Bittersweet also how even when it's only a moment for the dragon, the swordsman experienced all what life could offer. I think a nice thing to keep in mind is that dragons who lay with humans typically develop an affinity for the human race, so its highly likely that she ends up fighting to protect humans while she searches for a worthy opponent after these events, which quite the character growth from when she was killing everything (including humans) in the first part.

As always, I was expecting a joke at the end as usual. A JOKE. Not devastating emotionnal damage.
But breaking the usual formula makes it even more effective. Chikatoon is pretty great at storytelling.
They've done this before, like with the little girl trying to hypnotize her teacher. But yeah, it's been awhile since we last had this type of ending.
@NutsTheJerker I'm not talking about global storytelling, I'm talking Chikatoon storytelling. The format of these cartoons is codified through hundreds of episodes and the fantasy ones particularly.
Cliche set up, trope inversion or chaotic interactions that break the initial persona, twist ending with usually a comedic abrupt end.
THAT is what I'm talking about.
This is the storytelling that's subverted here.
Yes, the passing of time is a story element that has been used and re used by thousands of authors, may they be classical or modern.
Maybe I was not too clear in my initial statement, but you're the one with limited exposure to these great little skits if you can't pinpoint something so basic.

Chiktoons are charming despite using very commonly held tropes. Their success stems from that charm.

To make it short, Grandpa ghost can't pass on because he hasn't apologize for eating Grandma's pudding, wanting to make proper goodbye. Only for Grandma to say she already know because they've been together for a long time. Such light mistake not matter, no "final word" necessary, their life together already fill in.

the translation is kinda wrong. their child is a boy and married to an elf girl.

I just assumed the daughter enjoyed crossdressing and had found a partner who enjoyed it just as much.
They use female pronouns twice, and never call it daughter.
They use male pronouns atleast 8 times and call it son. And they never call the elf by male words (pronoun or other wise) just she/her and bitch.
Its not cross dressing because that is still useing orginal pronouns, and it's not transgender because that causes inferitility (meaning they can't breed like the dragon mother said they would).
Its much much more likely there was a translation error in the baby scene.
Oh and if its magic trans, then it's not cross dressing either and there is no evidence the elf did it too.
It's just a translation error, maybe even a typo. Highly doubt they'd add any of that to the story

Peeps say the ending is sad but this is the most realistic ending for any mortal who tries to get with a Immortal or a species with longevity
Indeed, this is why many beings of such.. Renown, tend to prefer living among their own kind or alone rather than in the midst of humans. Becoming attached to such a short lived species is not ideal.
But we do it anyway, like building friendship with our pets, and one day we gonna feel like that dragon lady
