From a fellow Deere mechanic. As soon as I saw a gauge checking charge pressures, it became clear Dave knows his stuff and gave a very good overview of the inner workings/failure points, in a way that could be understood by folk who don't spend hours fixing tractors. Not many people left who are happy to work on 40 and 50 series Deeres. Even less who are happy to work on the US powershift versions! My Dad had a stroke 4 years ago and has since had another and it’s really buggered up life for him, we’re not farming folk but he grew up in the country and he’s passed on the importance of the countryside and country ways ever since, taught me how to fix things like I’ve no doubt your Dad has to you. I’m sure everyone watching this will understand and no doubt take a moment to have a wee think about their family. Now for a video with a Robin getting fired of a Chiefs barrel into a field driven by Adam 🤣 👍🏻

Bloody brilliant Joe. Keep on looking after your Dad Joe cus one day you'll wake up and he won't be with you anymore, and when that day comes mate it will rip your heart right out of your chest. I lost my Dad in January 2023 quite unexpectedly, and mate i will never ever get over it. My Dad brought me my younger brother and sister up on his own after my mum left for another bloke in the mid 80s and when i tell you we had nothing i mean we had nothing, and yet he did his best to raise 3 kids and try and earn a few quid at the same time and no matter what he always did his best. The year my mother left us she took everything. I remember Christmas came and Dad was crying because he didn't have anything for us but we were all just happy because we were together. My mother had taken so much she left her 3 kids with their Dad to have beans on toast with fried egg on top for our Christmas dinner but we we with Dad so we were happy. Things did obviously get better over those tough years, and Dad worked his bollocks off to make sure we never had beans on toast for Christmas dinner ever again. My Dad was my absolute hero Joe and my best friend as well and not a day goes by without me thinking about him. So you keep on spoiling your Dad Joe cus you never know when it might just be for the very last time!!! Cheers Joe, John 👍

Another cracking video. Big Dave's expertise was a pleasure to listen to. And good on you for looking after Dad. I hope he enjoys his new workhorse.

That's it: even though *you* are not that much into farming - but your dad is. And you respect and support his way of life. Just great. Thanks for showing and several big thumbs-up for craftsman like Big Dave who actually can *repair* stuff other than just replace someting.

I thought you were a good man and you have shown that you are true to that. Dave is a great chap to fix that JD440 for you and your Dad. Thinking up that bearing housing repair was great and to get it done was excellent. Proud to see that some of our British engineering prowess is still alive. Good follow up video.

As an engineer myself, I love to see people working out what’s wrong with things then fixing them. 👍👍

Holy, I have not seen a set up like that on a lathe. What's he got, like a faceplate with round bar attached to the chuck with something on the end to hold a carbide tip? I don't really deal with engines so that might be normal.
Mad props to Big Dave, who has a barely contained joy hiding behind his voice when testing and diagnosing and generally involving himself with what normal people would find completely infuriating and miserable.

Well done Joe, you are a good son. Glad I have a complete 2150 laying around as a spare for my 43 year old 2150, the gearbox looks rather complicated

That's some lovely goft you gave your dad, mate. Well done.
Dave''s autopsy of the gearbox was a pleasure to listen. A rare find, these days.
    Cheers.
