I've been looking at Adobe PS for a very long time but got bummed out and disappointed at the cost and fees. So I'm looking at Premiere Elements and am loving the price on Amazon right now. I'm wanting to relearn how to edit photos and videos and even make GIFs for a business my boyfriend and I are starting. I subscribed to your channel because you don't just rant alone, but you seem very educated and very charismatic. Plus, I love your decor. So I'm gonna go and see what I can learn from you and hopefully others on what I can do with Premiere before I buy it. Thank you for the upload!
Help... I have Elements Organizer in 2020. I have all my personal photos on D: I have all my Special Olympics on my E: Special Olympics is 51,307 Files, 653 Folders for over 200 athletes and 60 (plus or minus) coaches. . I have a new high-end gaming PC. I've had trouble keeping the Personal and the Special Olympics separate. I want to name all the coaches and Athletes in Special Olympics. But I keep seeing other photos popping in. Also, 2020 hangs up at least twice a week while naming Special Olympics photos. The other problem is it does not show much of each name as I need first and last names. Suggestions on how to keep a separate Organizer group / Catalogue for just Special Olympics. Would it be worth upgrading to 2021?
Don’t quote me. But I think you’re running into a limitation of the software. That’s a bunch of photos for it’s catalog to handle. Not saying it can’t but it seems that way. That being said, I would much rather see you name the files instead of using any software. This is a more perm why if going as it not reliant on software and databases that might go away in the future.
@@jcristina Thanks. I do manually rename all my files after I copy from camera. And I manually manage all folders. So I only wanted to use organizer for face recognition. If I knew of a better on PC face recognition program I would use it.
I currently use version 2014. It works still fine, but it can't open .CR2 files of my Canon EOS 2000D. It however can open .CR2 files of older (pre 2016) Canon cameras lol. When I try to update Photoshop, it says that all updates are already installed, so unfortunately Adobe pushes customers to buy the new software if they want compatibility with the newest raw file formats. I can convert the .CR2 to DNG, but that's a step too far for my taste. Luckily Canon includes Digital Photo Professional 4, which can open and edit the new raw files without an additional step. Photo editing should be frustration free. My goal is always to spend as little time as possible on editing, because it's not really my hobby. I might upgrade to a new version eventually, but it's kind of silly to pay so much money for just a bit more of convenience.
Wow. What a waste of a time. This is a software review where the reviewer does not even use the software. He just walks through the Adobe website and pitches his own anti Adobe point of view. If you want to learn about elements, pick a different video.
I use Affinity and have done for the last 3 years, I do very little in the way of editing just the basics, a dehaze and a small bit of in painting on unsightly objects like rubbish etc. New tech and AI has it's place but I do find especially in the photography sector more and more pro's on youtube are spending more time editing the hell out of their file ending up with something which doesn't look like the scene they shot and extoll the virtues on how good a photographer they are. I do feel all this new tech is going to kill the skill and art of learning how to take a good picture , makes people lazy and kids them in thinking they are good. How many photographers/ youtube photographers are capable if you took away a lot of the tech of the camera and they only had the basics in processing would be competent in doing the job as they haven't learnt the skill and understood what's what and have really relied on the tech to do most of the work. Tech is good in the right environment but unfortunately that environment is getting distorted.
Great video and perspective. Speaking of sensai ... Can't help but to notice you look like Chuck Norris in the 80s but with shaved beard 😜👍 For me I want the 1 click paralax effect for photos. Nothing else is important. Do you have any alternative software that is that easy?
Ok,here it is..I do have some shots I want to play with with software, for effects, not to fix the shots themselves. Now when you are a commercial shooter,a professional in the sense of hired to do certain things, these tools are for you.Now if you're taking bad shots because your skills suck, and you NEED coverups/backups,then you might want to work on your skills more, and software less. When there' was no software, and more limitations, there still was great photography that still set the standards for today. There were Nikons and other cameras, being dropped ,in mud,in rain, shot at,cold, heat, one lens, one body, and they still set the standards for today. It's great to have tools, yet now the lines are blurred between artistic effects and actual skills.Would I get them?If there's no subscription,i would consider it.This reminds me of the differences between musicians/bands and fully digital song creation. Both can rock, because talent, skill, and integrity matter.Oh yeah, and Windows Server,SQL and forms of Linux are excellent for cataloging and automating tasks, for FREE...
This video was me reading and displaying on the screen the marking information provided. Not sure what your talking about not being my photos? It’s their marketing material. How could it be my photos. I’m lost my friend. Many blessings.
I've been paying to rent these 2 full version products for years without little upgrades. Maybe they tweak the speed but I have a computer fast enough that doesn't make a difference in the tweaks they make. As technology grows and my needs change I find myself buying more plugins that Adobe doesn't offer in their core software. Adobe is not the only game in town anymore. Just Saying....
@@dlc54 Tell what I have some footage ,I will upload to my youtube channel and will , make a side by side clip , will let you know once it is up and you can see the difference .
Adobe's addition of AI to these products is interesting on a whole different level for me as I'm currently writing a film about AI - and it begs the question - what else is this AI doing in the background besides making back-ups, which I'm willing to bet lag the hell out of your system and "helping" you, which amounts to "thinking for you" in your creative choices ... hmmm? Great video. I also left Adobe after 30 years.
It's the editing that makes a photo nowadays . and if your in a club and your not using photoshop I feel you have to work harder to compete against the photographers that use photoshop. in competitions. With many of the photos entered in competitions altered beyond recognition
I fully understand your disdain for Adobe's subscription model and have transitioned to Affinity as well. I think your dogging Adobe for their AI engine in Elements is off the mark. Is it really that different from a program like Luminar, which you discarded because it didn't have watermarking? From an earlier reply, it looks like you're looking forward to Luminar AI, which will have a great deal of automated functionality to make life easier for photographers, yet you dog Adobe Sensei AI for doing the work for you. I think your legitimate bias against Adobe because of their subscription model is over-saturating your assessment of a program you're unwilling to try out. I think you'll have to agree that the Affinity suite doesn't match all the functionality of Adobe's rental software, though it does enough for us to use it as our core software, but that doesn't mean Adobe's software is crap. Would you not still be using Adobe if they hadn't gone subscription? Would I buy Elements? No. I have the 2018 version so I can instruct help folks that only have Elements to work on their images, but I wouldn't include it in my workflow. I guess it felt to me like an excuse for you to flip off Adobe, and that seems less than objective.
Honestly I do t hate AI at all but feel it’s overrated as the quality of the edits are crap when zoomed in “for the most part”. I am not a fan of Adobe of course. Good software horrible customer service and not a sales/lease model I agree with.
When I hear AI I translate that to 'Artificial Idiocy'. For an amateur it seems good but also a bit pricey. They are geared to the amateur who does not understand the less manipulation of the image or video the better, it is better to get the shot 'in the can' rather than aggressively edit an image. That is not say never edit but Adobe is implying the software can take a mediocre image and make it into a portfolio image; not going to happen.
When I hear AI, I think large, bloated and SLOW programs. I do, however, have Topaz Sharpen AI and while it is all of the above, it CAN sharpen SOME images very realistically in a way that nothing else I’ve used can. So it appears that there is AI that does stuff you can do for you, and AI that does certain things better than conventional algorithms.
I'm glad he wasn't around when the auto industry started with automatic transmissions imagine a company making things easier for the user. I think that was the point. I brought Adobe’s product to the attention of my subscriber base even though I don’t like their company. That being said, you might of missed it but I’ve used Adobe software for over 15 years and didn’t delete all of it until last year. Note: I’m not a fanboy not shill for any company and have no brand loyalty to any brand besides my own. That being said, what I speak is facts and my experience based on a long 25 year professional creative career. Thanks for being here and taking the time to comment.
