I've always waited for Meteor to be viable. Played it in S3 since Starfall Coronet came. This is actually the problem, it takes a helm slot. If Starfall Coronet maybe moved to glove instead, or maybe even ring etc., we could like most other builds/classes, get to use Harlequin Crest and Heir of Perdition. Right now all we got is a little more damage and Enhanced Meteor buff that does nothing against single targets. Meteor Sorc can't even use Ton runes to double down.
Define viable? I define it as anything that can complete torment 1 levels, which is basically any build. Pit pushing at highest levels is something completely different
@@kevinsims5791 Competitive enough that it doesn't have to be dumped to C tier rankings. Played it 3 seasons, it's always gonna be fun, flashy and capable but it will always require more to do less. It's probably not getting glyphs to 100 without really good gear and high paragon. But maybe this season or next...
@flailmanx3 it kinda is pointless cause there isnt really a reason to do that, at least not yet. Once you get to torment 1 then you can do everything you can do in torment 4, the same.
If Blizzard defines the damage ceiling for what is viable compared to building to push max pit, we can have lower damage builds being played. Imho Dark Citadel hinted to what Blizzard feels the damage ceiling could be, which allows for many builds to feel viable.
Ugh was excited for a moment because I hit paragon 300 two weeks ago but everything is just so weak compared to the Spiritborn and nothing seems worth playing. I don't need them to be dominating 130+ or 150s but I'd like them to at least be able to reach Pit tier 100 without too much struggle. That to me is just a baseline of how strong each class and build should be and then how far past that they can push would be the real test of how good they are.
@ThatDawg21 The key is speed. Do whatever Pit level you can clear in 1-2 mins. 150 isn't that much better than lower levels for exp, particularly if you can't clear it fast. I was doing 110s. It was still quite a grind though.
Every class currently has builds clearing between pit 100 and high 120s right now. Stop crying and put in some work. The spirit born is irrelevant because it's only putting out the dps it does based off of bugs, so quit comparing everything to it.
@@Valverde713 Don't make assumptions, they make you look stupid. Hmm let's see Barbarian 128, Sorc 122, Rogue 119, Necromancer 119, and Druid at 114. Assuming those are all done without that antivenin potion exploit that has now been patched, these are all very specific builds and from extremely well geared and skilled players. There is very limited options for builds you can play and I'm not interested in the ones they have currently. They just don't seem fun to me. Barb, Sorc or Druid are classes that might interest me but Barb has one good build in Mighty Throw that I have no interest in, and Sorc has some that could be fun(like the one in this video) but I'm not playing a build that struggles to even clear a 95. And Druid is a joke currently.
All i want is something similar to 'star pact' meteor from D3. God i wish they would make star fall coronet into a staff and give the staff extra %dmg for meteor and a chance to cast meteor twice
I was excited because I usually love what you guys do for your sorcerer builds, but this one seems to be just quickly thrown together due to the patch. I've been making it my goal to beat t100 pit with this build by the end of the season... and I'm getting there, but as you mentioned you need kinda top tier gear (I have GA4 starfall and tal rasha's with high aspects as well as ga2-3 items in all the other slots). A couple things that I've found to be important to this build is ranks to meteor/core skills (core on gloves, meteor on boots and coronet). Also, sword + focus I've found to be better than staff because the amount of meteors dropped is significantly higher. Three curses on amulet, storm swell/shredding on weapon/focus, inner calm on ring#2, and accelerating on gloves. Accelerating is TONS of damage due to all the extra meteor drops (using gar runeword to solve crit chance issues). The most important thing though is getting high tempers to meteor double damage and triple critting them. I'm at only like 80% right now (double crit max roll on sword, triple crit mid-roll on focus). In regards to starfall, I think the buffs are... fine. However, the real buff that it needed was meteor size -> meteor double damage chance. That frees you up on your weapon and focus to get higher damage tempers. Anyway, I've been able to push pit 97 with this version so far. I doubt I'll hit 100, but I'm very interested to keep trying and will likely jump back into a meteor build next season too.
Used Sword and offhand, did three curses and tried conceited on focus. Then swapped to try Shattered star instead on the focus and now i do a lot more consistent damage. I also tried frostburn for gloves and been smacking decently with frozen mobs. Highly recommend.
I came into this fame with 0 aspirations of chasing the meta and jsit wanted to meteor swarm. Getting that helm made me insanely hopeful but im sort of brick walled at T2 any advice?
What the class needs: (1) stop buffing bad skills just with minor damage increases (2) start overall buffs, expand or remove damage caps (3) single target damage (which is why (1) doesn't matter), and (4) enchantments, in general, are all crap.
RE: No Ice Shards builds in S6 post patch... Not true...! Assuming you want something that can do pit ~85/90 pit relatively easily and all other content with style, then Iceshards + Frostburn + flat cold damage lucky build works nicely. And, unlike the very similar chain lightening + frostburn builds, is fun and engaging to play. Can throw in elemental constellation aspect (can even drop piercing cold - especially in pit) for more nuke damage. Teleport (enchantment) for AoE - as it has great lucky hit and procs your flat cold damage.
Considering I've been trying to get the helm of perdition and the starless ring without any luck, this could be a cool build for me for the time being 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. Not that it will ever matter... I want to be able to play a sorc with the skills I want to use and still be able to have fun and be effective! STOP MAKING ME USE EVERY ELEMENT AND TELEPORT TO MAKE MY BUILD EFFECTIVE! No other class requires you to stack multiple things to make your build effective. Just let me do my thing, for my play style, and let me enjoy end game stuff in the process.
Unsure if you can figure out Incinerate? As be nice to see. Had a build ready to go for the patch and it seemed like the change to the aspect wasnt even scaling with Incinerate damage. Had 28 ranks of it in the hope xD. Just gave up and moved on to some other banter build
Honestly - in T4 Undercity I do not want to see any "Ks" behind the numbers. Where you stay half a minute to kill the mobs I cllck SPACE and the screen is empty with a Spiritborn (that does not use any bugs or exploits). They have destroyed the whole fun to play other classes with the spiritborn, and I wonder, if they will frustrate people a third time when nerfing the spiritborn 100 tiers downward or bring more bugs when they try to bring all other classes to the Spiritborn's level. At the moment I don't want to play anymore: spending time with Spiritborn will make me outrage when they nerf it, spending time with other classes simply is not fun anymore. I can play a T100 with my Barb or my Sourcerer in 6, 7 minutes. In that time I finished a 120 with my Spiritborn - the second time. Maybe it's really time to look at other games, I don't believe they will ever bring the fun to the game back.
So a delayed damage build with lower damage than instant damage builds. Sweet. Does look somewhat and certainly this game needs more playstyles. Shame they just arent good and we are pidgeoned to buggy and clunky stuff.
full LP or chain lightning and you will be good to good, if you have the good stuff and mythics, you will be enough strong to do tier IV (yes dont expect pit 90+ but it is what it is)
I'm so tired of playing Sourcerer, I can't die but the damage is pathetic. This is the opposite of a glass cannon that I expect from a ranged, mobile class.

As of right now I'm playing your build for S6 Best End Game Lightning Spear and I'm loving it keep up the good work and go Sorcs
Did you test frostburn instead of regular gloves? I feel that could benefit the build potentially.
I’ve been waiting for this video thanks!
Dat intro LoL 🤣 ... this reminds me of doing diablo 3 tal rasha meteor build back in the day, had alot of fun and did my first gr 150 with it
I always forget just how useless the meteor enchant is. Enchantment slots could be so much more fun and dynamic… if only they’d mess with them a bit.

the meteors are so pretty tho
RIGHT, its such a shame its so relatively weak
Very nice would love to see a incinerate build as well 😊
Definitely looks more viable. I may look. Waiting to hear what happens on campfire tonight.
Still playing Frozen Orb build from season 5... loving it but the power felt a lot more crappier.
Good for speeds. I'm running it with Ice Shards and I can be a screen away and people are still dying.
I am running an incinerate build with no ice blades or LS, using familiar with bindings. I can clear most T4 content so far and I’m not full geared.

I like your commitment to meteor but the dmg honestly looks crap and I’m not comparing it to SB cause every thing looks shit compared to that
nice build i like meteor, its very fun to play
what sorc really need right now is another multiplier for damage.. prefferedly on equipment. maybe infinite mana and 100% overpower?

Meteor is a mastery AND core skill 😉
