As a younger NASCAR fan, I did enjoy Heat 5. It isn't best game ever but it was pretty good.

If the cars are drivable like the XBOX version of Heat 5, or better, with a better paint booth and career mode, I'll consider it a successful entry to build off of.

If it’s anything playable and it properly functions I’d call good enough for me it’s been years since we’ve had a halfway decent game

I grew up on nascar 2011, inside line, and 2014. They all have a very special place in my heart. It’s where I learned about racing and found my love for nascar

I want it to match NASCAR thunder 2004 but i think maybe that's farfetched. If it can be like NASCAR inside line minus the bugs and glitches and actually have the AI be smart and competitive then that would be a good start
I hope they program the AIs to react as individual drivers and not like a botnet/hive mind. Also, if they could have a few custom attributes based on the real drivers that would be cool.
I still remembered NT2004, THE GOATED NASCAR GAME.
Things I want in NASCAR 25:
* Xfinity, Trucks, Modifieds, ARCA, and Weekly Series
* Driver injuries (no deaths)
* A "race director's mode" where you control all aspects of the race, including flags, penalties, and even taking control of any car you want, all to live out your NASCAR fantasy
* Extensive modding support on PC
* Day-to-night transitions
* Dynamic weather
* An in-depth career mode with the ability to hire multiple drivers, team mergers and acquisitions, using older equipment (IE using Dodge or Pontiac engines in the Modifieds), charter negotiations, building and selling engines to other teams, and attracting new OEMs such as Dodge and Honda
* An extensive, user-friendly paint booth with the ability to import custom logos and numbers; said paint booth would also be mod-friendly on PC, and you could share your paint schemes online; no more having to learn GIMP

oh it ain't going to be good. Just look at the numerous screw ups iRacing has done in the past that have been exposed by Austin Ogonoski.

If the game just came out right before the Daytona 500 with monthly updates it would be the best nascar game ever made

One of my favorites was Nascar Dirt to Daytona, a 2002 PS2 game. Not many have lived up to the career mode and playability. I agree that the EA Sports era was pretty good. But like so many others have commented, just give us a playable game with a good career mode, and we will be happy.
Honestly you could’ve just summarized it as “Because we are so desperate for something remotely good”

This is a good example of "lowering expectations" in that you shouldn't expect every great idea and feature to be in the first game, but you should absolutely expect a rear view mirror and track map.
I just hope NASCAR 25 can be as amazing as NASCAR THUNDER 2004 and can be moddable and has Whelen Euro Series and Whelen Modified Series.

Seeing as a good part of the iracing devs were in papyrus, i have high hopes
i played Heat (4, i think) like last year and what bothered me was that it's just not fun... even if the stuff around the races was interesting (which it simply isn't), that doesn't matter if the main aspect is just something i'm not excited to play...
let the simulator aspect be done by iRacing and just make a game that's fun and has a great gameplay looo that keeps people wanting to play the next race with good tweaks around that

We need customization to the game 🎮 meaning like a custom season race schedule, tracks to pick from rather they race there or not also including international racetracks as well. Also a way to pick the points system that the season will be for the championship 🏆😊

The reasonable expectation should be what game the community last collectively agreed on to be acceptable. Which would be Heat 4.
This is iRacing/Monster Games we're talking about. So don't have your expectations through the damn roof, but also don't satisfy yourself with them just scraping by the bottom of the barrel.

All I’m saying is, 2012-2015 those games had the best super speedway racing and paint booths of all time
Heat 3-5 were fun because i felt that it was kind of a call back to the EA games that had the Nationwide, Truck, and Wheelen Modified cars from back when we were kids... but i loved the visuals and schemes for the cars and everything... to me though... NH4 was the absolute worst handling game... couldnt even touch the apron at Darlington without spinning every time... i really hope that '25 is just good at this point... Eutechnyx (dunno how to spell it) games were dope IMO... they felt real... like the cars had some sort of weight behind them... once we got to 704... the cars felt like flaccid noodles.. i have faith in iracing after playing WoO... that they will make a respectable game. Heres hoping! Shoutout to you, Darian! Hope youre staying cool and safe man!

I believe the nuts and bolts of the gameplay will be great now. As for any additional features, such as career mode will probably have some to be desired. iRacing has a good track record with physics, track scanning and etc. I wish you would have elaborated as to what was not going to be great about it.
NASCAR 09 had really good racing physics imo. It really lacked in features but the core gameplay was super fun
I hope they do a bi-annual release instead of a yearly. Yearly just always turns into a roster update with minor changes. That in my mind is the slow killer for all sport games and online play.
I'd be fine with a DLC in between. Farming Simulator is a small team and they do every other year. With them, each release, I feel, adds so much to the game it keeps me coming back.
They really have all the tools to have a career mode that spans from street stocks, CARS Tour all the way up to Cup. But we'll see.

I want an owners mode similar to franchise/MyGM modes in other sports games, recruit drivers/crew chiefs and etc get sponsorships, better your team performs more money you make and better sponsorship offers you get etc etc
Also the ability to simply watch races and watch how your drivers perform and not necessarily HAVE to race yourself
This just needs to be better than nascar 21, that’s gonna be impressive for a new nascar game
I enjoyed playing NASCAR 06 and 07 and thunder 04 as well but I can't wait until the New NASCAR game.😊
A thunder 04 style career mode for this game would be awesome.
I trust iRacing will go above and beyond though. They made the World of Outlaws game better than the mainstream NASCAR game--imagine what they can do with the help of the Cup Series marketing/PR team...

I just want a game where we can race the non points races. I want to be allowed to run the Duels at Daytona, the All Star Race, and I don't really care about the clash but ya know

I don’t think that’s ever possible tbh, you’d have to code the AI to any custom track you’d make and I mean you can’t do that unless you make a new game

Not putting Dirt to Daytona on any “great” list is straight craziness.
That, and Thunder 04 are the best the series has seen on console.
The game will be playable. I believe it will be great in the sense that people will love it compared to ignition and heat. The 2nd and 3rd games will be better
We just want a good game period. Hell I don’t hate heat 4&5 the racing on some of the tracks is actually pretty good on legendary setting
My favorites were Nascar 04 and 06 were my favorites

Nascar Heat 5 is great. However on career mode it's impossible to join teams like 23XI, Trackhouse or even Penske at some degree. Also since the nextgen update, being limited to one paint scheme sucks
Yeah I agree and they didn't let you customize a car either and the update but that's okay At least I can go back to the 2020 season and play with the custom car I'm letting them slide because they just reskin the outside of the car and the inside the car looks the same as the 2020 Gen 6 cars So I felt that the cars were just a reskin and that's about it
Give me an updated thunder 2004 and I’ll be happy. Also if you could import your own paint schemes kinda like how nba 2k does with create a team. I’d also love it for them to include the lower series’s and have the same kind of deal as 05 where you could hire drives for your teams as you move up. Wishful thinking I know but I’d love to see it.
I don’t know if it’ll happen or not but when the game comes out next year I’m guessing that IRacing wants us to make an IRacing account in the game my opinion but I don’t think it’ll happen
I still play Inside Line and NASCAR 14.
All they need to do is make a basic, fun to play game and itll be a smash hit. Dont need a crazy paint booth or career mode yet, save those for future games
maybe don't make your marketing of the car's performance a complete lie and maybe I'd believe it. Don't come crying to me when you have cars that get faster lap times than GT3 cars.
All you saying "oh just make a game that starts and save all the 'extra stuff' like career mode for the future" are something else. Standards like those is why the industry has gone to shit.
It will be a success if it will have physics better than the Heat series.

I love NASCAR Thunder . But I also love playing Nascar Heat 5 I got next Gen DLC that is fun game . I waiting for them make NASCAR 21 free. As long as NASCAR 25 has custom cars that I can customize and that is on PC and that plays just like NASCAR Heat 5 then I'll buy it

i think the great nascar game era ended with 06.. 07 was a copy paste with a reskinned ford. and 06 may not have as good of graphics or may have fallen off a little after 05 but me and my brothers would play nascar 06 for HOURS and it wouldnt get boring.. after that 15 was decent and heat 5 was ok/good but yea it ended after nascar 05/06 somewhere in there

Looking at the Codemaster F1 series, their first game F1 2009 was kinda mid, in which the next release was a much better version.
It doesn't have to be a great game, it merely has to be GOOD and it'll automatically be the best NASCAR game released in the last decade. I want it to be great though.
Since its from iracing (and we know how great the AI is) the racing will be amazing.
They have all the licenses to make a great career, the only question is, do they know how to make a great career mod.

@LOLRacing06 first of all i dont race any class that uses tc or abs, i dont enjoy them.
As for cars faster than real life, in asetto corsa people are lapping lime rock in mx5s in the 52-55 second range. Those are real life gt3 times.
Im not under any belief or assumption that any sim is 100% totally real nor do i spend all my time on one single sim. I enjoy most of them except acc, the thing is tho i just dont play it so i feel no need to complain about it on the internet nor do i need to form some mental gymnastics to why i would need to complain about something i dont play. I tend not to want to portray myself or other sim racers off as childish buffoons

NASCAR 25 will be successful because its a sports game all you got to do is change up the music, menus, add a fresh coat of paint and there ya go that is what NASCAR 25 will be. If you want a good NASCAR game you have to play 20 year old NASCAR games, play a NASCAR Roblox game, or just buy diecasts and play with them. And some of you might say "No this game will be great" just look how many hyped up games and other sports games have faired. NASCAR also signed an exclusive deal which basically means NASCAR games are gonna suck since NASCAR is dead and no one can produce games NASCAR is stuck where all Iracing has to do is put out average games and make a lot of money and NASCAR will be happy.
Heat 1 was trash I actually really liked heat 2 heat 3 was the best heat 4 was really cool with the graphics update but pretty much the same game heat 5 is ok it’s definitely fun and the ai is a little bit improved but it’s mostly just a roster update the only reason why I still play it is because it’s the most recent roster without playing ignition I’m replaying the career mode right now for five the thing I hate most about it so far in career mode is I don’t know if mine is bugged or something but I don’t have the option to apologize to drivers so by the third or fourth race of the season I have the whole grid being rivals with me

This is just sad. You're the second content creator that I've heard say we don't need a great game. It's not hard to give us an EA 05 version. Plus this is coming from a company that has made great racing games for 20 years . Now we are saying ahh just make an average to good game. We've been getting shafted for 15yrs on games

Ok this has gone too far. You have exposed to us that you have no idea what iRacing has been doing behind the scenes and it is not good. Likely the game will have terrible tire models and lap times comparable to GT3 cars. Don't forget iRacing's hypocritical harassment campaigns against critics which Austin Ogonoski was a victim of. In my opinion, it's about time that we start putting sim racing in the grave and get back to reality.
