Cool, Glen. I found a blue '58 just like yours in even rougher shape out in the woods, and three years later, she's back on the road and we're having a blast. Good luck on your project getting to know her!
We definitely want to see more buses put back together . I want to find one with no side windows and no rear wi dow if possible . I have a 60s chevy scooby van and love all old school Van's and busses . Thanks for posting the video ,and yes I see it's 3 years old
E vamos a luta para restaurar esta relíquia. Com dedicação e amor paciência e uma boa dose de capricho, terá o resultado esperado e que nós também telespectadores queremos ver. Paulo Roberto da cidade de Juiz de fora MG Brasil.
Good luck Glen your at the beginning of a long adventure. Don't forget to use eye & ear protection along a mask when necessary. Be careful what you breathe in young man there was some very nasty gear around in the 50s, 60s & 70s Keep the videos coming as it's so interesting to watch someone else doing the dirty work. Take care & stay safe 😷🇬🇧👍
you have a long road ahead of you. clean up those floors and there will be pinholes all through them. also the seat stand front parts. steering box I would clean up and put STP in it. then it wont leak. works great.
Hi Glen, I thought there couldn't be a VW bus that is in a worse condition than my current project. Now I know. Good luck with your project. Kind regards Ralph
Glen Glen use a mask when working around asbestos and just in general those particles that you blew on are still floating in the garage it takes months for them to fall to the ground wet it down double bag it great project
Buddy, you ought to go over the floor pan with a hammer and a wire wheel to see just what needs fixing. Create your plan, and then kick it into gear. Don't make extra work! Good luck, love the Kombi!🇺🇸🎩🇺🇸
lot less than UK, I saw a mango in about the same shape (and same part of canada) for 7-10K canadian, told my friend to buy it since I was not selling any of my splits. It sold in a few days....my friend bought a running 63 (??) sundial that was listed for 20K USD....
FYI NEVER take the heater tubes out under the front floor. cut out the piece of the floor that goes behind there and butt it back in. Taking the heater tubes out is a nightmare that is totally unnecessary.
Hi and I have a question please u use a tool at 19.05 to remove brake or clutch pieces Can u or another tell me a name for that I could use one but have searched and thought id ask you ! thanks great videos in the 70;s i had a 21 window kombi van and everyday i kick myself for selling it mike
it's a ball joint separator tool, Harbor Freight has them -- about 10 dollars. Really handy on taking out the center steering... I had mine cranked all the way on my 67, got out from under it, wondering what I was going to do, I said God Help Me, and BOOM, it popped apart. Got to have that tool...
Glen, guy told me to video my vanagon westy resto, man I don't those skills....so people do want to see. Next, Free All works wonders on fasteners, Kroil is good, but Free All is better. Mike F N has awesome videos on resto of two buses....white camper, and orange bucket truck... check out Marcie June Bug, she has a 58 she is doing and in her videos are links to other VW lovers.

I like your “ can do “ attitude.Good show.
Sweet bus Glen!!!
This is a really good first vid. More please!
good luck buddy it looks pretty much all there dont overdo stuff
From one Glen to another, restored a '66 bus in the UK 25 years ago. The rotisserie is much better than lying on your back with a faceful of rust!
on that one I would too. most rust underneath. some I do they have more upper rust.
Glen remember heat is your friend. Use your gas torch to heat up the nuts and bolts and you'll be surprised how you can free them up.
The rotisserie definitely would had made mine easier. I put mine up on ramps. Looks like your approach is well thought out.

There is a lot of work ahead of you. Have fun and succeed..👍👍
Good Job so far, next video please
Fantastic, having her on the side like that makes life a lot easier.
They are all worth redemption and restoration
Holy smokes that baywindow is way too nice to be sitting there in the weeds.
The real question is how much are you willing to invest to bring it back?
Love to have a 67 either pickup type or delux
Nice VW
Smart move the cage around the bus!!

great project
Looking good I’m doing very similar on my channel, keep up the good work
I would love to see what you can do with this
hello, how are you, why don't you make more videos? What happened to the blue '58? Greetings Mark from Germany 🤙🏻
I will say it again Klassic Fab can make your life easier.
Glen you aren’t one to shy away from a challenge are you?
Una reliquia
Watch Fitzee for great fabrication advice, he is good.

Gorgeous
Great patina, What was the ballpark figure for this? I hope you dont mind me asking...Wish we could still find these in the U,K

That's a great tip, thank you

@@DanTheManIOM hi and thanks for the info appreciate it !
Like the vidoe ! Will follow your work. How did you get hold of the rotisseri ? Made it yourself ?
It belongs to a friend of mine! It works very well! I don’t think you could pull off a full resto without it.
Hoping that the rest of the VW buses in that field are rescued soon!
For never redoing a floor you sure are prepared
You are up to 4 likes. Does that make this viral yet?
Vancouver area Canada? my best guess. maybe Nanaimo
Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada

Good lord that thing is a heap.
Hey Glen
Where do you get plans, dimensions for your rotisserie? I’m starting soon on my 66 bus
If you search in the Samba, there’s a very good forum on rotisserie’s.
Samba has the plans, dimensions on how to make them... careful, you could lose a saturday morning, just saying, happened to a friend of mine.....
Cancelled?
i think the best flooring in there is stainless sheets.. and for the body too so it can live forever..
What happened to your restoration? Did you sell this project?
I think he did and got the mango bus instead
I LIKE IT... I WOULD LOVE TO SIT ON IT AND LATER CHANGE TYRES TO IT AND CHANGE OIL TO IT
Is van deze fraaie docu ook nog een "happy end", zou zo graag zien wat het resultaat is !!!!!
Gebruik nou een goed gereedschap
Mmmm
COMBI ! ? 😂
hows it going with the resto? Is your wallet dry now ? mine is :)
More on talking
Can't watch music is bad
Why not just let the earth finish reclaiming it?
