    It’s a darter rig. I used to pop Kalin’s darter heads with a zoom finesse worm back in the 80’s. Those little fins might show up on your new fangled video game sonar but a darter head does all the same movements. At least you won’t have to super glue the bait to the head to work it that aggressively. Thanks for the reminder, it’s something that I’d sort of forgotten about.

    I too use the mylar minnows for this! Didn't give up for a month straight and now im catching them pretty regularly. Stripers on the California aqueduct.

    Initially the rapala ice jigs were used for winding then specialized jig heads and soft lures came out around 15 years ago

    Yup we been popping and follow back for salmon years ago. Works well once you get the touch. I do the same for walleye season as well. That fall bite is something magical on walleye. 😊

    The BR fish reeled straight is Charlie Brewer Slider Fishing :). Tackle just keeps getting cooler and cooler :)... but some of the oldies are still fish catchers :D.

    Does the forward sonar see the metal jig head, flakes in the plastic lure, or what? I heard bait pop is what you need to make baits show up in the scope

      What sizes you get for what depths? I'm still thinking lighter sizes with longer pauses will be best for pre spawn smallmouth.

      @@bryandavismoviefan 5gram head for shallower stuff 4-8 feet. 7 gram for that 8-15 foot depths, and if I need to go heavier I will. Almost should snag a 1/8 to be safe as well

      Sluggos are legit . This old retired sportsboat Captain I know throws them almost exclusively. He knows how to work it . From tuna to bass it gets bit.

    Looks like a squid style leadhead. I have metal jig lure from the 60-70s that kinda looks like that jig head. Around just over 2oz , ment for inshore fishing.
    Want to give this a try for bay fishing at night.

    Gotta say thank you for demonstrating how to jig it tried it in potholes Washington. I killed it although I tried to nine Graham and I lost two of them and I have to say it’s five bucks a jig. I hope the price comes down although I’m still ordering more you’re right it’s all you need, although I did try the new with the line going through it in style I killed it with that. Not sure the name of it but it’s pretty dope when you jig it it we’re gonna be breaking. Makes like the worm is alive.

    Darting jigheads in saltwater been around a long time. Tict, majorcraft,Aqua wave. You use a limber rod with drag backed off and you yank up. This causes the darting

    Are the hook sizes the same in every size? If not which sizes have the strongest hooks? I catch big flatheads in timber on vertical jigging baits and they straighten hooks. I replace my treble hooks with saltwater 4x hooks.

    Winding has been around for at least 15 years in Japan. A lot of things coming from Japan get misunderstood. Especially the strolling etc

    I just hook it normally like it shows on the package and it still has that action. I don't understand why you're hooking it that way unless you're saying it gives it even more action but again hooking mine normally it looks just like the video you showed action wise

    Damn I’ve been doing this for years with the larger Berkley flat worm at my little Pennsylvania pond. Figured it out one day messing around with finesse stuff. guess there calling it a new technique now 😂I should’ve written an article about it and called it the wiener rig or something missed opportunity

    I remember 25 years ago using the slug-go with a 1/16oz bullet weight on a Texas rig. If you’re into that kind of fishing it was great. I guess I was “finesse fishing” before it became a thing😂.

    New, not really, is use this kind of lure 2007 the first time, in Japan they use is lures for Hairtails to.
    The reason why nobody use this kind of lure ealier, it's look not really catchy 😂

      Yeah I used this technique for Aji and also a few different types of small saltwater fish many years ago. Not new. But I think it is only recently being used for Bass.

      ​@@andranslam5017I use it for Zander/Perch and Seabass and i catch same times Catfish wels on it, in Europe we use it for pelagic fishing with 3oz dartheads and 10 inch size slug type baits for Nothernpike and huge Zander with the Livescope, the guys&girls in schweden try this first.
