To redirect to home page, you must enter the complete URL of the home page and then #section. Make sure, the section name is not in CAPS (I had the same issue)
I was struggling with the same issue and it did work out if I type just "/#sectionname" as homepage doesn't have page name essentially in Webflow as a default.
@@chaelynkim208 this does not work for me. so crazy that Webflow doesn't have a solution for this. seems so trivial yet extremely annoying and integral to optimal UX
Thank you for this tutorial, however it's not working for me 😔 I am trying to redirect to a section of my homepage and when I do /home#section or /#section , nothing happens
Interesting point, I didn't think about homepages. Have you tried through a redirect? Send people to "/page" and redirect that to "/page > /#section" Not sure if it'll work, just spitballing 🧐
You probably don't need this anymore, but I found the solution. All you have to do is create an external url /#section - that worked for me. Maybe you've forgotten to give sections the ID-s or something?
this doesnt seem to work on the homepage. I got it to work by using a simple vanilla JS to force the scroll.. just add this to the 'custom code' in the homepage page settings: window.addEventListener('load', function () { if (window.location.hash == '') { return false; } var el = document.querySelector(window.location.hash); if (el !== null) { el.scrollIntoView({ behavior: 'smooth' }); } }, false);
I put my anchor to a headline (also tried with a section) and when I click the link the headline is positioned at the top. Even if I use attribute data-scroll = mid. Any tips?
Better to put the anchor to a section and make sure you have enough padding between where the section starts and where the headline is, otherwise the headline will still be too high when the page loads in :)
Thank you for the tutorial, I was wondering how to link to a section in the homepage from a different page? what would you put between / and #SECTION_NAME? Thanks
I feel like I have had that exact conversation with my clients 100 times

That is Wellington NZ 😉
If section is on homepage no slug can be entered and system doesn't default to home to connect to a section there, any other options?

Thank you.
thank you bro
thanks!!!
I am struggling so much to do the same thing but instead of a section, a tab 😭😭😭
yeah this doesnt work at all if your section is in the homepage.....

same. I can not get this to work for homepage.

Nothing, just use /#team for example :)
@@NikolaiBain I did that and it just goes to the top of the home page... I have the slash then the tag. What am I missing?
