing this live in one recording you could find here on RUclips.

yeah, she plays effortlessly like touching silk and her hands are beautiful
I hope Ms Lisitsa records Prokofiev's third piano concerto.
The Bosendorfer piano has the perfect timbre and color for this piece. Add Valentina's masterful technique and the result is just sublime.
Extraordinary, hauntingly beautiful, mesmerizing. Thank you for sharing this exquisite performance with us.

4:07 Oh boy I want a Bösendorfer extra bad now
Beautiful interpretation. Have spent years working on this piece and I learnt a lot watching her play
I wanted to see only some clips but i've end up looking all the video. So beautiful
A perfect outstanding marriage between composer and performer! This is indeed Ravel!
Just unspeakable
Beautiful and sensitive performance! Wow!
Valentina plays this work better than anyone in my opinion. Her touch, feeling and impeccable technique are transcendental pianism of the highest calibre.
Very beautiful!
Surely one of the best right hands out of anyone I've ever seen play Ondine.
Excellent comme toujours Valentina ! du vrai Ravel...
Personally, I could never get into Ravel's music but this is just sublime.
Try Jeux d'Eau and Une Barque Sur l'Ocean. They're the best in my opinion.
Thank you, I will!
No oiseaux triste is much easier to start with.
Perfectly!

2:22 is so beautiful
I nearly not recognize the piece...WELL DONE MASTER WORK
It's Ondine
Schöne Valentina und Bösendorfer ? Eine neue Welt ... Himmlische Valentina ,.....................,.....
Bravo!
Hay que saber escuchar esta musica 🙂
Tiene Vd razon!
4:06 look from above for the best part, the director is great

I hope Ms Lisitsa records Liszt Transcendental Etudes (full)
Me too

4:40 - 5:00 wow!
5:00 look at the faces behind

It’s Ondine, not Odine.
She's played this a thousand times and it's beautiful and all but there is something lack luster in this performance. 🤔
Absolutely, this was played off the cuff with no regard for accuracy!

Когда по клавишам твои скользили пальцы...
ミケランジェリの神演奏と比べると…かなり残念です
I understand that this is an encore, but there are SO many mistakes and notes that are not played. Very messy.
Mistakes sometimes happen. Maybe you play unmistakably?

C'est beau mais ce piano n'est pas fait pour jouer du Ravel ! Il faut un Pleyel des années 20 ou antérieur !
