Winter in Shirakawago ❄️ 2022

Shirakawago became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995. The village is famous for their traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old.
It looks extraordinary in winter when the farmhouses are covered with thick snow. Everywhere you look is a sight to behold.
From Nagoya Station, take the limited express train to Toyama or Takayama. It takes around two hours and forty four minutes to reach Takayama. Then take the bus to Shirakawago. The ticket office is right next to Takayama Station. The bus ride takes about an hour.
You can also take the bus from Nagayo Station to Shirakawago. However, you need to book the ticket in advance and make a reservation or else you can't buy any ticket from the station.
