The PUNK ROCK REVIEW
США
Добавлен 29 май 2022
All things PUNK ROCK, Oi!, Hardcore, and DIY!!!
Pretty accurate channel name, lol. I am going to do a lot of punk rock content. Album reviews, song reactions, retrospectives, and podcasts covering punk rock, oi, and hardcore (all punk adjacent music) from the mid 90's to now. I will even be checking out newer bands and doing streams as often as possible.
I have a small indie label and would love to check out your music, so please reach out on IG or email if you have a band you want me to review or check out!

I REALLY want the Lillingtons to do a reunion tour.
Enjoyed the vid but seemed a lot like a comparison to NoFX when this album was released after the main songwriter in RKL died. The same songwriter who Fat Mike basically wanted to emulate, especially on bass. This album came out after NoFX had gotten big and the dudes in RKL were trying to fulfill the Epitaph contract (that the main songwriter was part of). Thumbs up though, enjoyed the talk nonetheless. Also, vocals sound like Kermit the Frog to me.
I became a gutter punk for a while i respect punk most of all the cause were the brews sporting anti swastika tattoos im sober with respect of a choice so poor one for the homies 😂
Im african american i am 56 years old i never stop listening i first heard of punk with 7seconds later the circkle jerks amongst other bands in California at 19 years old
It looks like a skull literally behind your head when I look at the rancid poster seriously check it out look at your discussion and look at the rancid poster no I'm not stoned

Im watching frommthe uk, is the us "scene" always this dramatic? Genuine question.
I mean, every social circle that has a reasonable amount of people is, I'd think. I can't imagine it's much different in the UK. But in LA, where this is all going down, is particularly dramatic (as far as I know). There are way more people and bands there, thus way more toxic people. Still shitloads of great people/bands, but as groups get bigger, the likelihood of someone spoiling it gets higher. Kind of to be expected imo. In TX where I'm at, this is pretty rare. 25 years ago though, it happened all the time. People are just people, and we typically ruin everything. If not, punk would never have existed.
Thanks for the reply! The punk influencer seems like an oxymoron to me but who knows. I thought the whole point was to let people do whatever the fuck they want, so I just leave people to get on with thier own shit. She does seem a bit off, but who the fuck am I. Anyways, have fun. X
Lowest of the Low ..Amazing band
Hell yeah, I love Terror!
Great show… Might have to change the title as this touches on a lot more than just bad religion . Thank you for all your time and effort you have dedicated to the Punk Rock community!
You Talk to much but nice music
I definitely talk too much, you are correct.
Met them up in SF in mid 80's , they played with Verbal Abuse and i think English Dogs at the On Broadway. Always loved RKL
Heck yeah, that's awesome
I went to elementary all the way up to high school with jessie. i used to see him around town here and there before moving deeper into LA. crazy to see him on here.
Lol that's awesome
I don’t really know or care what happened in this situation. Way back in the late 70s at the start of The UK punk scene Erin might have been referred to as a ‘plastic’ punk or poseur, in the early 80s there was a ‘punk’ geezer with a massive Mohican who appeared on loads of London postcards even magazine covers etc. I guess he was similar to Erin. I don’t understand the amount of almost hate that Erin seems to get. Basically if you don’t like her then don’t engage simply ignore what she does. Personally I think she’s fine she’s making a living and that’s her business maybe she is a ‘plastic’ punk who knows. Who defines what punk is anyway are multi millionaire bands like Greenday, The Offspring, Blink 182, Rancid even the likes of John Lydon and the original Pistols punk rock who decides.
👍
Street punk came from early english punk, not from college rock.
Yes. I did a whole ass video on the origin of street punk.
Brian was my friend. I’ve known him since cub scouts.
Damn.... I'm so sorry man.
@@thepunkrockreview Brian was a chill guy. You had to back him up in order for him to get aggro. The feud was a slow build of hate. Not just with Brian, but the whole crew felt it. You from TX huh?
Punk guys playing metal is on point. The bass notes are sick
The drummer on this album was fantastic, too
Wow this movie was so good.
Big facts
@@thepunkrockreview I vaguely remember this happening on the news. I would have been 16-17 when the trial ect happened. And being punk in a conservative town in Canada was the same scene. Bullying/fights. Nothing obviously to that magnitude. Except it was the hockey boys. But there was such a great scene then. Owen sound Ontario Canada. Punk show every month. 88 figures Louie play a show. There was others wish I still had all the posters.
Who the he'll is Still Pist? Poser on poser crimes.
Hahaha. No one cares!
I'm Christian and grew up loving rancid, I want to go to his church, I saw them live 6 times!!
Best punk band ever they rip so fn hard
They actually tour favorite or are you just saying they're awesome?
Ill say they are definitely my favorite punk band ever. Joe Raposo favorite bass player ever.@@thepunkrockreview

Aye! Nice! I've been hoping to hear your thoughts on Riches To Rags. Without a doubt one of my all time favorite albums. I appreciate your take on it! Also, off topic, but I recently finished reading a punk book titled "Disco's Out, Murder's In" that talks about gangs in the 80s hardcore punk scene and I think it's absolutely insane. It's a very neglected topic in punk history that I think really deserves a spotlight.
Dang, I'm gonna have to look for that book!
Yooooo! Finally catching up now the storm has passed 🥾🌀
My dood!!!!
Loving the replay since I didn't get a chance to finish it last time💥
I’ve always appreciated them (as someone who doesn’t usually dig the Epi/Fat sound) but my friends in the Grim opened for them in May and holy shit are they amazing.
Yooooo!
A day late again. Hopefully I can catch you guys next Sunday
@@safcollectibles8423 it's all good hombre, I appreciate you watching at any time!
We're still being discriminated against, and the Biden 'JOCK LOSERs' made it 10x times worst calling people weirdos and freaks; I dealt with this type of bullying since high school me and my friends were pushed down a flight of steps, my clothes and stuff were set on fire during gym class by jocks and preps.
I had to work late last night so missed it as came home and went to sleep, was listening to it in the gym today, great stream mate.
Maybe Peine Capitale ruclips.net/video/M3Nkg2M8eJo/видео.htmlsi=mWOTRZG8WSA9KaYM
This is more or less straight foward punk, not really cold-oi. But it's pretty good, I appreciate the recommendation!
The "skater" look is just the East LA blue collar look that was popularized in the 80s. It's basically the modern gearhead outfit.
The "skater" fashion is just East LA blue collar look that was popularized in the 80s. It's basically the modern greaser outfit.
Funny, I never saw Pennywise as "skate punk"... They're more hardcore. These guys were REALLY into black flag and DRI. The thrashier side of punk. I think skaters just associated with them, early on, because of how anti-authoritarian their lyrics were and how heavy the music was.
They're definitely THE skate punk band as far as I'm concerned
Outsiders vs Kickers/Jocks. You know, the Texas panhandle way. I had my share of bad times growing up there at the turn of the century. Glad I got away from that wasteland. Still go back to see family but I wouldn't expect much has changed for the youth trying to find their own way.
Being a punk in TX is still difficult, tbh. I live in Magnolia and I get looked at like im.a crazy person just for wearing a band tee and patched shorts... lol, people are just so easily spooked
