- Once Human is just about the best zombie post-apocalypse survival game I’ve ever played? Oh, they aren’t zombies, they are deviations? Ok, details but they give off a zombie vibe so it checks the box for me. The Once Human Beta opened on Thursday at 9:30 pm Eastern Time and I’ve basically spent all my free time (and my streaming time) in the game tearing it apart. Are there some bugs? Yes, it is a Beta. Are there some things that need improvement? Yes, again it’s a Beta. Is the game fun? Yes.
Are there a lot of little things that players are overlooking? Yes, and after seeing the same questions come up over and over again in the in-game chat I figured I’d put together a little tip video
Some of the things this video touches on is the fact that character weight in the character creator actually has meaning, so if you make a skinny minnie, an average frame, or a chunky monkey you will get both bonuses and penalties. If you are just playing through for the first time, follow V’s advice until you meet up with Mary at Deadsville. Yes, this is an Open World survival MMO, but it has a solid contingent of PVE in it, so you want to make sure you get all the bits and pieces going (including a free motorcycle) before you start to venture off on your own. While you are working on getting to Deadsville embrace your inner Negan and get a bat. Make sure you unlock your commissions with V at Deadsville. This is a huge source of XP and will help move your leveling along.
If you find yourself stuck at Rotten Manor and can’t activate the Rift Anchor, well you need to double back to Deadsville. This is one place that a lot of people stick on. There’s some other advice and stuff in this video, so if you want more give it a like and then tell me what other questions you have about this game.

The first tip is literally mind breaking for me I had no clue that there was an impact from character creation.
I noticed the icon after making about my 5th character. I usually make pretty demented slender man looking monstrosities and I was like "wait a minute, what's this icon"

Great, now I know what to do in a game that hasn't even been released yet.
While it is true a the game hasn't been released yet, there are a lot of people struggling in Beta with the simple things. Some, because they've never played Once Human before, some because they don't play Survival Games.

I'm not sure when the console port is coming. It won't be on console at launch.
I don't know if im wrong, but usually this type of games (asian [pc-mobile]) dont come out on console.
Though they should.. the game already has controller settings.

What about when your deviation starts showing numbers like your near something or when it starts flashing at the top of the pack?
I'm still trying to work that out. It clearly means something, as does the beeping, but I have no idea what it means. I'm not sure if the Korean was translated properly to 0-9 numbers.

Things I did before followin the fisrt step of the main story:
- I made a gigantic house. And now I can't move it to other locations bc of it's size...
-Fought the bus monster using only my pickaxe (I lost)
- Beated my first boss (I think it is the second or third in the main story) only using the torch. Though I accidentally clicked Esc while trying to take a screenshot and lost the prizes 😢
-Got my first weapon (can't use it because it's for lvl 20 only, I'm like lvl 12)
- Stole a LOT of premium gasoline (or whatever its called) and stardust from other players. I don't even know what are those for.
- Learnt to play the in-game piano.
- Soloed the disco event.
- Took pictures of me fishing while two of those big flying monsters were above. (Don't know how to fish so I got nothing)
Now I will try to actually follow the story and listen to V 😂😅
Remember, its not just the destination, its the fuck ups we have on the journey.
