- Time has finally come... cows are out! spring cows got out slightly earlier with bulls back in and autumn cows had to wait a little longer as we are in an environmental scheme to protect ground nesting birds.

Another brilliant video. Fabulous herd of cows and calves. Thanks for sharing.
Yous have a fantastic herd of cows some seriously good calves fair play and best of luck with your batch of new heifers
Who let the cows out 😊 you did. Nice Herd of cattle.
Fields looks great after a hard winter ❤
Move em out, head em on up
Keep them dogies movin... Rawhide..
Well before your time but yr dad might remember it.. 😂
Great to see them out enjoying that green stuff. ❤
Looks like a well managed herd to me. Weather looks fantastic. You've earned it.
Hi Nichola , some healthy looking stock you have there , bulls look fit well muscled. What a difference from the severe wet lambing you’ve had , green fields sun happier times ! Stay safe mum is proud I’m sure god bless you Dad,Davy all who helped 👏🐂🐄🐑
Here in Canada the buyers prefer Angus x simmental calves, 3/4 Angus or more. Very rare to see a white bull out anywhere here or the USA
Super Stock 👌 💯
Great looking bunch of heifers. How many cows do you have. The finest bunch of sim x cows I've seen in a long time.
Those cows are so lovely! They look like they have very sweet natures. Just beautiful, can’t wait to see them in the future of the channel. ❤❤
Good choice, beautiful heifers, they look to have some shorthorn in them?
Great video loved seeing the cattle stock look fantastic
Brilliant video👍
Liking the positive energy Nicola!
I’m not a farmer but your livestock look healthy and full of vigour ! 💪
Lovely heifers
Cattle and calves looking awesome good job 👏
How many arces of silage to cut ?
When roughly?
Are the wind turbines yours?
Thank you, silage around 220 acres. First cut usually around second half of June and second cut August/ September.
Don’t own the turbines but they are on our land 😊
I'll roll the fields for you. lol
Nice heifers
Ye have serious sucklers and good bulls between cattle and sheep how do ye keep it all done
Nice
Great video. How many turbines do you have on your farm?
Just like to say big fan of you how come you don't have a simental bull for replacement great job❤
Thank you 😊
Have always thought about it, but it would require separate herds for spring & autumn again/ would need to bull more cows because without doing sex semen no guarantee of heifer numbers and even then might not all be suitable for breeding. We would have to weigh up the option of selling less calves each year compared to not having to buy in heifers
ever used an Angus bull on your heifers ?
Dad used to a good few years ago
How many cows do ye run?
Running around 220 at present
@@LivestockfarmHER2 WOW you and your father are fairly big farmers in Scotland or are there farms with a lot more cows and calves? That is a lot of work calving out that many cows along with 700+ ewes. Do you employ many people to make hay/silage and help with all the chores?
Would probably be on the slightly larger side of farms for around here but we’re definitely not the biggest 😊. Contractors do our silage as we can’t justify the cost of the machinery
