Bringing my BMX down next time then!
Twin turbo conversion?
🥳 This is the content we all need!
it all cleared out though😅 was ok for my boots to use their scooters when it was there
This is a good move Rick , you won’t sleep for a year and also live in the toilet for days but in five years time you will be the Clarkson of Swindon and have your own tv show on sky there is only one way for you and it is up up and away , I wish you all the best and go careful on that bike 👍👍
Id consider leaving the small office by the entrance as a private room. I work in a *** dealership and we get loads of customers that will happily wait for their cars and work on their laptops if you can give them a quiet space and a supply of coffee. I imagine lots of your customers also have businesses to run while they get their cars serviced etc so could be worth it
It’s a testament to how well you’re doing mate. Going from strength to strength you’re always the face of your business. Your videos show how you value your business and your customers Ricky. So open and honest showing how you work it’s a pleasure to watch. Tuesday and Friday watching your uploads are the highlight of my weak. Wish you and your brand all the best.
i would keep the mezzanine - perhaps move it down to the other end of the workshop and have it over the the engine room- would give you extra storage space for panels etc . Also the stairs could be moved into the corner where you want them to be . Definitely a massive step into the unknown but i'm sure you'll smash it !! Good luck
Congratulations and amazing to see you doing so well. Looking forward to seeing updates on the building and the move.
Keep the far side of Mez and bridge over from left to right above the door entrance. All accessible from new staircase, possibly made up from existing? . That space will be useful? Good luck with everything.
Keep the Mezz, take the amount you need off it width to create a corridor from the workshop door to the main area, then just bridge the two sections for access storage. the double staircase just connect as a straight section, this is not difficult. Best of luck Ricky
Agree! or at least make use of the stairs you already have rather than scrapping them and buying new.
🔥 agree
Sell the 4 odd lifts you already have and get 6 matching, if you are going all out it will look better in the end.
Build on your books, not profit! Good work Ricky, been following you for a longtime and I think this front of house will project you forwards. Having a level of professionalism in that area will have a profound effect in the workshop - i have worked in both environments and having a safe workshop were you can use bad language when you hurt yourself, for example, without the fear of a customer being their is vital! Good luck fella, not that you'll need it! Regarding a receptionist, I like the saying "why have a dog and bark yourself". I think it will end up being the most important employee you take on! They will pay for themselves in no time!!
Good luck, keep the mezz with the stairs, enlarge the smaller door./put in anew door, will be quicker, save cash and keeps flexibility.
Re-engineering the mezz to move the supports posts etc is easy and probably no more expensive than removing the mezz and should be quicker… they can be removed all together if it helps… just get a mezz company or two out to advise. The space will be needed for office, clean room work area, lunch/break area, storage etc
Anyway, well done, it’s obvious this was on the cards and already overdue.
Shout out to commentator for Carlos Condit v Dan Hardy reference, you got the knowledge dude, one love .🙏
Ricky the stairs you are removing can be repurposed for the other stairs you need. You just need to get someone to reposition the lower flight of stairs so you have a flight a landing then a flight to the floor if that makes sense.
Was coming to the comments to say just that!
For your air lines, get the guy who's installing to put water taps at bottom of U-loops and to use copper. Air outlet at height above the water taps as the loop setup is ideal for water traps, Will save your air tools and save you dosh on replaceable water filters/dessicants
Keep and move the mez to the other end and use a ramp to access that level. Use for more storage!
For the stairs and other engineering bits speak to RJP engineering, they’re quite local to you and very helpful.
Congratulations and all the best Ricky! Very well deserved expansion! If you need any help with networks, etc please let me know as I had done it in my house with PoE CCTV and Cat7A cabling everywhere with MESH WiFi network :)
Why not do an r8 group meet up - bring a paint brush and our time - you provide tea and refreshments. Loads of us would be happy to chip in.
Congratulations Rick. Onwards and upwards . Looking forward to seeing how the new workshop turns out
wowzers and comgratulations, thats one big commitment, but you and the team are more than capable of making it a success, all the best, exciting yet scary times!
Hi Kate, Ricky, I am so excited for you buddy. Good things happen to good people and this is going to be massive for you. Best wishes to you and the team, onwards and upwards RePerformance. 👍👊❤️🏴
Good luck with the move Rick. Definitely a good thing.
The customer area sounds cool. Although, I did enjoy being at the workshop (and doing my WorkFromRep 😃) when you guys were looking after my R8.
Move the Mez over to your engine room side and build the engine room under it, and you will have more storage.
awesome news keep pushing the business as far as you can! onwards and upwards and never look back!
Congratulations Bro , so happy for this journey, make sure to vlog the renovations, can’t wait to see the finished product, how much bigger is this space l x w
Ricky a expanding business will never have enough space so think about using the mezzanine floor as you will never sell it for how much it will cost to buy again.
One last thing regarding the mez floor.........cant the met sec's be swapped around? This will put the pillar roughly where the white plastic tub is? It's going to take labour to remove it all anyway so maybe with a bit of "lift and shift" you could rearrange so it works? I'd offer some free labour to help give it a go? I can't help but feel the mez could be a good video/VIP area for friends of yours and YT "stars", separates it from the day-to-day stuff? I'm excited for you, go big or go broke!!
Congratualtions .. hard work pays off.. and wish ya all the best of luck and more growth.. Its really difficult to get a good unit..
Why don’t you move the short side of the mezzanine floor to the right and the long side to the left which would move the uprights. Would save losing that extra space……?
You could probably use the staircase again ( steel expensive) or at least use the treads again
Fantastic, well deserved upgrade! Looking forward to the workshop build series 😀
Thanks! 👍
If anyone can make it work it’s you, the honesty and knowledge you have is something customers go looking for and appreciate. I was never keen on seeing so many customers cars of that calibre sitting outside like they have been, I did feel for you guys trying to work over each other as you were so this will be great for you and no doubt you will find that you can get through jobs quicker which will take some stress off you
I've seen businesses with storage, an office, and a reception area up on the mezzanine floor. You can put an elevator easily in the corner. 3 Phase? Put everything on plugs, so you can easily move them around any time in the future, and future stuff is just a plug-in job.
Brilliant Rick, balls to the wall. Got everything crossed it all pans out. Looking forward to seeing you make the space your own.
Very best of luck with the extra workshop Ricky. I look forward to having somewhere nice to sit when your servicing the car! 👍
Thank you. Look forward to having you with us soon.
@@REPerformanceUK How much discount on my service next month if I slap some trade emulsion on your walls while you're working on the car? 😉
Can you relocate the mez above the engine room perhaps 🤔👍🏻🤘🏽
The mezzanine is currently in 1/3 and 2/3 sections, you could keep it but swap it around which allows access to the door.
Why dont you try and get a bendpak sponsor they'll supply you with new ramps ?
Also, the new place needs skateboard decks on the wall with cool cars on them to pay homage to the skatepark routes!
Hi, could you not use the Mez stairs for the parts area?
Congrats on the new digs Rick cant wait to see this build
Could you move the mezzanine and stairs to the back of the unit for additional storage above the engine store clean area.. Great plans 👌 👍
Best of luck in the new venture room to grow and give an all round better experience for customers and crew. Wicked spray paint job on the walls or the roller doors wiuld be mint
Defo leave the mezz in but modify to suit an entrance tunnel, moving the pillars and extending the floor to suit cant be that hard surely. Think of all that 'dead' airspace if you take it out....
Awesome move, congratulations, I know it’s extra cost but surely 6 new matching ramps is the way forward. The old ramps will give you extra car storage or overflow project work space.
Can you not flip the mez so longer sections are inline with the shutter the space will be invaluable as no matter how much space you have you always fill it.
Good luck with the new venture
Congratulation and makes so much sense. Onwards and upwards 🎉
You'd be mad not to move the mez down the far end where that door was out to the ramp and make the engine room under it. You'd have plenty of room on top to store engines and parts too. The stairs looks fairly modular too and could be re-configured to go where you showed but in a single row instead of a switchback. Congrats, onwards and upwards!
Congratulations 🎉 need any masonry work done. Happy to give a hand.
Well overdue bud, congratulations on this achievement and expansion of the business!
Well done Ricky - good luck with your plans. I admire your vision. P.S. Go for a rotary screw IN WORKSHOP compressor. Pretty much silent, so no need to put outside. Also super efficient. Would highly recommend HPC/KAISER. You should also ask your equipment supplier to do a worhshop layout design for you. Personally, I'd sell your existing ramps & fit 6 new matching 3 phase units. P.S.S. You should also look at a professional re-design of your logo
Why don’t you flip the mezzanine 180? The beams are longer on the side away from the door if you 180 the beams it will clear you door and give you even more parts storage
Rick, couldn’t you get the existing stairs moved and reconfigured up in the new position? They look modular/ bolt together type ?
Congrats ricky. I can imagine its going to be a tough year or two trying to stabilise n cover the huge expenses. Only you can vision the layout n plans in ur mind currently.
However id shift off all the project cars to be able to give your all to this.
Great seeing you expanding, what do you use to do your floors? The last workshop seems to have held up really well.
Can’t you flip the Mez 180 degrees and have the wider section above the main shutter door. The stairs would just move with it to the other side. Fixings would already be in place.
Looking forward to see how this progresses. Given the cars outside the old unit, it is definitely the right decision. Well done for having the stones to believe in yourself and the team surrounding you. Sure it will be good thing.
Very cool if I was closer id be very happy to grab a paint brush help 😎👌
Good luck, Ricky - and the team.
It's interesting what you're saying about building a brand. I'd never think about selling a business, but you're right. How do you make a business which can be sold, when it's your own reputation that people come for? I don't know the answer.
It's a blessing and a curse when you become so good and so popular, that you need to become educated about business, taxes, markets.... Insurances all that shite.
Well, we're rooting for you 👍🏻
Smashing, here's to your future every continued success.
Thank you
Regarding the mezz, can you not switch the shorter length with the longer length beams for each run and relocate the central pillars so that they arent in the way of the roller door?
The new place looks fantastic and I’m sure will look amazing after you’ve sorted it. I’d be more than happy to help paint if you need it. We spoken before on the phone. I use to work on the McLaren engine development team don’t no if you can recall. Probably not as you speak to so many people. But the offer is there if you wanna set up a painting party 🎉.
The best of luck with this expansion. Love your vids.
I watched video, great content as always. It seems like I missed final price on the parts for rebuilt. What was it? Not 65k?
Team of fellas, job done.
Why don’t you get in touch with some other electrician RUclipsrs etc and ask them if they’ll pay you to do the work?
I’m in the states - but I make engine coffee tables. I have quite a few 5.0 and 5.2 Lambo cores. If you’re interested in making something happen, let’s chat!
Missing the obverse with mezzanine, couldn't it be spined 180 giving the wider section to the drive in, and you could use the room no end for storing/ extra working , its just nuts/bolts 😂
Good on yer Rick, great move and hopefully it will take you to the next level. Love the channel and look forward to seeing how this project develops.
Move the Mezzanine to the other end, workshop underneath it and an internal simple electric lift to put motors etc on the Mezzanine that are waiting for work, parts etc. The pay off in not walking around stuff in the engine room would definitely pay off. Wireless security cameras are a liability as they can be jammed by the low lifes who want to rob the place. We use wired Ubiquity and they simply work.
A Noble Home and a Noble business Future, I like it well done 👍
You need a Project Manager! 😀
Why not put the Mez above the Engine room, increase space available?
Ricky it's because of your dynamism that you are as successful as you are, therefore it's hardly surprising you have outgrown your present premises. Onwards and upwards mate! And I bet a shed load of people close to Swindon would love to come and help you get straight. One thing don't do an airline in a U do a full circuit it helps the compressor and works a lot better.
Looks good mate all the best with it, what was address of this free coffee shop
Congrats guys on the new building looking forward to seeing your progress. Go Team REP! Looking forward to seeing the Noble build progress
First Stairs - Welder Faber could do the Steel Stairs and possibly know someone that could want the M-Deck, second - Air & Electrical speak to retropowercars they have had the Air and electrical put into the workshop both on RUclips, Ps Good , Someone said to me when starting out on my own Big risk Big Reward.👍
If you wanted to keep the mezzanine maybe throw another rsj in along the shutter wall and then you can put an upright steel further along the rsj so you can remove the exsisting upright. MIGHT BE EASIER AND CHEAPER AND CAN KEEP UOSTAIRS STORAGE
Great news Ricky, just a thought, could you not fabricate the stairs you already have for the area you require them?
Good thing. Transitioning from working in your business to Working ON your business is the imperative next step at this stage. Standing still isn’t an option. Go guys.😊
Why not relocate the mez and build the engine room under it.
WHAT ABOUT GETING THAT MEZALENE FLIPED 180 ? that way you get the access and have extra space up top
Good luck mate. I did think you were climbing over cars and parts to do your work.
more headaches better win a few more races........ look forward to see how it takes shape.👍
Congratulations Ricky. Good move! 👍
Ricky the only person you need to worry about is Kate & I'm sure she's 100% behind you!
Also the mez could be turned round 180 degrees, put the short ones on the long side & the long ones on the short side. You can also shorten it if needed. I'm an ex shopfitter & used to fix the mez to the sets, fukin boring 😴 but wasn't hard. If u need a hand nows the time to hollar, I'm off for the nxt 2 weeks with my knee so if there's owt I can do? Just need room for my little camper & dog, lol 😆
What is the live load limit above the office rated for... you dont want to come in and find the parts on your desk....
Why don’t you cut the mezzanine back and get rid of the stairs to gain access for cars then put a walk way above the shutter door across for access to the mezzanine not above the office
But best of luck with the next chapter
Yeeeeeeah boy! Looks awesome.. a couple of things though - move the mezzanine to the other end, you’ll want the storage down the line so may as well have it whilst it’s free. If the other units staying, keep the project cars down there - try to separate business/pleasure. If the 5 year plan involves you not being the ‘face’ then current RUclips set up doesn’t really work.. would the guys be up for some YouTubings? Remind me to tell you the teething problems my stepdad had when becoming non customer facing when I’m down, it’s a cracker 😝
It’ll be a great space when it’s done and you’ve moved in, well done all. 👍
Is the new place big enough to move everything lock, stock and barrel, reducing some overheads (cos you look worried)
Go hard, as you plan and it will be awesome for all.
Absolutely brilliant, have thought that you have all been on top of each other for some time!!
Didn't see that coming mate. Congratulations and best wishes
You've got to speculate to accumulate, sink or swim? My money is on you swimming. Very happy for you and the chaps and not forgetting the huge improvement it'll be for your customers. Stay well 👌🏻
Great business expansion - the future belongs to the brave . . . wishing you every success
The world of the Audi R8, Lamborghini, etc is looking up
Good luck to you, exciting times 👍
Thank you
@josh Benham - he buys and sells Mezzanine floors locally - I bought mine from him.
Cantillon group can do air lines and electrics - Swindon Based.
Congrats. A big step, but your reasoning is sound. Once you get a business to the stage you're at, appearance and efficiency becomes increasingly important.
Give Britson a call for the electrics Rick
