      One day you should really try it. Not scary at all. I know you've mentioned you've never tried it because it's kind of gross, which it is if you think about it lol. Or maybe try Jamaican style oxtails. Those are bomb! It's a routine medical procedure to not eat fibrous foods, and no red or purple dyed or colored foods. I'm sure if you're near my age or older you've done it if you get my drift. LOL

    BAck in my married days when I would visit Indonesia with my then wife, we would hit the little food stalls and get ox tail and it was so divine. You are bringing back some old memories!!!! lol. I don't think I have had ox tail in 10 years. if you ever put beans on to slow cook over night, ox tails thrown in makes them yummy!!!

    Hi Misty , Remind me to get some of that citronella spray as we don’t have it here in Sydney , I’m adding it to my list !
    This K&M Drive Inn pricing is amazing. On my list is to eat is Ox Tail Soup , doing some research I haven’t found any ox tail soup close to$15 bucks , there all been around $25 to $29. Your soup is certainly great value with huge chunks of meat !
    Cheers Rod 🤙

      I'll try to remember but I don't see it here much unless it is the Off brand spray. I got mine off Amazon. Sometimes it works well like at Ala Moana Beach Park and in Wahiawa and other times when flies are aggressive and hungry it doesn't work such as this park. It helped somewhat but they hovered around. Still better than nothing though.

The Thai green curry was amazing; it looks awesome and comparable to my favorite Thai restaurant’s, Sala Thai, Fremont, CA, curry but at a larger portion, even the rice was huge, but at a good ”price-point.” The oxtail soup looks amazing and I hope to try it during the next trip home. Yr food looked great and super affordable. I don't see how K&M makes any profit on the oxtail soup. On the mainland, oxtails are selling at $10.99/lb. I see they also serve Pho Oxtail soup. You mentioned the oxtail soup is very rich tasting, unlike the lighter Chinese version. I suspect K&M cooks it Vietnamese style which has many more spices and seasonings i.e., star anise, cinnamon, cardamon, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, cloves and fish sauce.

    • @FoodFiend
      @FoodFiend  6 месяцев назад +2

      Yes I don't know how they do it. The taste was different but still yummy. There was no anise seed flavor to me even though others say they taste it. A rich beefy broth with buttery aftertones with a slight hint of soy.
