Bacon Brown Sugar Ribs Smoked On The Weber Kettle

- Pork on pork. I had to find out if it would work, so that meant one thing--I'd be putting my Bacon Brown Sugar Rub on a rack of St. Louis cut spareribs and smoking them on the Weber Kettle using some peach wood. A quick glaze with some BBQ sauce finished them off and the end result was nothing short of pork heaven.

#bacon #cooking #ribs #bbq #barbecue
That's the way I like my ribs that was perfect! I've never heard of that great idea I will be trying this over the weekend!
I have to say, this was a fun cook and a killer rub with that bacon :)
Ry, the sweet baby Ray's Vidalia is my favorite sauce!
As someone just getting familiar with the hobby, today I cooked my first rack of pork ribs using your method and it was a huge success. Living in Hungary but visiting the US on business occasionally, I was glad I had the chance to introduce the authentic taste of low and slow BBQ to my family and friends here at home and now they are hooked. The detailed instructions, especially on setting up the kettle helped me tremendously. Thank you Ry!
Tender ribs and firm bacon. Ry's off his meds!
That's the kind of tender I want in my ribs. Nicely done, Ry.
I'll FedEx you some :)
After watching, I smoked some ribs for the first time and followed what you did! SO Good!
Showing the vents, and how they effect the temps,as well as how much charcoal to add at the beginning is such a helpful thing.Bless you sir!!
Bac... Bac... BACON!!!! Love the idea of making a bacon dust for a rub. So many uses!
Absolutely!
I have never seen anyone enjoy their ribs as much,my goodness they looked wonderful, worth the effort!
I'm a rib fanatic. My body is basically 50% pork :)
My wife loves fall off the bone ribs, so therefore I cook them that way lol. They do melt in your mouth. Bacon and brown sugar is an awesome idea!
I wasn't going to deny them their place in my belly simply because they were too tender :)
Just cooked these up today. And WOW! were they amazing. First time i smoked ribs. Just like yours - fall of the bone. Will need better anticipate when to remove ribs out of foil. Overall fantastic ribs really happy with how they turned out. Cheers, Michael from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.
I saved bacon fat and applied to ribs before the rub, and it was amazing! (highly recommended) Gonna try this method though too. Maybe combine the 2. Who knows...Thanks for another awesome video!
Good idea! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
It's 4 a.m. and I'm watching videos because today I'm doing ribs on my Weber Kettle. Seeing this video has changed my plans for the day. I never thought of cooking up bacon and grinding it up for a rub. What a awesome idea. Thanks 👍👍👍👍😍
Glad we found you today! These look amazing! You have a nice teaching manner. We got a weber and I got my hubby the slow and sear and a masterbuilt electric smoker. Can't wait to try your recipes. Thank you!
That's a nice combo of cookers! You can make some delicious food with those :)
I have GOT to try this rub. Good one Ry!
Ry, smoked the bacon brown sugar ribs today..... Oh Mann!
That is so awesome!
The flavour.... wow!
Thanks for the recipe.
Adrian in Canada.
That’s fantastic!
Bacon brown sugar rub? That doesn’t sound like it sucks at all. Sometimes simple is the best way to do things. Looks amazing. Keep crushin it!
Thank you!
This is on my list for when it warms up in the spring and we can get to smoking again! Can't wait to try it! Nice Job!
OH YES.....My mouth is watering
What a wonderful rub! I'll be sure to try this on my next sparerib smoking session! Thanks for all of the great videos and tips!
You're very welcome :)
Nice idea Ry. I’m gonna give this a try. Thanks!
I need this in my life NOW... great video as always...
Thank you :)
Wow very very pretty ribs never thought about grinding up bacon and using it like a rub and it looked lke they melted in your mouth...........always appreciate you sharing your knowledge.....
Thank you!
Ty thank you for showing in Canadian celsius as well!
Adrian
You're very welcome.
Those ribs looked fantastic and the bacon brown sugar is a great idea, you made those ribs just the way we like them. Keep up the great work my friend
Thank you!
Made this for the 4th time yesterday, I can’t stop eating Ry!
Looks good. I agree, too done. Too much time in foil. I've reduced my tendency to wrap and enjoyed results. Cheers
Making this Tomorrow for the family! Thanks for the incredible videos!
Hope you enjoy it :)
They look awesome Ry! I dig the rub, great idea for sure.
Thanks! A little too tender for my liking but I couldn't argue with the taste :)
The big wowwwwww. I'll add this to the make list of your many videos. I told a coworker who loves to BBQ to subscribe since when he retires he just wants to cook all the time.
Cool! Thanks :)
Love the ribs. I've never used bacon in a rub before but I have wrapped a peameal bacon roast and a pork tenderloin in bacon. You cant beat pork on pork.
Will try!
Nice video man, going to try this recipe saturday. Thanks and greetz from the Netherlands.
Thank you!
Do this on center cut loins with some cherry pineapple sauce.🔥👍
Wow, great idea on the rub! I will have to try that on my next rack of ribs. I like how you did them very simple on the kettle grill.
I love my kettle :)
Can't believe you ate crispy bacon.😂😂 Those would make a good sandwich. Awsome Ry.
I feel almost unclean :)
Oh man..that looked amazing RY! 👍🏼
Thanks! Bacon on pork sure worked :)
Oh yeah that's a great idea, now I can't wait for the 4th of July. That looked absolutely amazing thanks for the helpful tip
Superb! I may try this on some burnt ends. Thanks for another great idea!
Burnt ends is a great idea!
Can't wait to use this recipe I'm always smoking ribs over here
Pork on pork really works :)
Awesome video thanks for the recipe
Bacon sticky ribs .... yessss
Pork on pork :)
Wow! Can't wait to try this! Thank you!
13:49 Is Where the magic begins
Hi Ry absolutely delicious keep up the good work this a definite try for me thanks very much. From Trinidad.
Thank you!
I found your site when shopping for info on the Slow n Sear and stayed for the cooking. Would not have thought bacon on ribs but why not, bacon makes everything better... except maybe my cholesterol. This is a must try.. might add a shake or two of cayenne since I've done candied bacon with brown sugar and cayenne and that's awesome.
Cayenne would be great!
WOW !!!! That is all
Bro I think you broke the law at least 10 states pork on pork with brown sugar that's a dream come true and still possibly against the law in 10 states keep doing your thing and this is just awesome
I believe I'm no longer allowed in Iowa :)
That may be very true so you be careful out there because I'm pretty sure there's nine other states are not going to be allowed in lol now to be serious them ribs looked absolutely fantastic and you can bet I'm using that rub I'm pretty sure I'll be kicked out of the state of Indiana for it but but if I got to be kicked out of Indiana this is the way to do it
LOL.
That is a cool idea, Ry. Another winner from you to RUclips land.
Thanks!
Ry ,I’m putting this on a toasted bun, grilled apple butter with slice of onion, and a beer. When are you coming over?🇨🇦♥️🇺🇸
That'll work!
I'll be trying out that rub recipe soon. May have to buy stretch pants if I keep watching this channel!
LOL
Bought mine today Ted along with two racks of beef ribs
My mouth was watering ! Excellent Job
Thank you!
My goodness Ry...Those ribs looks good.
Thanks! Bacon and ribs are meant for each other :)
Your reaction at test time always makes me smile :-)
Keep it up Ry!!!!
Thanks :)
Another great cook Ry. Going to have to try that rub combo. Btw, you produce more vids more often then any other bbq channel. Pace yourself man, don't get burned or should I say, smoked out.😄
And me being a "stick burner"fan, I really look forward to your videos using that kinda pit.
👍
I'm having too much fun to slow down right now :) I may be firing up the stick burner this weekend.
The ribs looked amazing
Thank you :)
More bacon is always a good thing, in my opinion. Those ribs look awesome! Cheers Ry!
Thanks!
Hmmm, Bacon and ribs mixed together? Interesting... 👍
Might tasty, I can tell you that :)
You're killin me
Hopefully not. I need you to watch more of my videos :)
Those look amazing, next time just leave em in the foil after you open em and just create a lil boat. That's will also give you something to lift em out the pit with vs using ur spatulas. Just a lil tip, love ur content sir
You truly come up with some amazing ideas.
Thanks!
Caught this video almost a year later. Better late than never. Everything is better with bacon! They looked delicious, Ry! Have you tried this again since the video? Just curious, because you mentioned in the video that you wanted to. I'll need to try this rub. TFS!
I've used that same rub on pork loin and it's great :)
Beautiful! Well done sir!
Another great cook video
Thank you :)
Bacon brown sugar rub? That's something i gotta try! Thanks 😊 🐷 on 🐷
It was a great match with the ribs :)
I think I'm going to mix this with the apple rub you made. Ooooo yeah.
Trying this today, Ry.
I love fall off the bone personally
Ok, I know this was from a few years ago but just seeing this now. Amazing! Did the bacon over power flavor of pork or dilute smoke flavor? Assume you have made this a few more times since this video? Assuming friends and family love it?
I would actually add more bacon flavor. It works really well.
When you can pull the bones out like that I just like to cut off a chunk (with the bones removed) and eat it on a bun.
Those look super good.
Yeah if I'd known they were going to be that tender I could have done a Bacon Brown Sugar McRib video :)
Looks delicious, going to make some now. 😀
Also, instead of basting with a sweet bbq sauce, try it just with a simple salt and pepper dry rub and dipping it in some Japanese ponzu sauce.
I'll try that today.
Good tip.
Did this recipe the day I saw it. My new all time favorite on my WSM. I have not been u
My church is having a smoked meat cook off in a few weeks. I think this is the winner
Great video Ry!. I enjoy your channel
Thank you very much :)
you have convinced me RY! thnx
Great looking ribs sir!
Thank you :)
Wow, this I got to try
Pork on pork is the best!
Those ribs look great brother!!! Great video
Thank you :)
Lets eat!
Yes....... im gona make this tomorrow. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Dang! On my list now!
These were sooooooooo good :)
Gonna be trying that for sure! Simple and very tasty, very sweet I would imagine? But hey, I can live with that and here am I only gonna have sausage toad in the hole for dinner when I should be cooking them there ribs.🤨
Why do you add some ACV to your spritz? Rather than just all water?
Just depends on how I'm feeling and if I want to add a splash more flavor. I'll often just use water.
RY, excellent ribs thanks for showing another recipe in the kettle. Would you say this could have been a 2-1-1?
I think so. Didn't seem like it had enough flex at 2, but it fooled me :)
Looks great! How about something on the offset. Seems like I’ve only been seeing Weber kettle as of late. Either way love the content
It's been so busy lately that the kettle has been easier, but I'm firing up the Oklahoma Joe's on Saturday :)
Cooking With Ry cant wait
Looks awesome! Can’t wait to try this. To make them a little less tender which time is best to modify? The 3,2, or 1, or does it matter?
I would have cut back on the 2 and done a 3-1-1 or that last part maybe a 1/2 depending on tenderness.
Cooking With Ry Thank you.
Really Sweet Baby Rays = High Fructose Corn Syrup 1st time you don't get a thumbs up. I did not thumbs down either I would just use something else.
No problem. Everyone uses what they like. I enjoy many different sauces, including SBR :)
BACON!!
Looks good to me!
Another great video Ry. Question, have you done a video on removing the membrane? I always do, years back, it was a struggle now it's simple (for me anyway) Just thought some new subs may not even know there is a membrane & why you should remove it & how. Just a suggestion. Thanks for another video.
I have. Here's the video: ruclips.net/video/pQE_nkHokik/видео.html :)
Wow Ry crispy bacon ;this looks killer ,would that extra rub, used somehow work on a pork tenderloin? As always, big Fan.♥️🇨🇦🇺🇸
I think it would be great on any pork :)
Dang that looks good
So I smoked ribs on my highland today. Added brown sugar at the wrap. When I unwrapped them the bottoms of the ribs were black, the sugar had gotten burnt. Maintained temps around 220F. Any suggestions on how to prevent this in the future?
Do yu have any sort of baffle plates in the cook chamber? They help distribute the heat more evenly. Also, was there liquid in the wrap with the sugar? I've never had any issues with burning.
How easy is it to maintain them on that kettle? I wanna buy one, but I’m concerned about the temp
It takes getting used to. But once you learn it it's second nature.
Not a big fan of pork ribs but I'm down to try this.
Throw that rub on some beef ribs. Pork on beef :)
Good idea. We love us some beef ribs.
mi boca está regando
OMG!!! yum yum!!!
Dam I just ate a big ass Sunday lunch. Think I'm gonna make a run to the grocery store
Bacon Carmel corn at cranberry sweets bandon Oregon.
I've been to Bandon. Why did I not know this then?
Cooking With Ry it may be time to go back 👍
Where did you get peach wood. Thanks
I'm fortunate to have a local wood supplier: thewoodshedoc.com/
COME ON YOU MAKE US HUNGRY, GOOD JOB YUMMY
Hey Ry. Have you ever done two racks of ribs on your 22inch kettle?
I've done 3, actually: ruclips.net/video/VgKbmSlAxQE/видео.html This is using a rib rack, but you could do two without it easily, especially if you are using something like a small briquette basket to contain the coals and maintain a large enough surface for indirect cooking.
When do you wrap in foil
