Green Day fan here👀 Went to the Wrigley show in Chicago. We walked in as Rancid started. I absolutely love Rancid, first time seeing them, need to go see them play a headline show for sure. Was disappointed that the set was only 30 minutes but I get it. I was more disappointed at how small the turnout was for Rancid. I was telling my date like….”This is fucking Rancid, where is everybody”. As far as the sound, certainly didn’t sound like Green Day but tolerable. I wish they played longer! I don’t love Smashing Pumpkins but cool to see. Not my kinda music but cool to hear the hits. Plus they’re from Chicago so aye we show love. As a Green Day fanatic, it was an absolute blast to hear all those deep cuts from Dookie & American Idiot live! 3rd time seeing Green Day & this was by far my favorite performance by them.
Yeah, I had a good time bc it was Rancid, but hated how I felt they were just kind of there and not respected at all... I'm sure they're having a blast, though
same with Dallas on Wednesday, seemed like Tim's mic was cutting in and out and in general the mix just wasn't right, but looked they were having a good time rocking out regardless.
I saw Green Day , Rancid at Hyde park in London a few years back Rancid got an hour set in , I wouldn’t have bothered for 30 minutes that’s ridiculous.
I wouldn't have gone if it weren't a birthday gift for my wife and daughter, and my kid's first time seeing Rancid (they're 11, 10, and 4). So it was a special day, regardless
I definitely agree with you about Rancid only getting 30 minutes. They should have been given 60 minutes before Green Day. I do know for a leg of this tour they also had Smashing Pumpkins playing as well and I'm sure Billy Corgan got his band's time. I'm hoping they'll do a headlining tour of their own at some point and get a long set. With their Catalog, they could easily do a 90 minutes set.
I don't know what'd disappoint me more: Rancid playing 30 min after paying that price, or seeing somebody dressed in 'Ultra MAGA' get-up at a punk rock show
Well, it wasn't a punk rock show, so there's that, lol. I was surprised to see that shirt, tho, for sure. Dude looked like he was ready to start some shit, it was kind of hilarious, tbh. Very douchey gentleman, I'd say

Green Day absolutely killed it and you never heard me complain about ticket price bc I feel like it was worth it based on their show
I was at citi field in NYC...1 million percent correct about the sound and short setlist....also Tim looked healthy and buff lol
Tim absolutely looked pretty big and relatively healthy, but he looked kind of tired in Austin. But I kind of think he always looks like that, lol
AFI got the same rancid treatment at that venue when they opened for 30 seconds
That's wild.... AFI is so good live, too...
I *am* a Green Day fan, and 2 1/2 hours *is* a lot...
Man, I know, right?
Heard the same feedback about the sound for Rancid from a friend who went to the Cincinnati show.

Glad I skipped this tour a stadium combined with those ticket prices was an easy pass I wanna see rancid in a more personal venue
I agree 100%, but it was more than just a show for me, so it was special. Had it been just me, I would have watched Rancid and juat left, lol
