Just found a oak tree , pretty sure it's English or American white oak ,do you know dose it mater which variety of American white oak you use to age your alcohol or is there anything we should look for
True that I just used a axe to cut a couple of peaces of kindling size peaces then though it in fire turning it will tongs to get the whole thing chared nicely
I like the concept: no barrel - no problem! I agree with "Great Plains"; I'd like to taste it too!
It would be fun to make a barrel though!

Cool idea! My extra oak usually becomes flavor for a pork butt. But tihs is also a very worthy endeavor :)
