This actually makes sense. Shrek has always been an ogre, he can control his violent tendencies, but to Fiona its just an affliction that takes over her every night.
Yup
Wrong. Being human is her affliction
"True loves first kiss, then take loves true form" Being an ogre is her true form. But the concept of her not controlling that side of her is still quite accurate!
@@tommyburd9526 Happy ending would be Shrek and Fiona sharing a human for dinner while laughing the wholte time.
@@ulykhbyekmaralbyek6981 why now have donkey cook a human for breakfast (instead of waffles) and then they enjoy their meal together
This actually makes so much sense. Her parents locked her away because she was a danger to everyone. She probably ate people. And the dragon was there to make sure no one got close. There's proof that ogres actually do eat people in this story and that what Shrek says in the beginning about eating parts of people isn't just a way to keep humans away from his swamp. He also has an eyeball in his martini in the beginning of the movie. I feel like Shrek was able to control himself but Fiona wasn't and as they were traveling back to Farquad's kingdom together, I feel like he taught her how to control it. Them eating rats instead of people and showing her what she can eat in place of human flesh. And that is exactly why people are so afraid of ogres. This would be so cool to have an actual full length movie of.
I love the thought you put into this!
Shrek didn’t find out Fiona was an ogre until he’d already handed her over to Farquad.
@@kevinphilip1957 he found out before when donkey told him but it was to late then
Donkey never told him 😂😂
It makes sense, I thought about it, that's also why no one could be saved from the tower not only like the dragon, but she also killed them
The creepiest thing, is how it fits in the original universe and how much sense it makes. o_o
Lately we've been seeing tons of children's properties or at least properties that aren't horror-based being twisted into horror. There are some who I know struggle with this but a short film like this is what I will point to as a shining example of how it can be done. This short film is excellent both for those who know Shrek and those who don't. The build-up and atmosphere is incredibly eerie, the costume design and acting helps to sell everything and then there's of course the ogre makeup which is delightfully twisted but if you know Shrek or hell even love it? There's so much to this. From the moment you hear Fiona's theme when she shows up to the fact that these crazy people managed to make a creepy ogre makeup with the iconic Shrek ears actually look horrifying to that cover of All-Star at the end which really especially deserves praise. The fact you were able to take arguably one of the most delightfully corny rock songs of the 2000s and turn it into something genuinely haunting is incredible. This definitely wasn't made for the sake of just being edgy. This felt like a labor of love made by people who had a wicked idea and love for the source material and wanted to see this to completion.
I love this comment so much!! 😭😭😭 thank you for recognizing and noticing all the hard work haha this is the first comment to mention the music when she appears. I spent so much time on that and I'm so happy someone finally appreciated it! 🙏🙏🙏
Tbf a lot of children’s fairy tales do have darker, more violent origins. It is only recently that adults sanitized them so they could be more age appropriate by our modern standards.
I love the knight's acting, especially near the end. He looks at the eviscerated knight laid out before him, he hears the princess's desperate shrieks and begging, showing she's still there deep down, he sees her running toward him. I got the feel from his expression that, even if he still had his weapon, he wouldn't have had the heart to kill her, not to mention he probably feels partially at fault for failing his quest - failing her. So, he just sits there, and closes his eyes, waiting for the inevitable.
I liked the Knight too. I love his armor because it’s historically correct. Reminds me of the Gothic German styled Knight armor and his helmet reminds me of a Maximilian Knight Helmet. I love that the chainmail goes all the way up to his chin which is historically correct. His acting was great too. However, I thought it was dumb that he dropped his sword, every knight should hold on to their sword. Sucks he died.
@@sirorliktheironclad Question....what do you think would happen if he survived?
@@carlthomaswilliamsjr.2995 I think if he survived he would have ran away to warn everyone about Fiona being a murderous monster. Either he would try to find a way to cure her or kill her to put her out of her misery.
@@sirorliktheironclad So in other words if Callum did survive Lord Farquad would be all "Yeah nah." Or wait...maybe he did tell someone...the magic mirror.
@@carlthomaswilliamsjr.2995 Agree. I wish Callum lived. He seemed like a sweet noble knight and is a handsome gallant prince compared to Chad Charming.
As downright freaky this short film is, it does make sense, like a bajillion others have said. This could explain why she never starved, another reason to why her parents locked her away and why the prince’s always seemed to get IN, but never OUT! This could definitely be a solid, yet creepy and gruesome, way to explain some plotholes in the 1st Shrek movies’ lore
Honestly, I did not know that The dragon didn't eat the knights because i thought it did. But it turns out it was fiona.
@@rahimallouche7708 The dragon only cooked them alive for her, we even see a skeleton laying next to a wall, and the shape of a human on the wall from ashes
Concordo. E também esse filme explica o porque de ter ossos humanos no castelo dela.
Woah I never knew shrek cud sound so gruesome since we'll it's shrek
In the original, locking her away as a child seems extremely harsh and ogreist, but here it seems more understandable that the parents couldn’t bear to have their daughter killed, so they locked her away to keep everyone else safe.
It's interesting how she went from "kiss me!" to "feed me!" as if her Ogre side slowly took completely over, leaving the last bits of Fiona gone by the time she reached the knight / Prince in the hallway.. This version was awesome and the actors were great and so believable in their roles. The set is awesome. Great job to the creators of this film. ☺
I love this it fits so perfectly, Shrek is a Fairytale and just like actual Fairytales you have the fun Disney (or in this case DreamWorks) version and then you got the Brothers Grimm/Original stories that are darker and more violent, so this version is like a darker realistic version of events
To be honest, I'm more so impressed by the use of actual and real historical plate armors in this movie, unlike some few Hollywood medieval movies that don't bother to get that right.
The armor the knight wears is historically correct and looks like German Gothic Styled armor while pauldrons look Italian styled armor and the helmet looks like a Maximilian knight helmet.
funny fact in a behind the scenes interview, they confirmed that that is in fact real armor they ordered offline. and after EVERY shoot, espically the one where he had to run, the actor playing the knight was EXHAUSTED after every take from being in the armor.
so pro props to the guy playing the knight aand for playing the part as well as he did.
And that's why in the drawing they were afraid lol😅
I never really thought about the horror application of Shrek lore, but damn this was amazing! Kudos to all the hard work in here!
Thank you 🙏
I just learned about this yesterday and this makes so much sense on how she survived in the tower for so long. The details and everything was so amazing. I NEED A FULL MOVIE!!!
It's amazing, I always had the doubt how Fiona could have survived so many years locked in the castle.
This is honestly one of the most unique horror shorts I've seen and this makes a lot of sense for the Shrek world.
Thank you for checking it out and thanks for the kind words! 😊

2:46 my ex
you can tell by her crys and screams that she doesnt want to become this demonic ogre and that she cant control it
The concept and the execution are great. This is terrifying and makes total sense in Shrek's lore.
Keep making children's stories into horror, please
This makes more sense as a horror film than a Winnie-the-Pooh horror film
Agree because I love Winnie The Pooh and I’m not a big fan of Shrek. I approve this short film and disapprove the Winnie The Pooh horror film.
God 2023 is going to be nothing but horror films of are childhood characters isn't it?
Hey! I like blood and honey! Also we have the Mario movie and spider verse two!
Why? Blood and Honey asks the question: “what if Christopher stopped coming and they had no food?”
Yea like since when does a teddy bear need human and animal food?
He could just eat fiber and cotton
This is SO interesting! We can see in Shrek that he was hunted down by villagers ‘cause he was an ogre, but he didn’t have the “monster nature”, and is probably the only one who hasn’t. As for Fiona, she’s under a curse, to make her a “real” ogre makes total sense! I’d pay to see that, when Shrek’s true love kiss show her real nature
Imagine being cursed to turn into an ogre every night, being locked away for YEARS by your own parents and needing to eat your saviour's human flesh (even rotten) every night to survive, and all of this because of her father's choice and pact with the Fairy Godmother... poor Fiona 😢 amazing movie btw
I’m so sad that this wasn’t even like a full movie . I really really would have love to see this as a full on story . Well who knows . But I absolutely love this . Especially the song at the end was even greater . I hope we get one with shriek showing up at some point .
Imagine if the movie started like this before abruptly cutting to the All Star opening scene.
Damn that would be sick hahah
Like that's ever gonna happen!
This is literally just Shrek but historically accurate
"Historically accurate" 😂😂😂 yes, in the past there was a real princess that turned into a ogre and ate people (while being protected by a dragon) LMAO
Imagine this, you’re already nearly fatigued from the travelling, breaching the castle, and finally make it..she turns, and you have to run in a full set of steel armor, while she wears none, and is running on feral adrenaline. He knew his fate was sealed, the moment he fell, limited joint movement, plus the heavy armor, she would’ve got to him before he could get up.
The one time it’s justified for someone to not get up after falling like in your generic horror films
*(and those that believe armor isn’t heavy, steel is 99% Iron, and even plated armor is at best 75 lbs, nobody’s making light work being covered head to toe with that)*
here's how i imagine a second part of this:
shrek comes in during the night, fiona tries to attack him but he contains her and knock her out with ease since he's basically bigger and stronger, then he just carries fiona on his shoulder and walks away, ending the video
Dang, imagine getting passed the fire-breathing dragon only to be killed by the very person you were trying to save
Finally,a creepy Shrek fanmade that isn't Shrek is Love,Shrek is Life. I love this kind of concept.
But those are memes
Agree. As someone who is not a big fan of Shrek I approve of this.

You NEED to do one for shrek himself, next to the grinch (who is getting a horror movie) shrek could totally work
Not only as a horror movie but as a more darker and mature take on the lore
Could even use the original Chris farley design which funny enough was scrapped for being too frightening

This is what the Winnie the Pooh horror should’ve been
1. The horror had to make sense to the original lore
2. It can be approved by fans
3. The story is creative
The scariest thing is that this could be Canon...
This is cinema brother! 🤑🗿🎉
This is pretty good and makes a lot of sense given Fiona is cursed to be an ogre so she's more violent and wild while Shrek was always an ogre and easily controlled himself.
Someone here mentioned that Fiona learned to control her tendencies thanks to Shrek after he frees her which I agree with.
sooo good. fiona’s transformation is totally haunting!!
True, but too bad we didn't get to see it.
I'm surprised her dress didn't rip. Good material.
The best type of fanmade content are those that actually work and fit in the already established canon
That is an amazing turn of events, she is not a princess anymore once the sun comes down, she turns into an ogre prince charming or not...
Love it...
Like in the movie
Someone has to make this into a full length movie with this guy directing honestly the best horror concept and cinematography I've seen in a long time
This was BRILLIANT! Never really considered that Fiona's backstory would be rather horror-centric, but when you break it down, it absolutely would be. Fantastic work to the entire crew and cast! Looking forward to seeing Andy Chen's name on a Wan or Blum production in the future.

This is disturbing but this is also a good perspective of what Fiona's life was like before Shrek showed up.

Oh my sweet baby Luna dear gods above I NEED this so damn bad.
This reminds me of a story in Scared Shrekless. For those of you who don't know, Scared Shrekless is a Shrek Halloween special that focuses on Shrek and the gang telling scary stories to determine who is the real king of Halloween based on who has the scariest story. Anyway, FIONA reminds me of gingy's scary story. Gingy's story ends with him being eaten by his love interest even though he claimed the story was true and everyone rightly calls him out on his blatant lie. So in my head canon, FIONA is a scary story the knight is telling to his friends, claiming it's true when it obviously isn't.
Amo que all star también pueda dar ese aire tan tenebroso con solo darle otro ritmo en el final, este film es espléndido, sigue así

It is not necessarily a twist. It probably did happen, @Crunch's comment explored the idea pretty nicely. There would have to be a reason why they isolated Fiona. If this were to be canon it would be early into the curse and first stages of being an ogre. Several months or years before the Shrek 1, not sure how the lore goes tho.
Too bad it was so short :( It turned out very, very good, the theme that Shrek managed to save her is cool because he went to rescue her during the day. I have no words, but everything was very sensational
