I've been wanting to do this on my Beetle for years, but there's a distinct lack of aftermarket parts available - hit and miss on ebay etc. My skirts aren't as bad, but recently had to have them welded. Read on a Beetle forum one guy covered his with rubber floor matting and actually looks quite decent lol. Think I prefer your idea with the covers though

Were did you get the skirts at ? I like how they go up the rear fender, which is prone to rust in the east.
I got the skirts off of eBay motors for a Mk4 beetle and retrofitted them but they scrape on everything😂💯

I honestly have no idea but I had to retrofit the Mk4 side skirts to fit this bug but since you have the Mk4 bug, they should just be bolt ons.
