Yes we did watch Jack-Jack attack, its during the post movie discussion😉
There was also a HILARIOUS small thing where Mr. Incredible and Frozone watch a 70’s cartoon made about them and it’s hilarious because Frozone is very unhappy.
Are you going to post the last of us reaction on youtube
There are also short film called Auntie Edna.
Edna is based on real designer Edith Head , she died 1981 , won 8 Oscars , nominated 35 times , between 1948 and 1977 .
She started at Paramount as costume sketch artist at age 26 , in 1924 , with no training .
Marvel already has Fantastic 4 back.
The moment they called Jack-Jack useless I smiled looked into an imaginary camera like Jim from The Office.
Oh yeah... that's gonna come back like a boomerang. Would have been better to say "potential unformed".
It's cool how the kids are named after their powers.
Ultraviolet, violet, power to turn invisible
Dash, that one is obvious
Jack-jack, jack of all trades.
So. Fucking. True.
George hit the nail on the head with the reason for everyones power (Dash is a ball of energy, Violet wants to disappear, Dad needs to be strong, mom is constantly stretched in every direction), powers are based on personality in this world. The popular theory for Jack Jacks power(s) after the 1st movie was released is that babies are full of potential, they haven't really developed a personality (aka "useless").
I was thinking that babies are little monsters
Lead weight, little monster, and others.
"Jack of all trades, master of none" as the old saying goes
Interesting avatar picture :D
Jack-Jack represents all the possibilities kids can be.
Fun Fact: There are actually laws specifically to prevent you from being sued if you try to rescue someone. They're called "Good Samaritan" laws
I bet those would be thrown out the window the moment superman collapses Trump Tower trying to save a guys life.
@@Hater20X That's not what happened at all though. Mr. Incredible barely caused any damage to that building, it was Bomb Voyage who blew it up after the fact.
Fun Fact: Good samaritan laws didn't exist until the 70s
@@nathancollins1715 it dosent matter if Mr incredible didn't do the damage to that building. Because it was stated that supers were being sued for damages. So although Mr incredible didn't damage it. It dosnet mean other supers haven't been destroying things in their heroism
@@joshuawoodbridge6267
I wonder if it would be called the mr incredible law now
It’s crazy that Frozone was going to be their next victim if you think about it. They were originally following him in the beginning of the movie until Mirage found out the “fat guy” was actually Mr Incredible. Bob unknowingly saved his friends life
Yup it makes sense because the fight took place in a volcano, a place where Frozone would be most vulnerable
From what I can tell, Syndrome lured in people who wanted to relive the glory days, and Frozone was done with the secret hero work after the disaster of the fire rescue. Since he’d rather be bowling now. I think he’d have probably passed it onto Bob or at least talked about it, but ultimately turned it down.
No. Mirage saved Frozones life
Fun fact: Edna Mode was voiced by the director (Brad Bird). You should definitely check out Ratatouille after this. It's another brilliant animated movie from him.
Lily Tomlin was brought in to audition, Brad demonstrated how he wanted Edna (based on legendary costume and wardrobe designer Edith Head) to sound, and Lily said, "What do you need ME for? You got it already."
Brad Bird* not Bird Bird lmao
They already reacted to the Iron Giant too. I'm surprised they didn't realize it was the same director!
Brad Bird, also known for his work on classic Simpsons episodes.
I always thought Linda Hunt could have been an alternative for the Voice of Edna Mode.
Brad Bird likely did not think of that possibility.
Watch Edith Head interviews from 1950s and 1960s, and they perfectly captured her in Edna.
This movie is the perfect example of a family animated movie. There's plenty of fun and cool imagery and action for the kids, but also a surprising amount of layers and subtext to keep adults entertained watching. It's so great!
Saw this with my sister and our families when we still had small kids and all the adults were just howling during the family argument scenes, especially the one where they are fighting about the driving directions.
I like how the name of Syndrome's island is Nomanisan, as in "no man is an island" for Bob's story arc.
Also, Syndrome's name comes from "Hero Syndrome," where people want to do heroic things for the accolades but don't comprehend the consequences.
And now that cool island belongs to Mirage. Will she use it's resources and tech for good or continue in her co-evil ways? Find out in Incredibles 3... coming 2035.
@@joelwillems4081 Incredibles 2 was such a mediocre fizzle of trash that I will not waste my time on 3
Hero syndrome is more about intentionally putting people into dangerous situations to then save them for the glory, which fits a lot closer with Syndrome.
Well I don't know if that latter one is factual, but it would makes sense if he is referring with his name to his vast arsenal that are working in tandem to make him the "super" he is.
"Sun-" / together
"dramein" / to run
When referring to diseases, the name is referring to the symptoms working together.

Edna Mode is based on Edith Head, a famous Hollywood costume designer who won 8 Oscars. Her look, mannerisms and attitude in the movie are spot-on for the real person.

The "I am not strong enough" scene always gets to me. This is such a good show! Also, Edna Mode is a genius character.
That line alone takes this movie from great to incredible. That little moment of self honesty and vulnerability from the guy who thinks he’s supposed to be the strong one in the family is just so poignant.

I don't think it was a mistake making Helen Parr and Holly Hunter as a match made in animated heaven. When Elasti-girl first appears on screen, you know that this isn't really a kid's movie. Yes, kids will love it, but all the innuendo is there for the older audience. Brilliantly done!
I like how even though Mrs. Incredible noticing details like rubble or hair or a cut on Bob's suit is playing into the "wife" trope, it also makes perfect sense because years of being a superhero solving crimes has made her more alert to those small details and clues.
That giggle Dash lets out when he realizes he''s running on water is just fantastic.
It's the first time he'd ever had permission to run as fast as he could. He was just as delighted as the audience to learn he could do it. 😄
Heck, yeah. That was so spot on. Just the right mix of disbelief, surprise, and exhilaration, with a Dash of boyish fun thrown in. 😂
One of my favorite scenes in the movie.
its so good, cinemasins took off a sin for it
The scene with Frozone drinking the little cup of water while the cop has a gun drawn on him is a callback to a scene in Die Hard With A Vengeance, where Sam Jackson's character, Zeus, has to answer a payphone while a cop has a gun on him telling him to raise his hands.

I have to say one of the major reasons why I absolutely love this movie is how well they utilized Helen’s ability to stretch. Obviously, it’s not something we see a whole lot of in media but the creative variety of ways that she uses her ability has always blown my mind.
Being a kid a watching her turn into a parachute, boat, becoming a protective shield around her kids to save them, using her own limbs as slingshots- it was all so… well, incredible. Honestly it’s still amazing after all this time.
Great reaction as always, can’t wait for the next one. 🥰
The only one I have a problem with is near the end, when she's holding up the RV. In order to do that, she would have to be strong enough to lift it herself, and there's no indication that she had super-strength.
@@lurkerrekrul She has superstrenght. Not at the same level of Mr. Incredible, but having a little superstrength is pretty much a given for silver age superheroes. We see her punching several bad dudes and she knocks off every one of them at the first impact.
i love how mature this movie comes off. even when i was a kid it stood out to me, and obviously i couldnt express exactly why but as i grew up and understanding the nuances and layers to it it became clear as to why it did. the scene where he discovers the fate of all the missing heroes is still to this day one of my favorite scenes in film ever.
Yeah, considering it's a Pixar film, it's surprisingly dark, and I'm glad somebody else got this feeling as a kid aswell. There are 'scarier' kids movies, but this one touches on a literal on-screen suicide attempt, shooting live rounds at children, the whole cheating subtext...this movie isn't fucking around lmao.
Someone pointed out to me that the heroes Bob found that Buddy killed were the same friends at his and Ellens wedding in the beginning of the film.
Those 2 old men on the bench were Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, two of the original animators who worked with Walt Disney; Brad Bird was a fan of their work, so he wanted to give a nod to the original artists who inspired him to go into animation.
I'm not saying you're wrong, I only heard someone else say that they are supposed to represent Joe Siegel and Jerry Shuster, the creators of Superman, who for decades never got any credit for their creation. I don't know if it's true.
@@PhilBagels nope definitely Frank and Ollie. A fun Easter egg in Pixar films is the number A113. This is the room number for the Nimation instruction room at Cal Arts. Fun Facts: This was Michael Giaccino's first score for a Pixar movie and he nailed it. Edna Mode was voiced by the writer and director Brad Bird. The only movie he directed before this was The Iron Giant.
Edna is played by Brad Bird, the director of the movie.
His voice for her was just unmatched.
He was right about why Helen is stretchy, but there's also a second reason acknowledged in the DVD commentary... It's to deal with the issue of how a super powered person sleeps with someone and doesn't kill them. Helen can literally be pounded into a paste and come back.
Jesus
Nobody gives Kari her due. She figured out how to counter all of Jack-Jack's powers in one night and came out of it in one piece. She should be a super hero!
Y'know what's weird about that? Kari told all this to Mr Dicker, so he knew JackJack had powers but never tells the family.
The family is implied to have found out off-screen, because Jack-Jack is wearing his costume when the Underminer attacks, which he wouldn't be if they didn't know he had powers. Of course the sequel retcons this and doesn't have most of them find out until much later, but the original movie makes it pretty obvious.
@@tau-5794 they knew he had powers because they saw him use them at the climax. There is not one word or nod to Kari, in that regard. We may hope that they knew of her accomplishment, but hope is all we have.

Idk why it always gets me emotionally. Like imagine hearing your wife’s panicked voice and then finding out your children are also about to blown up too
Every word that Elastigirl says on the radio is a real aviators' slang (there is a mistake there, but the one that is rather common). Holly Hunter insisted that everything should be explained to her, so that she would understand what she is saying. It paid off.
Absolutely. Harrowing for Elasti-girl and the way it crushes Mr. Incredible...
Ah, so George has some dental pain that's making his face weird. That explains why he looked so different in the Hachi video.
Anyway, The Incredibles is the best Fantastic 4 film
Lmao
"That was totally wicked" has always lived in my head rent free
The writing in this movie becomes so much more relatable as an adult. The themes of turbulent household, adulthood and childhood issues, feelings of inadequacy, not living to the fullest potential, going through the motions, the attraction of something exciting and invigorating, and many more.
That discussion between Frozone and his wife (@25:33) is still my favourite single scene of this movie. 😂
It inspired a ton of memes
I love Violet's energy shield. Being able to to turn invisible is useful but the energy shield as well makes it much better.
From imdb.........
Helen's use of radio protocol while flying is exceptionally accurate for a movie. In the director's commentary, Brad Bird tells that Holly Hunter insisted on learning the lingo and its meaning. The terminology used hints that Elastigirl has had military flight training. "VFR on top" means she is flying in the regime of Visual Flight Rules "on top" of a cloud cover. She requests "vectors to the initial", directions how to get to the initial landing approach. "Angels 10" is her altitude call, ten thousand feet, this is a military term. Civilian flights use the term "flight level". "Track east" is her direction of travel. "Buddy spike(d)" is a U.S. Military brevity code meaning "friendly anti-aircraft radar has locked on to me, (please don't shoot)." "Transmitting in the Blind Guard" is a call on the emergency frequency where two-way communication has not been established. "Abort" is also a military brevity code, a directive meaning "stop the action/mission/attack." It should be noted that the term "angels", while popular for the first half of the twentieth century, is outdated. As the "present day" story takes place in 1962 and having flight experience clearly took place in the fifties, this is an appropriate term.
I like that they took the time to make it THAT accurate. :)
@@janedoe5229 Right? There are so many of us who grew up with pop culture that was usually trying to be "better," somehow. @@janedoe5229 It gives me chills just to read the lines & imagine the great Holly Hunter's voice saying them; it's SO GOOD.
Brad Bird wrote and directed The Incredibles, and he also did the voice for Edna Mode. it was only a "scratch voice" (temporary) until they found someone else to do the character, but everyone loved the way Brad did it so they left it in. and Brad's intentions for the characters' super powers were a reflection of their personalities, so George nailed it perfectly!
Jack-Jack can do a lot cause he's the jack of all trades lol great reaction guys!
The plane scene always makes me emotional. It's such a well-acted and well-animated scene; you can hear and see both parents' panic and desperation as their childrens' lives are in danger. Such an amazing movie moment.
My siblings and I love it when Dash punches the bad guy and says, "Don't touch my sister."
My favorite animated film. The scene where Dash is chased from both sides and he stops for a minute on the water and just sinks in was just mindblowing when I watched the first time. Great reaction you two!
Agreed! The movie does an excellent job of showing how malleable their powers are and how they can be applied.
As if water would stop the force of an explosion like that!
I tear up every time I hear Bob say "I can't lose you again!"
I've always liked the theory about Edna Mode being a reformed supervillain that took over the fashion industry.
So she is the female Jacobim Mugatu?
My personal favorite Pixar film ever! Perfect balance of humor, action, plot, and a villain story that is very believable. And I'm ashamed to admit, when I was 5 years old, Violet was my cartoon crush. LOL
Shy/quite girls were always my crushes in movies. That, and the evil ones
On the bonus feature disk there was a thing where they listed the supers powers and had interviews with them, some were unable to be recorded do to wind speed or water damage, and the really funny one was the super who’s power was extremely loud voice but during the interview he lost his voice.
The sad thing was finding out that the super that Edna told us that got sucked into a jet turbine was actually just a high schooler when she died.
What I loved about the intro sequence in the insurance company was that the absolutely BIGGEST guy around was squashed into the tiniest cubicle thanks to the ridiculously insane THICK pillar in the middle of the floor reducing the size of the already tiny cubicles even more.
It's so easy to overlook. He's being squished into his role as a normal dude even by his surroundings.
The voice actors were perfect for their roles. Wallace "Inconceivable!" Shawn was indeed the Mr Incredible's boss. I love the James Bond style soundtrack. As for Syndrome, he was the apotheosis of a toxic fan.
Not coincidentally, they cast Kevin Smith buddy/co-writer Jason Lee, who played Brody the toxic comic book nerd in the Askewniverse
No matter how many times I've seen this, I still get chills every time the plane is shot down and when Bob sees Helen is still alive.
You guys are right on with the theming of the powers relating to their roles/identities. With Jack-jack, the director has said that babies are all about potential, so he has a wide variety of powers that will someday settle into one.
My favorite fun fact about this movie: The voice actor for Dash, Spencer Fox, was told to run laps around the studio before he read any of his lines so Dash always sounded like he was out of breath.
"Hit the improbability drive" officially takes these two from a great channel, to the BEST channel!
Dash running on water still gives me chills. This movie had some of the most incredible (pun intended) action set pieces I've seen in an American animation production. I think the second movie is also good, although it's nowhere near the level of the first.
The moment the babysitter stopped herself from dunking a flame baby in a toilet she became my MWP.
I hope you will react to deleted scenes for the second movie. There is a funeral for all the heroes Syndrome killed. Even unfinished it is the most powerful scene in the entire franchise for me.
15:20 The voice of Edna is the Director of this movie, Brad Bird! Great reaction as always
The character of Edna the costume designer is based on real life 1950s costume designer Edith head .
Edna mode is an iconic character. After Brad Bird came up with the voice for Edna, they couldn't find anyone that could copy her accent, it's supposed to be French-Japanese, so Brad decided to do it himself and a movie icon was born

Also there's a short with Auntie Edna!
I love that this movies is a kids' movie, but is still loaded with big, grown-up thoughts. The fears that hit hardest aren't "being chased by bad guys" but fear for their marriage, fear of irrelevancy, fear of losing friends, family, children, fear of not being good enough, etc. The victories that are sweetest are in the same vein. Kids watching can feel the action, punch the bad guys stuff, but adults with adult anxieties see a whole different movie.
Iron Giant (also a Brad Bird film) is great for similar reasons.
Kids with kid anxieties exist and always existed… they certainly existed when I was a kid (I was one myself)

Edna Mode is voiced by director Brad Bird. Originally he was just a scratch voice (a temporarily voice made by studio empoyees like animators, director or other staff members, until a real actor or actress have been auditioned) like he did for Bob and Syndrome, but when Lily Tomlin was auditioned for the part, she heard Brad Bird's scratch voice and said "What do you need me for? I would say it’s a fine film in its own way, but I personally don’t really think it works as a follow-up to the first. ~~Kind of like Toy Story 4~~
I thought 'Incredibles 2' was more than ninety percent as good as the first. But the first one was SO good on SO many levels, it's actually surprising that it came near to the first in quality.
One thing people perhaps overlook about both films, is that in addition to being loads of fun, they're a rare example of films with Conservative values: They highlight the centrality and the elevated status of family life. And, not merely 'found' family, but the good, old-fashioned, classic 'nuclear' family. Helmed by maybe the most talented creator in Hollywood, with a big-studio budget behind it. (Would Disney greenlight the identical film today? Doubtful.)
Another great reason to see 'Incredibles 2' is the accompanying short: 'Auntie Edna'. (What happens when baby Jack Jack is dropped off, with Edna as baby sitter? Edna is just aching for what is missing in her life - a challenge! But, is even Edna up for THIS challenge?) :)
The Incredibles was released a little bit before the (modern) Fantastic Four movie. After Incredibles was released, F4 went back to do reshoots as they realized the versatility the team could have using their powers in combat.
I guess the reason JackJack has all those powers is because, as you said, every family member abilities are based on what they are in their secret identities, like the daughter being invisible because she is invisible at school and mom is elastic because she is all over the place, the baby has all the powers because he is a baby with all the potential to be any superhere.
The teacher WAS right, Dash did put the tack. We clearly saw him do it in the first shot of the security footage. I'm shocked that teacher didn't turn into the next movie's villain.
Nah, I heard he got cancer then got fired or something because of a bunch of missing chemistry supplies.

18:07 That whole 'it's 8 O'clock, do you know where your children are?" saying originated in Atlanta in the late 1970's to early 1980s when there was a child-killing serial killer on the prowl. There was a television newscaster who would ask that question every night in view of the danger at the time.
I will say it again...these two are the funniest film reactors on YT. 😂😂
Fantastic Four is often referred to as the "first family" as they were the first ever "team" of superheroes that Marvel published. I assume that's why they were the template for The Incredibles.... its a really good proxy for sure, though its not dead on. Elastigirl is a dead ringer for Mr. Fantastic, and so is Violet for Sue Storm. Heck even Jack-Jack is a solid match for Franklin Richards, but Mr. Incredible really only has the good sides of the Thing's powers... doesn't have to deal with being a rock monster. Dash for Johnny Storm is the biggest stretch... superspeed and fire powers don't really gel at all.
FYI there’s a short film released on the DVD called Jack Jack Attack which is about the baby developing his powers during the baby sitter experience.. It’s HILARIOUS
Hearing George say they are a family in a camper makes me think of Little Miss Sunshine. Talk about a good movie!

They have been in touch with Brad Bird since he was a kid (he wo an animation contest at the age of 12 and got to meet the Disney animators including another Nine Old Man Milt Kahl, who became sort a mentor to him, nice but "tough", meaning he would would not shy from telling him what his short-comings in animating was, giving him constructive critism) and he'd show storyreels while working on both this movie and Iron Giant, giving him advice on how to improve the story. Sadly, Frank Thomas passed away a couple of months before the release of the film, so he didn't get to see the finished film in life. They also cameod in The Iton Giant as train eningeers.
Incredibles 2 IMO is even better than the first.
Don’t do drugs kids!!!
I love the theory that Edna made Syndrome's costume but made it have a cape because they always bring about the person's downfall
He invented and designed everything but stopped at the costume?
He also had a cape as a kid too
I'm just realizing that bernies voice actor (dash's teacher) is the voice of linguini from ratatouille
Incredibles II -> you see more of Edna Mode and Jack Jack.
Edna babysitting Jack-Jack : great scenes.
Edna Mode’s voice. Director Brad Bird brought in Lilly Tomlin for audition.
She listened to Brad’s demo voice track … and told him, “you do it better than I could”.
So, Brad Bird did Edna’s voice (his imitation of costume designer Edith Head).
As good as this one is, part 2 is even better
Meh mid villain, mid story
yeah the second sucks man what are you on about
I’m sorry but WHAT?! 💀💀💀💀
Not even close.
Not comparable
The voice of Edna Mode is Brad Bird, the writer/director
Man I remember going to watch this in theaters and the Disney Channel always had some behind the scenes clips in-between different shows
It really is a good movie.
The music is great, excellent cast and characters the mom saving the children in the airplane scene has more emotion in it the older you get.
And the boy on the tricycle is hilarious!
The director, Brad Bird, actually did the voice of Edna Mode. He did her voice for storyboarding and then they just could not find an actor that could do it better than he could.
One of the things I most loved about this was the styling of the credits at the end, and the music along with it.
Dash is voiced by the lead guitarist for the band "Charly Bliss". They're fun.
For the Incredibles 2 movie the producers created another short in which Jack Jack spends time with Edna.
dayuumm george, that longsword in the background looks bananas!! the amount of detail on that cleaver is wiiild. thats genuine godslaying weapon right there
