- In this video I show you how to turn off on the sound the washer and dryer make when you turn it on, select cycles and options and turn off the end of cycle signal. When you turn this option off, it won't chime to let you know. If you turn it on again, it will chime once.
You can turn the "Signal" on again by repeating the same procedure. The only difference is it will chime once to indicate the sounds are back on again.
On my washer, the option to turn off all the sounds shares the button with the "Cold Wash" option as an extra option labeled "*Signal". Extra options are indicated by "*" the extra option. To activate the extra options, you have to hold that button for at least 3 seconds.
Just to let you know, my pedestal washer doesn't have a way to turn off the sounds.
I apologize if the video goes a little out of focus at times.

You have no idea how much you have improved my life! The manual did not mention this. These Jingles were driving me up the wall… you could hear them all through the house. I was ready to take a hammer to my dryer! Now…. Blissful silence! I just turned off the screeching sound on my microwave oven as well. Silence is golden! Thank you so very much! ❤❤❤
Ditto! Was driving me CRAZY!!!!
This video saved me from going crazy cause I couldn't figure out how to turn the sound back on .Thank you so much !!
Thank you so much, I appreciate you making this video. I was able to turn the signal back on which brought me great joy.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, My washer & dryer is identical to yours, but my washer came with the sound and the dryer never had it. Could not find in manual and then I came across your posting of this. Now my washer and dryer has this sound. Thanks again!
Mo problem. I'm glad it helped.
Can't thank you enough after watching 15 other videos, you actually got it right!
Thank you!
Just what I needed! My dryer end of cycle signal stopped beeping and I thought the dryer was defective since we recently purchased the dryer.
Thank you again! It is now working via your video.
This is the only video I’ve found with the correct answer for my model. Thank you!
I KNEW someone had to have a video on this. Thanks so much!
Thank you. Couldn't find the correct information to do this .Appreciate your help.
Thank you a thousand times for saving my sanity, can't wait to get rid of this ridiculous racket. :) I can only conclude the person who designed this must have thought the operator was too stupid to know they were standing there using it. I can not find anywhere in my manual where it instructs how to turn off the signals.
Thank you soooooo much! I personally like the sound! I must have accidentally turned it off and couldn’t figure out how to turn it back on!!!
Good video. I accidentally turned my sound off. Didn’t know how to turn it back on. Thanks.
Ding ding ding ding >>>>THANK YOU....
Thank you!! So simple but I had no idea!
Had to look for this before finding and saw other videos with people wondering how to turn OFF the Melody... So WHY is the word "signal" what you have to look for on your washer or dryer?? Why not have word "SOUND". I think that is why more people can't just look at their washer or dryer and figure it out.
My big thing about the sound is how quiet the end of cycle signal is because a lot of people like me have their laundry area in the basement where we can't possibly hear it. The older washers and dryers had a loud buzzer on them that you could hear through the floor.
Thank you sir for you’re help
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
I accidentally turned off my musical chime on my new top-loading washer. My panel looks different than the one in the video. When I press and hold my signal button, I get a “CL” code, but the chime dies not come back. Saw nothing about this in the manual. Help please!
Thanks for sharing. I presume this option (turning off the signal sounds) is not available on all brands.
Most likely not. Just look at the owners manual that came with your machine. You can usually find them on the manufacture's website if you don't have one.
Thank you so much
Thank you very much!
Thanks so much!!
My is not responding to that. What else should I do? I want to recover the sound
Thank you SOOOO much....
Does anyone know how to do this for the Electrolux model?
Thank you, the whirlpool duet here doesn't have any additional functions and doesn't have the word *signal anywhere! Sad🙁😡
Oh my goodness same! I don't have any of the obvious buttons that are meant to turn off the chime. 🤦🏼
I have the exact same model as in your video, and when I tried what you suggested it didn’t work 😢
yes its work i thoughts the same , just need to press 3 or 4 second and wait for the beeep
@@israeltelleria837 unfortunately that is exactly what I did do and I have tried multiple times.
After you turn on the dryer, spin the large knob around and around several times and then push the "Dry Level" button holding it down for 6 seconds. That worked for me.
God, thank you so much for this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a ge and it doesn't have signal button🙁
How to get a different browser instead of safari
Didn’t work Maytag bravo xl
Thanks for trying
This video did not need to be 4 mins 😅
I like making long videos so it eats as much space on the RUclips servers as possible.
Stop talking and do the deed !
I'd like for you to come and make me stop talking. You'd lose.
Thank you very much.
