I never knew the snap would make a difference. I've seen snaps from cultiva that are padded, and now I know what's the reason for. That's a great tip for strolling non-specialised baits.

I use a loop knot and find good results with it. Been using it for walleye for quite some time up here in Canada

Not really - specifically designed for strolling. You could of course dropshot with them - or something like that.
